Představuju si dívku, jak spěchá úvozovou cestou k vesnici. Je únor, stmívá se brzy. Už je na rozcestí u božích muk, a to je dobře, protože kromě tmy hrozí i bouřka. Hnědé brázdy polí jen místy pokrývají poslední ostrůvky špinavého sněhu. U prvních plaňkových plotů si vydechne, nezmokne. A u toho jejich ji úzkost opustí zcela. Pohledem pohladí první sněženky deroucí se zažloutlou loňskou trávou, a taky sousedovic jehňátka, která se na svět vydrala rovněž teprve nedávno. Sněženky, ovečky, barva naděje musí být bílá... Doma přiloží do kamen a uvaří si čaj. Zásoby nasušených bylin se tenčí, ale však už jen pár dnů, týdnů, a nasbírá si čerstvé... V dálce uhodí blesk. Možná právě u starého dubu, kolem kterého ještě před chvíli spěchala domů. Zapálí bílou svíci, a postaví ji za okno. Ve vsi, kterou překryla temně modrá tma, se jako světlušky rozžíná jedno okno za druhým. Hromničky, teprve nedávno posvěcené, ukažte svoji moc a ochraňte naše chaloupky... Imágenes de la Celebración del Oimelc de este año. Me encanta este antiguo vocablo de origen irlandés que nombra la Fiesta de Imbolc o Candelaria. Oimelc significa: en el vientre de la madre; que hace referencia al período de lactancia de las ovejas. Animales de rebaño imprescindibles para la supervivencia de los pueblos antiguos en lo más crudo del invierno. Sin embargo, el Oimelc, es un momento de esperanza y confianza en el futuro. Las primeras señales de la primavera empiezan a brotar por doquier, indicando el nuevo despertar de la naturaleza. Y con Ella nosotr@s nos desperezamos un poco más estirándonos hacia la luz creciente y cuidando el fuego que anida en nuestro espíritu. Ahora cobra mayor importancia el cómo alimentamos nuestra energía interna. La tarea del Oimelc es guardar y cuidar el fuego interior como esa semilla que ahora despierta: Tiene toda una vida por delante y en sus inicios se ha de fortalecer, ha de crear un buen arraigo, unas buenas raíces que la nutran, para desarrollarse y crecer. Y más tarde, a su debido tiempo, eclosione, en todo su esplendor. El tema central del Oimelc es acompañar ese crecimiento desde el interior. Darle sustento y calor desde "el vientre", ir a favor de este mágico proceso implica respetar el propio ritmo y tiempo. Interestingly colour also holds significance in paganism: the colour green for instance is said to promote health, while white conveys strength. Hromnice, Imbolc nebo také Oimelc... Svátek, který je přesně v polovině tmavé části roku, a nese v sobě velkou naději na cestě za světlem. I když příroda ještě odpočívá, v jejím nitru už dříme zárodek nových životů... Do stromů proudí čerstvá míza. Jívy nasazují sněhobílé pupeny, tzv. "kočičky". A rodí se jehňátka. I proto tomuto období Keltové říkávali dny ovčího mléka. Imbolc v keltštině koneckonců původně znamenal "v břiše". Úklid, očista, a přicházející chuť do nových věcí, to vše se pojí se začátkem února. Ženy se v tomto období scházely k tajným rituálům k uctění Brigity, bohyně věčného ohně, aby požehnala přicházejícímu slunci a jaru. Symbolem Imbolcu je tzv. Brigitin kříž. Křesťané si Imbolc přetransformovali na Hromnice. Církevně končí vánoční období, sklízí se betlémy, někde teprve nyní vánoční stromeček. Světí se svíčky "hromničky", u kterých lidé věřili, že jejich domov ochrání při bouřích během celého roku. (Mimochodem, i tento zvyk má kořeny u Keltů, kteří o Imbolcu před domem zapalovali malé ochranné ohníčky.) Bílá svíce je přeneseně symbolem Ježíše, protože obětuje samu sebe, aby dala světlo jiným. A já se o Hromnicích začínám zcela nepokrytě a legálně těšit na jaro. Třídím, uklízím a větrám doma i v myšlenkách... Oimelc meint den Zeitpunkt , an dem die Schafe im Frühjahr das erste Mal Milch geben , somit ist es auch ein Fruchtbarkeitsfest. Zudem ist es auch ein Fest des Lichtes und der Göttin Brigid, deren Festtag der 2.Feb ist. Man kann verschiedene Rituale machen z.B ein Reinigungsritual, deine Wohnung entrümpeln und ausräuchern und einen Frühlingsputz machen. Auch Lärm wird als Imbolc Ritual angesehen damit vertreiben wir die "bösen" Geister des Winters und rufen die "guten" herbei. Du kannst z.B laut Musik hören oder machen, dich dabei bewegen und tanzen. Du kannst aber auch ein "loslass" Ritual machen, schreibe einfach alle Dinge die du loslassen möchtest auf einen Zettel und verbrenne diesen dann. Ganz einfach ist auch das Lichtritual in dem du z.B ein Teelicht auf die Fensterbank stellst einen Kreis mit Salz drumherum streust und die Kerze abbrennen lässt , am Morgen entfernst du das Salz was die negativen Energien vertrieben hat. ( am besten in der Vollmondnacht) Dieses Jahr möchte ich mich mehr mit der Wicca Religion auseinander setzen. Das erste Fest ganz bewusst zu feiern hat mich sehr bestärkt. Imbolc symbolises the halfway point between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara). The word "Imbolc" means "in the belly of the Mother" because the seeds of spring are beginning to stir in the belly of Mother Earth. The term "Oimelc" means ewe's milk. Around this time of year many herd animals give birth to their first offspring of the year or are heavily pregnant. As a result they are producing milk. This creation of life’s milk is a part of the symbolic hope for spring. Milk products are used in Imbolc rituals because of this. This holiday also celebrates the #CelticGoddess #Brigid (see my last post). The Celts used to make a doll of the #GoddessBrigid from oat or wheat straw. They would make a dress for the doll and put it in a basket with a white flower bedding. Young girls would carry the dolls door to door and gifts are given from each household. A small cross often woven from straw or rushes is made on Imbolc called a #BrigidsCross. Hanging a Brigid's cross in your house is believed to bring her blessing and protection for the remainder of the year. 𝐈𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐜 Imbolc detta anche Imbolic e Oimelc, chiamata pure il "Giorno di santa Brigida", è l'antica festa del culmine dell'inverno presso le nazioni celtiche di lingua gaelica, che cadeva tradizionalmente il 1º febbraio, nel punto mediano tra il solstizio d'inverno e l'equinozio di primavera. La celebrazione iniziava tuttavia al tramonto del giorno precedente, in quanto il calendario celtico faceva iniziare il giorno appunto dal tramonto del sole. In Irlanda è considerato tradizionalmente il giorno che segna l'inizio della primavera. Il termine Imbolc in irlandese significa "in grembo", in riferimento alla gravidanza delle pecore, così come Oimelc sta per "latte ovino", a indicare che in origine si trattava di una festa legata alle pecore da latte. In questo periodo venivano infatti alla luce gli agnellini e le pecore producevano latte. Il latte fresco, il formaggio, il burro e il siero di latte, per non parlare dei pasticci fatti con le code mozzate degli agnelli, costituivano spesso la differenza tra la vita e la morte per le persone anziane e i bambini, durante il gelo pungente di febbraio. Durante Imbolc si usava accendere dei falò perché il fuoco rappresentava il sole per il suo aspetto di luce e di purificazione che si esprimeva attraverso le giornate che si allungavano. Secondo quanto narra la leggenda, gli esseri fatati si riunivano per onorare la Dea pagana Brigit o Brigantia, una divinità associata al triplice fuoco, all’arte, alla fucina, alle tradizioni conservate e alla guarigione. In epoca cristiana la festa di Imbolc venne equiparata alla Candelora. Poiché la festa pagana era sotto gli auspici della dea Brígit, si trasformò nella ricorrenza di Santa Brigida. Pudim de Imbolc 🕯️ Uma das sobremesas mais comuns de ser confeccionada para a celebração de Imbolc é o pudim, já que na sua confecção é utilizado o leite. O leite é muito associado à celebração de Imbolc (Oilmec) pois é nesse período que as ovelhas, vacas e cabras entravam no seu período de maior lactação, consequentemente produzindo mais leite, trazendo assim a simbologia do renascimento e renovação. Ingredientes: - 1 lata de leite condensado - 1 medida (da lata) de leite - 1 colher (chá) de essência de baunilha - 3 ovos inteiros Modo de preparação Bater bem os ovos num liquidificador, acrescentar o leite condensado, o leite e a essência de baunilha. Deitar numa forma previamente untada com caramelo*. Levar ao forno a 180°C, durante 45, em banho maria. Podem tapar com papel de alumínio. Após verificar que está cozido, com o método do palito, é só deixar arrefecer e desenformar. *Nota: Podem fazer o caramelo usando 1 chávena (chá) de açúcar e meia chávena de água. Basta derreter o açúcar numa panela até ficar dourado, acrescentar a água e deixe engrossar. Prodlužování dne a intenzivnější sluneční svit ale všude ukazují, že zima již brzy předá vládu jaru. Právě slunce je důležitým symbolem tohoto období, který můžeme na naše talíře přenést v podobě žlutých či oranžových potravin, kulatých tvarů nebo pálivých chutí. Název svátku je odvozený z irského oimelc, což znamená “ovčí mléko” nebo “v břiše”. Obojí se vztahuje k sezóně rození ovcí, která znamená začátek plodného období roku. Ovčí mléko, případně mléko a mléčné produkty obecně, jsou tak dalšími potravinami, které můžeme využít ve svých oslavách. Palačinkový den (Masopustní úterý) letos připadá až na 13. února, ale protože součástí těsta je mléko a palačinky mají kulatý tvar a nažloutlou barvu slunce, můžeme je jako slavnostní jídlo zařadit už nyní. Ze sladkých náplní se hodí meruňková nebo pomerančová marmeláda, ze slaných například brynza (či jiný sýr) s bylinkami. K hlavnímu jídlu můžeme uvařit třeba šafránové rizoto s parmazánem, špagety carbonara s pecorinem nebo kuřecí na pomerančích. Z dezertů to může být citronový koláč nebo bublanina s broskvemi. Pokud byste si raději dali něco k pití, nejjednodušší je sáhnout po heřmánkovém nebo měsíčkovém čaji. Jestli máte rádi mléčné nápoje, pro toto období se hodí zlaté mléko, které má díky kurkumě zářivě žlutou barvu. V magii jde ze všeho nejvíc o záměr a důvod PROČ věci děláme. Pokud tedy nemáte k dispozici nic víc, než krabicové mléko ze supermarketu a nemáte čas vařit, nevadí. Vezměte svou oblíbenou sklenici, nalijte si mléko, zapalte svíčku a připijte světlu na jeho návrat. Pokud vám přijde mléko málo slavností, zkuste místo něj třeba aperol spritz. Imbolc, Oimelc o Brigantia. festa che celebra l'arrivo della primavera, inizia la sera del 31 gennaio e termina la sera del 2 febbraio. è la festa del latte, specie quello di pecora, dato che in questo periodo nascevano gli agnelli e quindi tornava disponibile il latte dopo l'inverno. Brigit o Brigid, è la dea principale che viene ricordata e festeggiata in questi giorni ( 31 Gennaio Santa Brigida), Dea della fertilità e dell'abbondanza. nel cristianesimo viene festeggiata la Candelora (2 Febbraio) e si definisce il giorno della purificazione della Vergine. Imbolc Blíží se první svátek Kola roku. Imbolc se nejčastěji slaví 1. a 2. února, na svátek svaté/bohyně Brigid a křesťanské Hromnice. Pokud bychom oslavy umístili do poloviny mezi zimní slunovrat a jarní rovnodennost, nastává Imbolc 4. února, na který padá i vstup Slunce na 15° Vodnáře. I když je ještě zima, Imbolc je (před)jarním svátkem, který v sobě spojuje symboliku vody, ohně, nového života a nových začátků. Mezi aktivity, které můžeme do oslav zařadit patří např.: 1️⃣ Voda, která začíná rozmrzat a volně proudit. Navštivte prameny, očistěte studánky i sebe sama, uctěte vodní bytosti a nechte vodu ať odplaví vše staré a nefunkční. 2️⃣ Co neodnese voda, může spálit a transformovat oheň v podobě svící, hranic či kovářské výhně. Jde o oheň kontrolovaný, který přináší možnost posunout se dál a v jeho plamemech vykovat lepší verzi sebe sama. 3️⃣ S ohněm souvisí svěcení svící. Hromničky jsou křesťanskou zvyklostí, která se stala oblíbenou součástí čarodějnických a neopohanských tradic. Jejich smyslem je ochrana a spojovány s hromovládnými božstvy a jejich symboly. 4️⃣ Název svátku odkazuje na mléko a rození prvních mláďat. Imbolc je časem obnovy a rodí se při něm nové věci, pokud jim dáme prostor. Po zimě, během které jsme spíše zpracovávali, přichází čas vyjít ven a tvořit. 5️⃣ Ke zrození nového života patří také mléko. To je symbolem výživy, mateřské péče a života. Zařazením mléčných výrobků do jídelníčku můžeme podpořit právě tyto kvality. 6️⃣ I v oblastech, kde je stále zima, se jaro hlásí o slovo prodlužováním dne. Uctěme jeho sílu, která se zrodila v temnotě slunovratu, a podpořme jeho i náš přechod do světla. 7️⃣ Slunce láká i první jarní rostliny, které začínají vyrůstat z chladné země, a které můžeme uctít nebo je zařadit do jídelníčku. Ten je pomalu vhodné odlehčovat a postupně do něj zařazovat čerstvé rostliny. 8️⃣ Patronkou svátku bývá bohyně Brigid, která je spojená s vodou, ohněm, léčením a inspirací. Upleťte si Brigitin kříž, zajděte k pramenům, zapalte svíce či ohně a nechte se očistit a transformovat. Není to ale pasivní proces, očišťujte a transformujte svůj život vědomě a s jasným záměrem. 🕯️ Oimelc: Ewe’s milk & Imbolc 🐑 As the wheel turns towards Imbolc(Imbolg) we embrace the tender resurgence of life, marking a time of renewal & the first whispers of spring. This ancient festival, nestled between the winter solstice & spring equinox, invites us to nourish our inner light & that which we put out into the world- a time of feminine magic. 🐑 This year, I’m drawn to the essence of Oimelc- one of the possible roots of the word Imbolc, meaning “ewe’s milk” & symbolizing the vital nourishment that sustains life as we edge away from winter’s grasp. It’s a period that mirrors lambing season, a testament to the cycle of birth. 🥛 To honor this, I propose a simple ritual: warm a small amount of milk, perhaps adding some honey & warming spices like cinnamon, ginger & nutmeg & offering it to ourselves, our female ancestors & if you have them, children. Oakdale Grove and Carleton Grove’s combined #Imbolc #Druid #Ritual in the Carleton College Sunday Evening Service, in place of their annual #Candlemas observance. Three new Druids were initiated into the Order of the Acorn. We hybridized Oakdale Grove’s seasonal #Oimelc script with Richard Shelton’s 1971 script which had been written for an indoor ceremony. We think this might have been the first time in the 60 year history of Reformed #Druidism that the Druids were leading an official service in the chapel, invited and organized by the college. This evening program was in the same time slot of the services that the Reformed Druids were protesting from 1963-1964, back when chapel attendance was mandatory. Now because of the Druids’ successful protest, students no longer face coerced religion. There were about 40 attendees in the congregation.
Imbolc is coming! [Valencià/Español] Estem en l'època en què ovelles, vaques i altre bestiar reben a la seua descendència. Una època que es tenia molt present en l'antiguitat pel compte que tenia per a tota la tribu: llet i carn que ajudaran a la seua supervivència. Aquesta època les tribus celtes irlandeses la van anomenar Imbolc (d'Imbolg, en la panxa) i Oimelc (llet d'ovella), i es feien devocions a la deessa Brighid, patrona de la poesia i la inspiració, la forja, la sanació, la llar i les dones, i també dels guerrers. Els dies s'allarguen i els primers indicis de la primavera comencen a assomar el nas, però encara fa molt de fred i el risc de gelades és ben present. Per això també el foc era tan preuat en aquests dies, com a consol del bon temps que no tardarà en aplegar. Les creus de Brighid eren amulets que protegien les llars i els éssers que l'habiten del foc i els llamps. 🔥🐄🐂🔥🐏🐑🔥 Estamos en la época en la que ovejas, vacas y otro ganado reciben a su descendencia. Una época que se tenía muy presente en la antigüedad por la cuenta que traía a toda la tribu: leche y carne que ayudarán a su supervivencia.
