💵 If Love Had A Price 💵 This is book three in the ‘If Love’ series by @authoranahuang, which is a most underrated series in my opinion. Personally, I feel the enemies to lovers trope can overshadow the fake dating trope for me and it’s not until I’m reading a book with the latter that I’m reminded of just how much I enjoy it. This book did that for me. I loved the main characters together and thought the FMC was portrayed well. The multiple time jumps at the end detracted from the flow of the story though and I felt it lost some oomph because of this. 📖 Book review If We Were Perfect by Ana Huang This was the fourth and final book in the If Love series. I read the first three books last year and for some reason just never got around to finishing it. The lovely Nicola @living_the_life_of_a_bookworm started reading this series and I remembered how much I loved it so it was really good to read the final instalment together. It follows Olivia and Sammy as they navigate how to be unexpectedly in each others lives again after breaking up 8 years ago. This book was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. At times I loved it, the characters were great and it was making me laugh. However, there were other times when I got so frustrated with it. I enjoyed the evolution of their relationship throughout this book - they knew each other, but also were learning about how much they’d grown and changed. It was nice to read a second chance romance where the focus was on how they are different as individuals, rather than it just being the situation that’s now different. They weren’t perfect, and they know that. However, I knocked half a star off because I actually felt that their chemistry suffered a bit because of this. The part that loses the another star for me though is towards the end. The miscommunication (or general lack of communication) really annoyed me, especially given how their growth and maturity had been such a strength of the storyline. I felt like it didn’t really recover enough for me to give it the star back. Overall, as a series, this is a 4* series, with the first two books being standout for me. It wasn't a generic, happy ending kind of love. It was more real, which was a nice change. But something was missing for me and didn't grip me like other Ana Huang books have. I think I’m realising it more as I’m document my reading journey…Here is my March Wrap Up I read 5 books this month…This is the most books I have read in a month so far this year 👏🏼 I am definitely thankful for audiobooks as I can still get my reading in while completing jobs around the house 😂 Books I read this month… ⚪️ Fourth Wing ★ ★ ★ ★ .5 Have heard so many good things about Fourth Wing, so was hoping it lived up to the hype. The beginning…the world building was challenging to get my head around but then I began to really enjoy it and couldn’t put it down…excited to read Iron Flame next month but also nervous 😬 ⚪️ If we ever meet again ★ ★ ★ This was my first ever Ana Huang book that I read and I found it enjoyable. Didn’t connect to the characters as much as I thought I might and I think that’s due to the POV the story was written in…and some of the tropes that were used. I found I was interested enough to want to continue the story of Farrah and Blake in book 2. ⚪️ If the sun never sets ★ ★ ★ This was slightly more interesting than book one and I was happy to get closure on the story of Blake and Farrah but found it slightly predictable and again included some tropes that just aren’t my cup of tea ⚪️ If love had a price ★ ★ Really quite enjoyed the first two in this series…so was positive going into this one to continue the series but his book was just not it for me, unfortunately, I found myself at many times forcing myself to read…just hoping it would capture my interest…unfortunately it didn’t. ⚪️ Heartless ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again reading the Chestnut Springs Series is like coming home to a warm cup of tea and a fuzzy blanket…definitely get on this series if you haven’t Question: What was your favourite book this month?
