CURRENT READ Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood Pages:400 Romance Publish Date June 11, 2024 Rue Siebert might not have it all, but she has enough: a few friends she can always count on, the financial stability she yearned for as a kid, and a successful career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. 💀BOOK TOUR💀 - House That Horror Built Release: May 14, Tomorrow! Thank you, @berkleypub for an advance copy of this Horror novel and including me on your tour! I unfortunately haven't gotten through it yet because ✨️ kids ✨️. But I'd love to pass on the synopsis to everyone! 💭 Are you into Horror movies? If not, what's your favorite kind of movie? Synopsis: In THE HOUSE THAT HORROR BUILT, Harry Adams has loved horror movies since she was a little girl, so it’s not a total coincidence that she ends up taking a job cleaning the house of famous horror movie director Javier Castillo. Mr. Castillo’s secluded mansion Bright Horses is filled with horror movie memorabilia—posters, props, and terrifying costumes—as well as the countless awards from his career. A career that came crashing down after a family tragedy and scandal forced him to vanish from the industry, leaving the media to make their own conclusions about the mysterious disappearance of his wife and troubled son. Javier never speaks of his family and values discretion above all else, and Harry—desperately trying to make ends meet to support her teenage son—would never do anything to jeopardize her job, even if it means overlooking Mr. Castillo’s eccentricities. Like the fact that he never seems to leave the house, never has visitors, and constantly hovers to ensure that Harry is cleaning his precious props immaculately. But then Harry starts hearing noises from behind a locked door. Noises that sound remarkably like a human calling for help. And then there is the prop from one of Mr. Castillo’s most successful movies that Harry swears she saw move out of the corner of her eye. Harry knows that not asking questions is a vital part of keeping her job, but she soon finds that the house may be home to secrets she can’t ignore. . . . #berkleypub #housethathorrorbuilt #horrorbooks #christinahenry

✨ R E V I E W ✨ Thank you so much to @berkleyromance for the #gifted copy! | #berkleyinfluencer And the Bergman siblings saga comes to an end and it’s such a bittersweet moment! It was such a long time coming, such an investment, so many emotions! I loved all of these characters so much and it was so wonderful being able to catch glimpses of them years after their own book ended. But! There’s a caveat. Viggo and Tallulah’s love story was sweet but it was all vibes. There wasn’t much of a plot in the sense that the conflict wasn’t really a conflict? I know we all love Viggo because he’s the biggest romantic and helped orchestrate his sibling’s HEA, but why did he have to fall into the role of virgin hero? Not that there is anything necessarily wrong with that but there shouldn’t be discourse around that. I really wanted to love this one. I wanted the ending to this series to feel like fireworks were going off inside my chest. It was more like a light was fizzling out. I know the Bergman series is one that hold a special place in people’s hearts - it does in mine too! 🫶🏼

“This Summer Will Be Different” by Carley Fortune was so much fun 🦪🍟🇨🇦 💐⁣ ⁣ Thanks to @berkleypub for gifted advance copies of this one! It’s available now; it came out May 7.⁣ ⁣ 🔮 Mood reader index: the perfect summer read: a spicy romance with costal vibes⁣ ⁣ I’ve read and really enjoyed all three of Carley Fortune’s novels and this one is by far my favorite. I do not read a ton of romance novels and this one felt like a good fit for me, with themes of found family and female friendship that took the book beyond a basic romance.⁣ ⁣ Carley Fortune’s author note talked about how she wanted this book to be fun, and I think she nailed it. It is fun and frothy without trying too hard. And — this is a big statement — it kinda has “Summer Sisters” by Judy Blume vibes. I’ve been chasing the high of that book my whole life, and anything that is remotely similar gets me excited.⁣ ⁣ Synopsis: “Lucy is the tourist vacationing at a beach house on Prince Edward Island. Felix is the local who shows her a very good time. The only problem: Lucy doesn’t know he’s her best friend’s younger brother. Lucy and Felix’s chemistry is unreal, but the list of reasons why they need to stay away from each other is long, and they vow to never repeat that electric night again.⁣ ⁣ It’s easier said than done.⁣ ⁣ Each year, Lucy escapes to PEI for a big breath of coastal air, fresh oysters and crisp vinho verde with her best friend, Bridget. Every visit begins with a long walk on the beach, beneath soaring red cliffs and a golden sun. And every visit, Lucy promises herself she won’t wind up in Felix’s bed. Again.”⁣ ⁣ 🦪 What’s on your summer TBR? #carleyfortune #thissummerwillbedifferent #berkleypub #floridabookstagrammer #beachreads #bookstagram

Q: What’s a book that made you get out of a reading slump? • Nightfall by Penelope Douglas Rating: 4/5 ⭐️ Spice: 3/5 🌶️ Review: This is the last book in the story which follows Will and Emmy. This book picks up a bit after the 3rd one where Will is locked in Blackchurch but somehow Emory is also there. I really enjoyed this book as it takes on a more different route compared to the other books. I enjoyed getting to learn about Blackchurch and the people who ended up there. There were a lot of conflicts and the story was very entertaining. I enjoyed the alternating povs and getting flashbacks of the past. Douglas did a great job of writing the finale of this series. Will is known as the weak one but is he actually? I liked how he proves himself in this book showing he can do things on his own. He had a great character development and I loved it. Then there is Emory who hasn’t had the greatest childhood and doesn’t think she should be love. I also loved seeing her grow and knowing there is a different side to Will. There were many side characters and I loved being introduced to more but also seeing some side romances form. The romance was enemies to lovers, instant love, and forbidden love with steamy scenes throughout the story. The ending was well done and I loved how the book came to be. So much happened in this series that were all separate conflicts but became one big one at the end. Overall this book is wonderful and I recommend checking the series. The first book is very dark than the rest but once you get through book 1, the others are better. *this e-arc was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return* • #nightfall #penelopedouglas #penelopedouglasbooks #devilsnight #devilsnightseries #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #enemiestolovers #enemiestoloversbooks #enemiestoloversromance #secondchanceromance #secondchance #steamyromance #steamyromancebooks #darkromance #darkromancebooks #bookreview #berkleypartner #berkleypublishing #berkleypub #berkleyromance #forbiddenlove #instantlove

I chose Prince Edward Island as my home over ten years ago. Growing up, we spent a week here every summer and the fact I get to live here now is still something I’m getting used to. PEI isn’t perfect but I will forever be grateful to live somewhere that continues to take my breath away with its beauty. When I found out Carley Fortune was writing a book set on the island, I was nervous. I was worried about how the island would be depicted and how those of us who live here would come across. I needn’t have worried. This Summer Will Be Different is a love letter to the place I call home. More than just the relationship between Felix and Lucy, (which is 🥰🔥) this is a story of friendship. Bridget and Lucy’s relationship stole the show, and their friendship resonated with me so much. Our book club is reading TSWBD for our June pick (are you really a book club on PEI if you’re not?!) and I’ll save a more detailed review for then but just know that this is even better than I imagined it could be. If you love PEI- you’ll love this. And if you’re not familiar with our little island on the east coast of Canada, I’m confident this book will inspire you to visit. ❤️🧡💛

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When Lucy arrives on Prince Edward Island the day before her friend who shes visiting, she has time to kill, and Felix is the perfect escape. Until she finds out that she just slept with her best friends brother…several times. Bridget had three simple rules for the vacation, and one was to not get involved with her brother. now it’s been five years and Bridget has escaped to PEI right before her wedding. She begs Lucy to come, which she does, but the tension between her and Felix is only getting worse. Another win from Carley Fortune! I absolutely loved Bee (Lucy) and Bridget’s friendship! it was exactly the kin d of girls girl friendships we all need in our lives! Then add in the obvious feelings between Lucy and Felix and I could not stop reading. I did want to know what was going on with Bridget the entire book and didn’t understand why she just didn’t own up to Lucy what was going on. Of course I eventually got it, but I just wanted to scream “tell us!” the entire book. I just loved this one and highly reccomend it! Thank you to @berkleypub for my gifted copy of this book! #ThisSummerWillBeDifferent #CarlyFortune #BerkleyPub #BerkleyRomance #BookReview

Thank you to Berkley @BerkleyPub Berkley Romance @BerkleyRomance as well as @PRHAudio and Netgalley @Netgalley for this e-arc. All thoughts are my own. QOTD: What would your superpower be if you got to choose one? Lizzie has never had a problem getting what she wants. As a bloodline vampire, she usually just takes it. And right now, she wants her family heirlooms that were stolen from her, and a portal home. When the boat she’s on rescues a selkie from captivity, Lizzie sees this as a great solution, the selkie will be her guide, and Lizzie will help her get her skin back. But Maeve, the selkie’s skin was stolen, and getting it back is going to be dangerous. Will Lizzie’s skills and Maeve’s selkie strength be enough to get it back? This was a fun sequel that picked up where the last book ended. While I do think that this book would work as a standalone, I felt I got more out of it by reading it in order. I do think that this series has more build up to the romance than most of the other Katee Robert books I’ve read, these are slower burn, but not incredibly slow to where it’s frustrating. I have listened to both books on audio, and for me that is my favorite way to enjoy this series. The narrator has done a fantastic job bringing all the characters to life in an enjoyable way. The characters in this story were a lot of fun. I don’t think that they had a ton of depth necessarily, but it wasn’t a huge drawback as the story was compelling enough to make up for it. I think that Katee Robert writes my favorite spice scenes, and this book did not disappoint in that regard. I’m looking forward to the next chapter in this Crimson Sails series! Funny Story by Emily Henry ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is one of my most anticipated books of the year and I’m so happy it didn’t dissapoint. Swipe to see some of my favourite quotes. Synopsis: Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story: Stranded in beautiful Waning Bay, Michigan, without friends or family but with a dream job as a children’s librarian (that barely pays the bills), and proposing to be roommates with the only person who could possibly understand her predicament: Petra’s ex, Miles Nowak. Scruffy and chaotic—with a penchant for taking solace in the sounds of heart break love ballads—Miles is exactly the opposite of practical, buttoned up Daphne, whose coworkers know so little about her they have a running bet that she’s either FBI or in witness protection. The roommates mainly avoid one another, until one day, while drowning their sorrows, they form a tenuous friendship and a plan. If said plan also involves posting deliberately misleading photos of their summer adventures together, well, who could blame them? But it’s all just for show, of course, because there’s no way Daphne would actually start her new chapter by falling in love with her ex-fiancé’s new fiancée’s ex…right? . . . #funnystory #emilyhenry #berkleyromance #berkleypub #romancereads #romancebooks #5starread #bookreview #bookrecommendation #bookstagram #audiobookreview #bookish

Book Review: Collide by @authorbalkhabra 🏑 Thank you @berkleyromance for sending me a free copy. #berkleypartner Out May 14th! I really liked this book it was a fun hockey romance without being to much on the hockey part. If you like books like Icebreaker or the deal with a bipoc fmc then you should read this. Aiden was the sweetest, caring, unproblematic mmc and deserves nothing but good things. I also liked Summer the fmc for the most part. The romance was really cute, I liked that Summer was the grumpy character while Aiden was the guy that fell first and was really into her. There’s spice, good banter and an amazing friend group that I’m excited to see who gets a book next. Read if you like: 🏑 College hockey romance 🏑 Found family 🏑 Spicy scenes 🏑 Found family 🏑 He falls first 🏑 Bipoc fmc 🏑 Black cat/golden retriever

On Fire Island – Jane L. Rosen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I read Jane L. Rosen’s most recent books backwards, starting with Seven Summer Weekends, which comes out in June and I didn’t realize it was tied to her 2023 release, On Fire Island. I do think that Seven Summer Weekends can be read as a stand-alone, but I’m happy I read On Fire Island, both because I enjoyed it, and I was able to fill in details from Seven Summer Weekends that I didn’t even know I was missing, like about Shep and the sandwich guy. And I have to mention the hat in the cover of On Fire Island…just wow. I love the connection there. In On Fire Island “A book editor spends one last summer on Fire Island.” But it’s so much more than that. When Julia dies at 37, at the beginning of the book, she wants one more summer on Fire Island with her husband and the special cast of characters in their summer lives. Her spirit sticks around to follow them through her final summer on Fire Island, where she watches their lives unfold and her husband try to deal with his grief. At first, I was nervous to read this one. I thought it would be too sad. But after so many glowing reviews and loving Seven Summer Weekends, I’m glad I did. I’ve never read a book like this – from the perspective of someone who’s passed on. Julia is narrating the book so it’s kind of written in first person from her perspective, but because she never actually interacts with any of the other people, so it’s kind of like their story is being told in third person. Fire Island itself also kind of takes on the role of a character. Having been to Fire Island, I love this setting for Jane’s novels. I loved the Jewish rep, and the discussion about how Judaism deals with death. I’ve always thought that our death rituals are something Judaism got right in providing comfort and honouring our loved ones. I loved that Ben’s neighbours created that for him on Fire Island. QOTD: Where’s your favourite beach vacation? *I took the background photo on Fire Island. 📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 A NOVEL LOVE STORY by @heyashposton. Pub date 6/25/24. Many thanks to @berkleypub @berkleyromance and @netgalley for my #gifted (free) copy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5 This was such a unique take on a romance novel, and I had no clue what to expect after I read the blurb, I just knew I had to read it. I've never read anything quite like this, and it was just so warm and cozy. I could literally picture the town in my head, It gave me Stars Hollow (Gilmore Girls) and Bluebell (Hart of Dixie) vibes. If you're looking for a not your normal type of romance novel, small town, cute bookstore, and great characters, this is definitely the book for you! I'm off to buy the authors previous books now! Elsy is on a road trip by herself to go to a secluded cabin and do nothing but read for the whole week. She packed a stack of books and brought with her her favorite series, Quixotic Falls Quintent. Unfortunately, Elsy's car breaks down, and she finds herself in a small little town with no cell service. Things look oddly familiar to her when she realizes all the town peoples' names and all the landmarks are the exact same as what's in the Quixotic Falls Quintent series, except for the grumpy bookstore owner. ❓️ QOTD: What are you currently reading, and based on where you are in the book, what would you rate it? I'm finishing up The Hollywood Assistant, and it's definitely 5 stars! ❓️ #anovellovestory #anovellovestorynovel #Ashleyposton #Berkley #berkleyromance #berkleypartner #berkleypub #berkleybookstagram #netgalley #berkleyinfluencer #missouribookstagrammer #stlbookstagrammer #stlbookstagram #booksaboutbooks #booksaboutbookshops #bookphoto #bookcoverphotography #starshollow #gilmoregirls #Bluebell #hartofdixie #smalltown #smalltownromance #magicalbooks #berkleybooks #goodreads #bookreaders #bookclub #booksaboutbookclubs

The House That Horror Built by Christina Henry Pub Date: May 14th 336 pages Length: 9 hrs and 9 mins Swipe for description & content warning I was drawn to this book as it had the Hollywood adjacent theme as our main character Harry works for recluse horror movie director Javier Castillo. This book is told from dual timelines and dual POVs with the present being told only from Harry’s POV. It is hard to describe what all was happening in this book without giving things away but the premise of the book focuses on Harry who cleans the house of Javier and started noticing that things weren’t always what they seem. She starts to notice a costumes/props moving and hearing noises. And then after a death of an actress at the house, her fear and suspicions of the home began to accelerate. The book just builds and builds until it all unfolds in the last couple of chapters. I won’t say I was surprised by all the revelations but I also did not see some of it coming. But then the book just ended. I would love to have seen what ended up happening with Harry and Gabe. I love the relationship between Harry and Gabe. She is all he has and I just love how Gabe really admires his mom. I paired my reading with the audio and I thought the narrator Lisa Flanagan did such a great job as Harry and all the characters. She especially nailed down Harry’s son Gabriel and his tween voice. If you are looking to give horror a try, I think this would be a good intro to the genre. This wasn’t gory and just a little creepy. [image ID: white hand holding a copy of The House That Horror Built against a brick wall]

Q: What are you currently reading? Or if you’re in between reads, what are you hoping to read next? As you can see featured here with my sweet Rosie girl, I’m currently reading another arc read 😊🩵 It’s by a new to me author, and I’m really enjoying it so far 🥰 📖 Book Description ⬇️ 💍 The Ex Vows by Jessica Joyce Estranged exes must stick close together to save their best friend’s wedding after a string of disasters in this swoony and steamy second-chance romance from the USA Today bestselling author of You, with a View. Georgia Woodward lives by her lists, none more so than the one about her ex, Eli Mora. It’s full of the ironclad dos and don’ts they’ve been following since she returned to the Bay Area after their cataclysmic breakup five years ago. With the wedding of their mutual best friend, Adam, looming, and them about to step into their roles as best woman and man, Georgia’s never needed it more. She refuses to threaten their tight-knit friend group with her messy—and still very present—feelings. The rules on that list will keep her cool, calm, and compartmentalized. What’s not on her list? Eli arriving from New York with a new rule-breaking attitude or the all-inclusive venue burning to the ground, leaving the bride and groom in dire straits. Nor does she anticipate Adam asking her and Eli to help him make a miracle happen. Together. As Georgia and Eli rush up to Napa Valley to pull off the perfect wedding, their old chemistry comes back in technicolor. Somewhere between cake tastings gone wrong, disastrous DJ auditions, and Eli’s heated attention, Georgia starts recognizing the man she fell in love with before. And if she lets herself break her rules, she might find what they’re building isn’t the something old that ruined them—it’s a chance at something new.

Last, Current, Next ➡️ 🐴 Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage - cute, small town romance with a man that talks way too much during the smut scenes. A little overhyped but I enjoyed the romance and I do want to read book 2! 💐 In the Weeds by @authorbkborison - I am loving being back in Inglewild and currently falling for Beckett. ☕️ Elena Knows by @claudiapineiroescritora - I’ll be reading this for #coffeeandcuentos

This Summer Will be Different 🦪☀️ Rating: I really liked it! Narrator: 🎧🎧🎧🎧- I loved that the author narrates! Pub Date: May 7th, 2024 - happy pub week! Thank you @prhaudio & @berkleyromance for the #gifted copies I haven’t physically been to any coastal towns in Canada, but based on the way Carley’s books take me there, I feel like I have. I love how her books are dual timelines, they make the stories sweeter, sentimental and a bit deeper. In This Summer Will Be Different, we follow Felix and Lucy, who met years ago, and after a wonderful night together, we find out that Felix is Lucy’s best friend’s brother. Over the span of five years, we see how they keep finding each other again and how their paths cross. Felix is such a flirt. He gives me Jess Mariano vibes, with a book in his back pocket. Lucy is a likable character, and I really liked them both together and all of the little ways they stayed connected. SHE'S A USA TODAY BESTSELLER!!! 😭😭😭 Look what you did, friends!! Thank you so incredibly much to everyone who preordered or picked up a copy this past week, to all of the lovely booksellers that have been championing it, and of course to my fabulous team at @berkleyromance and @rootliterary! When MRS. NASH'S ASHES came out last year, the USA Today list was on hiatus for all of its best sales weeks, so it wasn't even a possibility for this to happen. That it did for HAPPY MEDIUM, and right out of the gate, means so, so, so much to me. Thank you @berkleypub for two amazing books. 🤩 The Sweet Blue Distance by @sara.donati.author has been a nightly companion as I slowly chip away at it. I've loved the format and taking a step back in time. I had no idea there were two other series so I'm excited to be able to go back to those. ✨I had no idea but the author lives in my area and I saw that she was doing an event at an indie near me... I was so disappointed that I couldn't speed read the book and make it. 😂 What Cannot be Said by CS Harris is an ongoing series that I think 🤞🏼 I can read without catching up in the series. The cover SOLD me. 🤭 #berkleypub #berkleypublishing #berkleypartner

thank you @berkleyromance and @prhaudio for the free book and audiobook! #berkleypartner #prhaudiopartner #berkleyig #penguinrandomhousepartner Love at First Book by Jenn McKinlay Pub day is 5/14 🎉 Accidentally read three small town romances in a row! Not mad about it! This one was a quaint little Irish village, so it was the dreamiest one by far for me! Emily, a librarian, moves to a small town in Ireland to work at a bookstore and become her lifelong favorite author's assistant! (Can you imagine!?) Turns out her boss at the bookshop is the author's son. . .and he's super surly, doesn't like change, and doesn't seem to like that Emily is there to help his mom start writing again. What more do you need to know?! It's cuteness overload and way more emotional depth than I expected! • I relate big time to the FMCs illness anxiety disorder and appreciated seeing this rep! • I love the idea of our bookish FMC helping her favorite author finish a book series that was left on a cliffhanger for years and years! This was the book series that was there for her through it all. I absolutely loved this plot. • The mother-son arc was sooo heartwarming! This book had me in my feels! 🎧 Lovely narration! Highly recommend! The Irish accents sounded lovely to me! . . Have you met any of your favorite authors in real life? Would you jump at the chance to be an assistant to one of your favorites? Or, if you could have any book related job, what would it be? . . #berkleyromance #berkleypub #prhinfluencers #berkleyinfluencer #bookfluencers #audiobooks #loveatfirstbook #jennmckinlay #romancenovels #bookstagram #botwxbs #booksparks #audiobookstagram #romancestagram #romancenovels #readmoreromance romance

Thank you to #berkleypartner and #berkley for Nosy Neighbors, the newest cozy mystery from @freyasampsonauthor! When Kat Bennett reluctantly returns to her old stomping grounds, all she wants to do is keep her head down and lay low. Still, she answers an ad where there’s a room for at Shelley House, an ailing apartment building that’s seen better days. Suddenly, Kat finds herself the roommate of an elderly man who despite her protests, makes her dinners, and his way into Kat’s heart. But when his efforts to save the building result in a suspicious attack, Kat slowly find she anonymity going out the window. Forced to work alongside the building’s colorful residents including the prickly Dorothy Darling, Kat becomes embroiled in not only solving the mystery, but saving the building. But the more Kat and Dorothy are forced to work together, the more they come to an unexpected understanding, and an even more unexpected friendship. Nosy Neighbors is a fun whodunnit in the vein of Only Murders In the Building or A Man Called Ove. The eclectic group of residents, each with their own stories to tell, gave this mystery depth. Not unlike its prime time comparisons, I could also see this being turned into a series or movie. So if the opportunity to read this comes knocking, don’t hesitate to give it a warm welcome. 📕 🎊 Pub Day Spotlight 🎊 📕 Daughters of Shandong by Eve J. Chung @eve.j.chung.writes . *Thank you to partner @berkleyromance #berkleypartner #berkleyIG #berkleybookstagram for my gifted copy* ... Description: Daughters are the Ang family’s curse. In 1948, civil war ravages the Chinese countryside, but in rural Shandong, the wealthy, landowning Angs are more concerned with their lack of an heir. Hai is the eldest of four girls and spends her days looking after her sisters. Headstrong Di, who is just a year younger, learns to hide in plain sight, and their mother—abused by the family for failing to birth a boy—finds her own small acts of rebellion in the kitchen. As the Communist army closes in on their town, the rest of the prosperous household flees, leaving behind the girls and their mother because they view them as useless mouths to feed. Without an Ang male to punish, the land-seizing cadres choose Hai, as the eldest child, to stand trial for her family’s crimes. She barely survives their brutality. Realizing the worst is yet to come, the women plan their escape. Starving and penniless but resourceful, they forge travel permits and embark on a thousand-mile journey to confront the family that abandoned them. From the countryside to the bustling city of Qingdao, and onward to British Hong Kong and eventually Taiwan, they witness the changing tide of a nation and the plight of multitudes caught in the wake of revolution. But with the loss of their home and the life they’ve known also comes new freedom—to take hold of their fate, to shake free of the bonds of their gender, and to claim their own story. Told in assured, evocative prose, with impeccably drawn characters, Daughters of Shandong is a hopeful, powerful story about the resilience of women in war; the enduring love between mothers, daughters, and sisters; and the sacrifices made to lift up future generations. 🎊 Available now 🎊 ... #DaughtersOfShandong #EveJChung #berkleypub #berkleyromance #pubday #happypubday #happybookbirthday #newbook #bookbirthday #newreleasebook #newrelease #bookaccount #booksloveandunderstanding

Bridel, Carley Fortune 𝗣𝘂𝗯 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: May 7, 2024 5⭐️ 💛 𝙈𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 💛 This is one of my favorite books of the year and it is my favorite of Carley Fortune’s! It’s full of sizzling chemistry, fun, friendship, and island life. It will make you want to book a flight to and island and never look back! Lucy and Felix meet on Prince Edward Island when Lucy is coming down with her best friend Bridget to vacation where her bff grew up. However, her bff misses her flight so Lucy arrives first and meets a hot local named Felix. They have a very fun time together, and don’t realize that they know someone in common! Felix is Lucy’s best friend’s little brother. They decide that they shouldn’t get together again. The story unfolds over 5 summers time, past and present timelines where Lucy and Felix meet and their story over time. I love Fortune’s writing in this one. Her characters are sizzling with chemistry. I was hanging on every word and description in this story. I loved it so much. Felix is so attentive, kind, chivalrous, and swoony. Lucy is a strong young woman, works her butt off, but has a hard time having fun as the grind of life and adulthood takes its toll. It was fun to see their bond strengthen over time as they built up a solid foundation for their relationship! 🎧 𝙉𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 🎧 A.J. Bridel did a fabulous job narrating this story! She sounded like the perfect Lucy and gave her main character life along with her side characters. Aυdιoвooĸ Revιews 🎧⁣ ⁣ I have been listening to so many amazing audiobooks, but I’m behind on reviews! ⁣ ⁣ Thank you to @PRHaudio for these two fabulous audiobooks. ⁣ ⁣ 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 ⁣ 𝐁𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐞 @carleyfortune⁣ 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫: 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐲⁣ 𝐏𝐮𝐛 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝟓.𝟕.𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐻𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑃𝑢𝑏 𝐷𝑎𝑦!⁣ ⁣ Bridget has three rules for her best friend Lucy when she invites her to come to Prince Edward Island for the summer:⁣ 1. Now the secrets start. This is full of hot, and (I mean hot) summers, a forbidden romance, and a sweet friendship that is put to the test. ⁣ 𝘈 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘵𝘺 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥⁣ 𝐁𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐆𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐳 @sarahgrunderruiz ⁣ 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫: 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐲⁣ 𝐏𝐮𝐛 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝟏.𝟐.𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒⁣ ⁣ This was a super sweet romance set in beautiful Ireland. I loved Jack and Raine, and their banter - sassy but very open and honest. What set this book apart for me was the representation of OCD and ADD, especially the way Jack’s OCD was handled. (And this is where the audiobook shines - with the excellent dual narration). Raine and Jack acknowledged their relationship couldn’t “fix” cure each other, but instead, they learned to understand one another. It’s as much a self-discovery journey as it is a heartwarming romance. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ✍️ 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬? It’s a beautiful sunshiny May Day here today and I have a review for the book of the summer! For the past 2 summers we have all loved Every Summer After, and Meet Me At The Lake and this summer will be no different with 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝘽𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩! This one is actually my new favourite of hers! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ☀️𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝘽𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙮 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙚𝙮 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙚 💐 - This is the story of Lucy and Felix and their summers together on PEI. And I loved them together they had such good chemistry, and Felix is the ultimate golden retriever he was such so sweet, and the way he took care of Lucy in subtle ways like buying her butter, sending her seeds and just being there when she needed someone warmed my heart so much! He was also such a great brother too!! Lucy was such a great FMC, and such a loyal friend to her best friend Bridget who happens to be Felix sister. I loved Lucy’s character development from the start to the finish of this book we really see her come into her own. There was so many tropes in this that was done so well too! Found family, best-friends brother, forbidden love. My favourite part of this book though was the PEI setting, being an Atlantic Canadian my self and vacationing on PEI every summer when I was a kid this just hit different for me! In such a beautiful nostalgic way!!! I loved all the little things that made it like Anne of green gables, the covered bridge chip reference the butter it was all just so good!! I also loved all the book references in this!! I listened to the audiobook for this one and it was narrated beautifully!! 💬: did you go on any summer trips when you where a kid with you’re family? Or tell me a book you’re looking forward to reading this summer! Have a great day book friends! ☀️💐👙🌷

⭐️This Summer Will Be Different ⭐️ . 💫Carley Fortune 💫 📚Book 90 of 2024 📚 This is my new favorite Carley Fortune. I could not put it down! This is the perfect book to kick start your summer reading! . Lucy can’t wait to visit her best friend’s hometown of Prince Edward Island. When they have to go separately Lucy finds herself alone and attracted to the handsome man shucking oysters. Unbeknownst to her it’s her best friend’s younger brother. The only problem is Lucy promised to never fall in love with Bridget’s brother. Felix, AKA Wolf, and Lucy had a magical night until Bridget comes to town and they promise never to repeat that night. This is a promise they continuously break summer after summer. . I love how this bounces around between past summers and the current timeline before Bridget’s wedding. I loved seeing them grow apart and together. I just really loved everything about this one! Thank you #berkleypub and #NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review This book had me really wishing I loved oysters! 🌰Book Review🌰 The Hunter's Daughter by Nicola Solvinic Pub Date: 05/14/24 Thank you to @berkleypub for the free copy. Are certain people genetically predisposed to be monsters? During her childhood, Anna's father was apprehended for murdering almost thirty women. In the present day, she's a law enforcement officer investigating a string of murders that bear uncanny similarities to her father's ritualistic crimes. Is it the work of a copycat, or is the k*ller closer to home? The Hunter's Daughter is a slow burn that reminded me of shows like AMC's The K*lling. It's a slow-paced police procedural/thriller with a dangerous serial k*ller on the loose. While I was invested in the whodunnit mystery, I struggled with the slow pace at times. However, the last fourth of the novel had enough suspense to partially make up for the slow start. There were some very good red herrings sprinkled in, but I did manage to guess the perpetrator's identity, despite the clue being a blink-and-miss it moment. Overall, this was a well written story, and it's impressive, considering that this was a debut novel. I was mostly satisfied with the ending, but I would have liked it more if a few storylines had been fleshed out. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This or that: -Outdoorsy or indoor person -Thunderstorm or snowstorm -Go for a hike or stay in and watch a movie -Night owl or early bird #berkleypartner #berkley #berkleybookstagram #berkleypub #debutnovel #debutnovelist #debutbook #debutauthor #newauthor #happypubday #pubday #happybookbirthday #publicationday #psychologicalthriller #psychologicalthrillers

Turns out their parents have a long-standing rivalry and they get a little bit caught up in the middle of it. • Totally flew by! I listened to this in a day. • Bi + Pan FMCs 🥰 sapphic romance • This book was an unexpected love letter to Chicago. I love the way the characters fell in love with my city! Chicago really is so wonderful when you're young and in love. It's where I fell in love with my husband, too. • I don't usually enjoy when the parents of the main characters are *this* involved in a romance novel, but it bothered me less than usual! It just sort of worked for the overall story, so I went with it. • Felt like a very cinematic romcom: a meet-cute followed by a relationship forming over a short period of time, you can see the third act conflict coming from a mile away, and know to expect some kind of grand gesture. I think it worked well for this shorter book/audio. I enjoyed this one! Now I've just got to figure out how to get some good Armenian food!! That's my homemade sourdough in the pics 😋 I'm very proud! . . This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4.25) Thank you @prhaudio @berkleypub @berkleyromance @netgalley for the free books #PRHAudioPartner #BerkleyPartner #netgalley Release date: May 7, 2024 Lucy, a tourist in Prince Edward Island, finds herself drawn to Felix, unaware he’s her best friend’s brother. Despite their chemistry, they vow to avoid each other. But as they reunite each year, Lucy struggles to resist Felix’s charm, especially when Bridget’s crisis brings her back to the island. The dreamiest setting, most lovely female main character, and a comforting nostalgic atmosphere. I really love these romances that use dual timelines to create emotional resonance and sentimentality. It was also so sweet & cute how the author made Lucy girly yet strong. The subtle references to her pretty dresses and femininity were delightful. And don’t even get me started on the Prince Edward Island setting. It’s been five summers since I’ve been back on the maritime coast and this story filled a special place in my heart. If you’re looking for picturesque Canadian settings and nostalgic atmosphere like in Carley’s two previous romances, this book will not be any different. The audiobook narrator was ✨ perfect ✨ She sounds sweet & girly but confident & sure of herself. Perfect for you if you like: Character depth and emotional resonance Forbidden and complicated relationships Vibrant coastal setting and evocative writing Similar to: Love & Other words by Christina Lauren Mistakes We Never Made by Hannah Brown Ready or Not by Cara Bastone ⛔️prologue and chapter 12, 18, 28 & 39 contain explicit romance scenes (open door) ⚠️explicit language, grief, previous death of a loved one #thissummerwillbedifferent #meetmeatthelake #everysummerafter #carleyfortune #berkleyromance #berkleypub #romance #contemporaryromance #bestfriendsbrother #summerromance #princeedwardisland #anneofgreengables #islandromance #loveandotherwords #book #bookrecommendation #bookreview #audiobook #whatskatiereading

Funny Story by Emily Henry #audiobookreview #bookreview #5starreview It absolutely IS a funny story - or at least it certainly will be when they tell it afterwards. It's absolutely NOT a meet-cute - more like a meet-really-seriously-ugly because both of their previous meet-cutes have just exploded in their faces. This one is desperation meets trauma bonding turning into fake dating turns into a terrific romance about living well being the best revenge - especially when it turns out to be a whole lot better than the mere revenge it started as. Along the way, Miles gets Daphne to fall in love with the little town he's already in love with, she finally reveals enough of her own earlier traumas to both set some realistic boundaries AND let people in to her life and heart and not just Miles, and it's wonderful to fall in love with tiny Waning Bay right alongside her. If you love Emily Henry, this book is an utter delight. Book Lovers is still my fav, but Funny Story is right up there with it! And don't forget the Petoskey fries! @berkleypub @berkleyromance @prhaudio @emilyhenrywrites #ChickLit #RelationshipFiction #romance #BerkleyPub #BerkleyRomance #prhaudio #emilyhenry #bookstagram #bookblogger #romancereads #romancerecommedations

🍷 #BERKLEYPARTNER | FEATURE 🍷 Anybody else wish they were somewhere else instead of at work right now?🙋🏻‍♀️ THE EX-VOWS by @jessicajoycewrites has me wanting to be in Napa Valley right now!😍 I’m #CurrentlyReading THE EX-VOWS and am really enjoying it so far! I loved You, With a View, so no surprise there! Plus second-change romances are totally my jam so I knew it’d be right up my alley. I’ll have my review up sometime this week, but in the meantime, check out the synopsis below! SYNOPSIS Georgia Woodward lives by her lists, none more so than the one about her ex, Eli Mora. THE EX-VOWS releases on July 16!🙌🏼 Thank you so much, @berkleyromance, for the #gifted copy in exchange for my honest review!💕 #readswithyenny #jessicajoyce #berkleyromance #berkleyIG #berkleypub #PenguinRandomHouse #penguinrandomhousepartner

✨𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪✨ Thank you @prhaudio and @berkleypub for this complimentary audiobook and gifted copy. Do you have a favorite romance trope? I love a best friends to lovers and this one was so good! These childhood best friends swore they’d never speak again. But a surprise summer reunion changes everything when it gives them the chance to turn up the heat. Another delightful and adorable story, I loved the setting, the characters and of course the trope. A second chance story about second chances that will leave you with a smile on your face. This is my second book from this author and from now on she’ll be an autobuy author for me. 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗲 𝗢𝗹𝘀𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 by @rochellebilow released April 30, 2024.
