I honestly could not put the books down, and even would binge in a single sitting 🤭. One of my guilty pleasures in life is reading a nice twist when it comes to Greek gods (well any gods really), and Scarlett St. Clair absolutely took the cake not only in story telling, the povs between Hades, Persephone, and other gods/demi-gods, and the 🥵 scenes. It had me absolutely FLOORED. This is also the perfect example of why I would love the Villain/Anti-Heroes more than the Prince Charming/Heroes, I need a man who would be willingly to burn the world for me, not sacrifice me for the world. Legit was kicking my feet every time Hades would say that line. This has been my favorite modern take of Hades/Persephone, and highly recommend for a spicy romantsy. I promise you won’t be disappointed. When I tell you I am going through it emotionally with this book.. Persephone… girl why you doing Hades like that… Ngl I’m sorry but this book was not it for me… it’s extremely chaotic, I love Persephone and Hades and was looking forward to seeing the characters develop and although I’m sure St. Clair wanted to do that, I’m not sure it was the best way…. ✨A Touch of Darkness✨ It’s giving: “if he wanted to, he would.” Listen. Not sure if there was crack in this audiobook, or whether it was exactly what I needed to get out of my slump again, but I’m OBSESSED. I’ve never read (listened to?) an actual Greek mythology re-telling, but holy crap I am OBSESSED. Persephone is a bad-ass, boundary setting QUEEN and I loved that for her. And Hades? WOOF WOOF. Bring me to the underworld and I’ll do whatever this ✨god✨ wants. I started the second book on audio last night but couldn’t take the male narrator seriously, so I jumped into listening to the 3rd book because I’m obsessed and can’t go without. Ill probably (honestly), go back and listen to book 2 after this one even tho it makes zero sense to do so. 🤷🏽♀️ Also, honorable mention for Hermes. I adore him.

✨Book Review✨ 3.5/5 Stars I will always enjoy this series, but I feel like this book was part of the middle book syndrome. I enjoyed Persephone’s growth in this series, but she continues to struggle with what she has been struggling with throughout the whole story (her mom, powers, Hades, feeling guilty for causing despair in the world, PTSD, etc). I did enjoy how the communication between her and Hades improved in this story. I think this book does do a good job to set up for the next book in the series. This was such a fitting end to the Hades and Persephone saga. It is spicy and sweet but also has so much going on including some dark scenes that I wasn’t really expecting. Hermes is once again an absolutely hilarious delight in the midst of all the chaos. Overall, a solid final book! If you haven’t picked up this series I would definitely recommend it. I have absolutely loved this series, and am so sad to see it come to end! To commemorate the end of the story I just had to order the indie exclusive special edition. Scarlett St. Clair ended up adding the book store I ordered from to her tour so my copy ended up being signed as well! After a chance encounter, Persephone finds herself in an unbreakable deal with Hades, God of the Dead. This series brings a dark reimagining of the Persephone x Hades greek myth to life. Scarlett St. Clair wrote the series with alternating POV’s (“a Touch of” = Persephone, “a Game of” = Hades). Originally, I didn’t think I would like the switch offs, but I actually ended up loving it! Felt like it filled in the gaps from the book prior with interesting backstory and details. Over the weekend I managed to finish the final book in the Hades X Persephone series by Miss #scarlettstclair and AHHH what a way to close out this wonderful and beautiful story. It was electrifying, heartwarming, spicy and heartbreaking. When I came across this series last year I didn’t know how much it would mean to me, but I’m so glad I picked it up when I did. Book Review: A Game Of Fate by Scarlett St Clair ❤️🔥 • 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 • A Touch Of Darkness, The first in this series, brought me back to reading in 2022. BUT it ended on such a sweet and hopeful promise, that when I heard the second book in Persephone's POV had an extreme cliff hanger, I decided to wait until the series was complete (Which it now is!!❤️🔥) to continue on. And let me tell you, Book two, This book, A Game Of Fate, was even BETTER than ATOD. Without giving too much away, I have to say that I absolutely loved seeing Hades unhinged and furious side. I love getting to see into his mind, I loved getting to see so much more of the other gods and how he interacts with them. Hecate and Hermes getting the most time, and my gods do I love the way Hecate is Hades scary dog privilege. Not to mention the many ways Hermes pushes Hades buttons, usually just for a laugh. ⭐️Book Review⭐️ 4/5 Stars ⭐️ I love this world so much. I do not like the miscommunication trope so the rating is more on me because it makes me upset when communication in a relationship just isn’t there, but I also recognize that this is part of the growth of their relationship. Other than that, I enjoyed the growth that Hades and Persephone showed throughout the book. Hades is honestly one of my favorite characters because it is my favorite trope (I’ll burn the world for her). I just love how you see him struggle throughout the book to make the right choice and go against what he has known and done in his lifetime. His growth in using his support system to learn about his failures and how he can be a better person/partner. I enjoy reading his books because he gets a bigger picture of what is going on in the background with the other Gods. I can’t wait to continue this series and finish it this year. A Touch of Darkness | 4.5 ⭐️ I was pleasantly surprised by this book!! I’ve had it on my shelf for over a year, and saw it was free on audible. Sooo why not 🤷🏼♀️ from chapter one I was immediately upset I didn’t read it sooner!! This book is a modern day retelling of Hades and Persephone. I thought it would be similar to the Never After series, but thankfully I was wrong!! With that being said, I enjoyed those books, but this one definitely pushed ahead for me! Persephone is a goddess in disguise attempting to live a normal life as a journalism student. She’s finally escaped her mother’s greenhouse and simply live her best life. However, Hades being the most charming and handsome god was not part of her plans. She naively strikes up a bargain with Hades and is FORCED to spend time with him. She quickly learns who Hades really is at his core. I cannot wait for the next book! Thoughts: It was good, I always love seeing Hades point of view. And I loved the addition of Dionysus's point of view. The addition of Theseus's point of view added to the plot, albeit he is a pig. However I found myself sometimes bored, and maybe it's because I already know the premise of what is going on since it's basically recalling the events from A Touch of Malice. All in all while I wasn't bored I was still enjoying the story and seeing how Hades and Dionysus grew as characters. Synopsis: Hades, God of the Dead, has finally made Persephone his in every way possible. With their wedding on the horizon, the couple should be ecstatic. But Demeter is wreaking havoc on their bliss by battering the whole of New Greece with erratic and dangerous weather. At the same time, Theseus continues with his agenda against the Gods, allying with the hate-group Triad in an effort to bring down all of Olympus. This book to me was a great retelling of the age old story of Hades and Persephone's and I love how she had described Persephone, Once she found she was powerful and that she was a beautiful goddess even though she still had more to learn about her powers. I love how she turned that nymph into a mint fern LOL . I can't get over of how the characters were portrayed in this story. .Also in a world full of Nymphs never be a Minthe. I wanted to give it a five out of five on the spice rating but after reading some other dark romances I feel like some of the spice was kind of short lived but it did have a lot of spice in it and it was good and I also will be starting a game of Fate now because that is how I am going to read the series as this is the second book... My favorite author is Scarlett St Clair When reading ATOD there was an instant obsession with her writing. I could feel the darkness consume me & there was no turning back. These romcoms just didn’t have the same hold on me, (although I do find myself still loving a good romcom). That’s when I entered the dark side. I fell in love with Hades 🔥 with all he represents in terms of the underworld, darkness, and death. Really awoken me. Book two of the touch of darkness series has been devoured. And wow what a wild ride it was guys. I absolutely love the first one for a number of reasons. And so I was beyond thrilled to get my hands in book two. And while I enjoyed it, especially the last chunk, the lack of communication between Hades and Persephone just frustrated me so! Like talk about your feelings and fears please!!! But by the end I understand where they both were coming from and how they are stronger now as individuals and together. A lot of growing had to be done for both of them. Either way the steamy moments were great(wish they were longer) and the stakes were definitely raised.
