From getting some me time to my boy's first pedicure 💅- we collected some outside time this beautiful afternoon, after work. Outside to help me recharge and him to connect. When you’re here - life is HARD. Doing it day in day out, alone, is an unbelievably impossible challenge and even after 4 years, I honestly have no idea how I get through each day. Im forever overwhelmed, in survival mode, stressed, tired, and praying for bed time, just so that I can get a minute to myself. But then - you leave, I finally have the peace I was desperate for, and I am truly alone. The house is empty, it feels too quiet, there is a gaping hole where you normally are, and I’m left questioning what there is remaining when you aren’t here with me. I don’t have time when you’re here, I don’t have energy for a social life, I forget what it’s like to do things for me, I don’t remember what used to make me happy before you, or how I filled my time and filled my cup. One of the hardest parts of divorce and co-parenting is having to miss out on special moments, memories and holidays with your children while they are with the other parent. And it hurts especially bad when they will be with your ex’s new partner and not you. This is the part of divorce I was dreading the most. It’s something you can’t even begin to understand or grasp until you experience it yourself, and now that I have I can tell you it’s beyond heartbreaking. Never for a second will I regret making the decision to chose me, and leave that relationship. But I will forever struggle with the consequences of it and how it affects me and my little girl. You being gone for a few days, or a week at a time is “normal” for us now. But it shouldn’t be normal. This wasn’t the “normal” I ever imagined for my life. It feels incredibly weird most of the time. I feel incomplete, lost and without an anchor. A feeling no parent should ever have to go through, having their little one live an entirely separate life for 1/2 the time. This is something I dreaded most when I considered getting divorced. And honestly, these types of things are part of why I stayed for so long. It felt “easier” to stay in an unhealthy, toxic marriage than to have to share my little one and miss out. I know it’s going to be ok, we have shared so many amazing memories and I know there is a lifetime more to make 🫶🏻

🇮🇹 Italy dump: Lake Como edition 😍 Italy did not disappoint (minus my bloated belly from too much pasta 🍝).. Took a tour of #LakeComo and saw all the sights including Clooney's and 007's villas, even took a tour of a beautiful garden where I spotted my new friends (creatively) getting us oranges 🍊 to sample ( #7 ).. they were terrible ( #8 ) 🤪.. I learned that Italians mostly drink espresso, and they don't really do takeaway. They prefer to enjoy their coffee at the counter and have a moment ☕️. We also walked by a barber shop ( #3 ), and this adorable gentleman came outside to share that he was 3rd generation working in that shop 💈*how sweet is that photo he showed us? 😍 Needless to say.. Ciao! Primavera a Milano: Happy 1st day of Spring from Milan 🇮🇹.. 🌺 I could think of worse places to welcome the first day of Spring! Sunshine, shopping, self care, and lots of walking around so far (apparently, it rained nonstop for weeks before my arrival). Oh.. and pasta.. lots of amazing delicious pasta 🍝🤤. Avoiding dairy has been a bit challenging, but sometimes you have to suffer to enjoy something wonderful 🤷🏻♀️.. However, I do wish I could wear sweatpants every day! 😭🤪🍝🍷🇮🇹 Here's a hot tip for you if you come to Milan. People here get DRESSED. Lots of white pants, sequins (in the afternoon), suits, monochromatic color palettes (my fave 😍), major bags (saw someone carrying the biggest Berkin bag I have seen in person), and oh so very Italian! 🇮🇹 Love love love ❤️ 😍.. I love wandering around in different countries and taking in the fashion, the hair (obviously), and the architecture. The buildings here have a bit of nature infused in/on them, which is amazing to see. The mix of nature and modernity woven into this classical city is just what I would expect from Milano 🤩..
