โšก๐ŸŒธ Electric Shocks During Menopause ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ”ฅ Menopause brings with it a host of unexpected symptoms, and one that often catches women off guard is the sensation of electric shocks. These shocking sensations, often described as sudden jolts or zaps, can be intense and startling. They may occur spontaneously, without warning, and are commonly reported to accompany or follow hot flashes. While the exact cause of these electric shocks is still being researched, it's believed that they're another manifestation of hormonal fluctuations during menopause. The rapid shifts in estrogen levels can impact the nervous system's neurotransmitters, leading to these surprising sensations. Though generally harmless, electric shocks can be unnerving, especially if you're not prepared for them. If they become a concern, don't hesitate to consult your healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation. Depending on your individual needs, your provider may recommend hormone replacement therapy or other treatments to effectively manage this and other menopausal symptoms. Remember, you're not alone on this journeyโ€”seeking support and solutions is key to navigating menopause with grace and ease! ๐Ÿ’–โœจ โœจhttps://www.kaybloom.com/ #MenopauseSymptoms #HormonalFluctuations #SelfCareJourney

Ever wondered what causes those sudden waves of heat? Hot flashes, a common symptom experienced by many, are often triggered by hormonal fluctuations, particularly during menopause. As estrogen levels decline, the body's internal thermostat becomes dysregulated, leading to intense feelings of warmth and flushing of the skin. Other factors, such as stress, spicy foods, caffeine, and alcohol, can also exacerbate hot flashes. Understanding the root causes can help in managing and finding relief from this uncomfortable symptom. Stay cool, everyone! #hotflashes #HormonalFluctuations #hormoneimbalance #stress

Ladies, as we transition through perimenopause and menopause, our bodies go through some amazing changes. But one thing we need to keep an eye on is our bone health. Did you know vitamin D plays a crucial role in keeping our bones strong? Sunshine is our bodyโ€™s natural way to produce vitamin D. It helps our digestive system absorb calcium from the foods we eat, and it tells our kidneys to hold onto that calcium too. This calcium is like tiny building blocks that keep our bones dense and strong, reducing the risk of fractures. However, during perimenopause and menopause, our estrogen levels drop. This can make it harder for our bodies to absorb calcium, even with enough vitamin D. Plus, with busy lives, getting enough sunshine can be a challenge. Hereโ€™s why vitamin D is especially important for women in perimenopause and menopause: * Stronger Bones: Adequate vitamin D helps maintain bone mineral density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis, a condition that weakens bones. * Improved Mood: Some studies suggest vitamin D may play a role in mood regulation, which can be helpful during hormonal fluctuations. * Overall Health: Vitamin D supports a healthy immune system and may even contribute to muscle strength. Not a Sun Worshipper? If getting enough sunlight is difficult, talk to your doctor or nutrionist about a vitamin D supplement. They can check your vitamin D levels with a simple blood test and recommend the appropriate dosage. Remember: A healthy diet rich in calcium is also important. Dairy products, leafy green vegetables, and fortified foods like cereals and orange juice can all contribute to your daily calcium intake. By taking these steps, you can ensure your body has the vitamin D and calcium it needs to maintain strong bones and support your overall health throughout perimenopause and menopause. #perimenopause #menopause #vitaminddeficiency #gettingsunlight #womenshealth #transitioninlife #hormonehealth #healthyaging #bonehealth #osteoporosisprevention #calciumabsorbtion #vitamind #hormonalfluctuations #moodsupport #immunsystem #menapausesupport #menopausetalks #menopositivity #nutrition #nutrionist #wellnesscoach

During pregnancy, the body undergoes significant hormonal changes to support fetal development. Progesterone, produced by the ovaries and placenta, maintains the uterine lining for implantation and prevents premature contractions. Estrogen, also from the ovaries and placenta, promotes fetal growth and regulates other hormones. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), produced by the placenta, supports pregnancy by preventing the breakdown of the corpus luteum and stimulating progesterone production. Relaxin, secreted by the ovaries and placenta, loosens ligaments to prepare the body for childbirth. These hormones collectively regulate various physiological processes crucial for a healthy pregnancy and fetal development. visit website :- www.embryologycourseinstitude.in email :- [email protected] Call us:- +91 73558-20222 #PregnancyHormones #HormonalChanges #BabyOnBoard #PregnancyJourney #Motherhood #ExpectingMom #HormonalBalance #BabyBump #MomToBe #PregnancyHealth #HormonalFluctuations #PrenatalCare #HormonalRegulation #MaternalHealth #FetalDevelopment #HormonalShifts #PregnancyExperience #HormoneSecretion #ParentingPrep #MotherlyLove #sunriseuniversity

Come on ladies have you ever had these? Iโ€™m going to tell you I have them every single month and boy oh boy do they make your eyes water! ๐Ÿ‘€ Iโ€™ll be going about my day as normal and then right out of nowhere they get me- I literally feel like someone has stabbed me right up the bum and then given it a good twist to finish it off! They donโ€™t half catch you off guard when they arrive! Letโ€™s talk about it! Whilst these can be awkward, especially if you are out and about or in the middle of talking to someone and doing your upmost to not move or scream! They are in fact quite common! These rectal pains Aka (proctalgia fugax) occur due to the release of prostaglandins, which cause uterine contractions and inflammation. Some women get period cramps, some women get butthole cramps! ๐Ÿ˜– Hormonal fluctuations during menstruation can influence all pelvic floor muscles, not just the uterus. The decline in oestrogen and progesterone hormones can modify the strength or relaxations of soft tissues, including those in the butt. #periodpains #menstruation #menstrualpains #womensproblems #prostaglandins #hormonalfluctuations #periodcramps #shootingbumpain #womenshealth #periodproblems #periodcramps #menstrualcycle #prostaglandinsideeffects

Pregnancy hormones, essential for gestation, orchestrate a complex symphony within a woman's body. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) rises swiftly after conception, signaling pregnancy on tests. Progesterone, produced by the corpus luteum then the placenta, maintains the uterine lining for implantation and suppresses ovulation. Estrogen surges, supporting fetal development and preparing breasts for lactation. Relaxin loosens ligaments, aiding childbirth. Oxytocin, the love hormone, fosters bonding and triggers contractions during labor. Prolactin stimulates milk production postpartum. Though crucial, hormonal fluctuations can bring nausea, mood swings, and fatigue. Understanding these hormonal shifts empowers women to navigate the transformative journey of pregnancy with grace and resilience. visit website :- www.embryologycourseinstitude.in email :- [email protected] Call us:- +91 73558-20222 #PregnancyHormones #MotherhoodJourney #HormonalChanges #PregnancyHealth #MaternalWellness #HormonalBalance #GestationJourney #ExpectingMom #HormonalFluctuations #MomToBe #PregnancyExperience #PrenatalHealth #EmotionalRide #HormonalSymphony #BumpLife #MaternalHormones #PregnancyJoys #HormonalHarmony #NewLifeAhead #MotherhoodPrep

Feeling zapped? Menopause can bring about some not-so-common symptoms, one of which is electric shock sensations. These sensations are called "paresthesia" and are described as sudden, brief, and intense feelings of electrical impulses or tingling sensations that radiate through the body. They can manifest in various forms, such as tingling in the extremities, a sensation of pins and needles, or sudden jolts akin to electric shocks. While the exact cause of these sensations during menopause isn't fully understood, hormonal fluctuations, nerve sensitivity, and changes in circulation are believed to play a role. Although itโ€™s manageable and doesnโ€™t necessarily indicate an underlying issue, consult your doctor to help manage such symptoms effectively. #Menopause #Paresthesia #ElectricShockSensations #HormonalFluctuations #NerveSensitivity #menopauseaustralia #perimenopause #perimenopausal #countrywomensassociation #businesswomenaustralia #womenshealthaustralia #womenshealthaus #businesswomenaustralia #womeninbusinessaustralia #businesswomenau

Why are women more affected by autoimmunity than men?โ  โ  We donโ€™t know for sure, but we do have some clues.โ  โ  ~ 84% of people with autoimmune disorders are typically women of childbearing age.โ  โ  Some theories behind this are:โ  โ  โžก๏ธGender differences in the immune systemโ€”science has shown that the female immune system is more sophisticated than a manโ€™s (which makes sense given that women are able to carry babies). Women naturally have stronger inflammatory responses than men when their immune systems are triggered, and inflammation plays a key role in many autoimmune diseases.โ  โ  โžก๏ธSex hormonesโ€”many autoimmune diseases tend to improve and flare along with female hormonal fluctuations, including pregnancy, and menopause. This suggests that hormones and hormonal events may play a role.โ  โ  โžก๏ธGenetic susceptibilityโ€”there is some evidence that variations in the X chromosome may be related to susceptibility to certain autoimmune diseases. But genetics alone are not a reliable predictor of risk.โ  โ  โžก๏ธHistory of pregnancyโ€”it is not uncommon for women to develop an autoimmune disease after pregnancy. In fact, 44.3% of women who develop an autoimmune condition have onset after their first year of pregnancy. This may be due to those hormonal fluctuations we just discussed or the stress and sleep deprivation that accompanies childbirth and adjusting to the life change. New research has also shown a link to microchimeric fetal cells with the onset of autoimmunity after pregnancy.โ  โ  The science is far from settled on why women are at higher risk of autoimmune disease than men (especially postpartum).โ  โ  But a functional medicine approach helps us understand and address the autoimmune trial, which can be a tremendous help to those with it autoimmune issues like #Hashimotoโ€™s and a whole host of others. โ  1๏ธโƒฃgeneticsโ  2๏ธโƒฃenvironmentโ  3๏ธโƒฃgut healthโ  โ  For more insights on autoimmunity and how it affects women, check out our article. Itโ€™s a conversation not many have had, but what does a normal discharge (cervical mucous) look like. Well it changes throughout the month in response to our hormones. During the period there should be no cervical mucous, just menstrual blood. As Oestrogen rises and you get ready to ovulate, the CM will become wet and slippery, culminating at ovulation. Once you ovulate and Progesterone is on the scene, CM dries up becoming dry and claggy (can be white, not copious). As Progesterone drops before the period you might have a small increase in CM again. . . . . #CervicalMucus #WomensHealth #HormonalChanges #OvulationCycle #FertilityAwareness #MenstrualCycle #BodyLiteracy #ReproductiveHealth #KnowYourBody #HormonalBalance #OvulationSymptoms #PeriodAwareness #Gynecology #HealthEducation #SelfAwareness #FertilityTracking #CycleAwareness #HormonalFluctuations #CervicalHealth #NormalDischarge #EducateYourself

๐ŸŒธIt wonโ€™t be an exaggeration if we say the skin is the mirror of the body. It reflects a lot of internal diseases, especially those due to hormonal imbalances๐ŸŒธ โค๏ธAcneโค๏ธ Acne seen due to hormonal conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and Cushing Syndrome may be more severe than usual and may not respond to normal medications โค๏ธBlack Spotsโค๏ธ Acanthosis nigricans may look like a black, velvety discoloration that appears around the neck. It can be found on the armpits and thighs and rarely on the face and palms as well. It is commonly seen in people with diabetes, a condition in which the pancreas creates little or no insulin, , obesity, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). โค๏ธDry skin โค๏ธ Although dry skin is generally hereditary, it can be a symptom of thyroid disease in a few individuals. Dry skin is more likely when you have diabetes. Dry skin also causes itchiness. โค๏ธThin, frail skin โค๏ธ Thin or frail skin can be seen in Cushing Syndrome, along with obesity and facial swelling. As the skin becomes very thin, the blood vessels may be clearly visible. In pregnant women, stretch marks can occur on the abdomen due to the thinning of the skin. โค๏ธDandruffโค๏ธ Chronic or severe dandruff can be a symptom of certain rare hormone-producing tumors โค๏ธBlack/brown patches or spots โค๏ธ Dark spots are seen in many conditions, including melasma, and are commonly seen on the face, mainly on the cheeks and under the eyes. It develops during menopause and, in some cases, during pregnancy. Although it is hereditary, changes in female hormones also contribute to it. Dark spots on the body can be a symptom of Addison's Disease, caused by underactive adrenal glands. Naturally dark areas, like the mucus membrane inside the mouth, the creases or folds on the hands, the genitals, and the nipples, become darker. Mood swings are a common symptom that many women experience during perimenopause. Hormonal fluctuations, specifically changes in estrogen and progesterone levels, can contribute to these mood changes. During perimenopause, estrogen levels start to decline, which can affect the production and regulation of neurotransmitters in the brain, such as serotonin and dopamine. These neurotransmitters play a crucial role in mood regulation, and any imbalance can lead to mood swings and emotional instability. Mood swings during perimenopause can vary in intensity and duration. Some women may experience mild irritability, while others may have more pronounced mood swings, including feelings of sadness, anxiety, or anger. Itโ€™s important to remember that perimenopause is a significant life transition, and the physical and emotional changes can be challenging to navigate. Self-care practices such as regular exercise, getting enough sleep, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy diet can help alleviate mood swings. Additionally, seeking support from loved ones, joining support groups, or talking to a healthcare professional can provide valuable guidance and coping strategies during this transitional phase. #PerimenopauseMoodSwings #HormonalFluctuations #SelfCare #Support #ProfessionalGuidance #Perimenopause #HormonalChanges #EmotionalWellness www.jessicamurchie.ca

Breast changes in pregnancy differ among women, and while typically temporary and part of natural breastfeeding preparation. Here's what you may experience... ๐ŸŒธ Enlargement and Tenderness: One of the earliest signs of pregnancy-related breast changes is an increase in size and tenderness. Hormonal fluctuations, primarily the rise in estrogen and progesterone, cause the mammary glands to enlarge in preparation for breastfeeding. ๐ŸŒธ Darkening of Areolas: The areolas, the pigmented areas around the nipples, often darken during pregnancy. This is attributed to increased blood flow and hormonal influences. Additionally, Montgomery's tubercles, small bumps on the areolas, may become more pronounced. ๐ŸŒธ Vein Visibility: The increased blood supply to the breasts may make veins more visible. This is a normal part of the physiological changes as the body ensures an adequate blood flow to support the growing breast tissue. ๐ŸŒธ Lumps and Bumps: As the breasts prepare for milk production, some women may notice small lumps or bumps. These are often the result of the milk ducts and glands expanding and getting ready for breastfeeding. ๐ŸŒธ Sensitivity and Tingling: Many women experience heightened sensitivity and occasional tingling sensations in their breasts during pregnancy. This is due to increased blood flow and changes in nerve endings. ๐ŸŒธ Fullness and Heaviness: The breasts may feel fuller and heavier as they accumulate more fatty tissue and glandular development. This can contribute to a sense of fullness and increased weight in the chest area. ๐ŸŒธ Stretch Marks: Rapid changes in breast size and structure may lead to the development of stretch marks on the breast skin. These are common during pregnancy and are caused by the stretching of the skin. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿค— If you have any concerns or unusual symptoms you get in touch with a healthcare professional during regular prenatal check-ups for guidance and reassurance. #PregnancyBreastChanges #MaternalWellness #HormonalFluctuations #BreastEnlargement #TenderBreasts #AreolaDarkening #MontgomerysTubercles #VeinVisibility #MilkProductionPreparation #SensitivityDuringPregnancy #BreastFullness

Do you track your cycle? Earlier this week I shared a post about the different phases of your cycle. The more in tune we are with our bodies, the more likely we are to listen to hunger cues, fuel our bodies in ways that we know help us feel good, and we can start to recognize patterns within our cycles. Let's talk about 4 great reasons to track your cycle. 1. Our Cycle acts as an indicator of our health. If you experience irregularities, strong premenstrual symptoms, or a lengthening/shortening of your cycle these can all be indicators that something might be going on in your body. Familiarizing ourselves with the ebbs and flows of our monthly hormonal shifts can really help us to focus on what we consider "normal" and recognize signs that things are different. 2. We can better understand our body's stress response. Our cycles can be impacted by many things, high stress, lack of nourishment, sleep disruptions and/or over training. When we are in periods of high stress we can often see our cycles shorten (or even disappear if we are experiencing LEA or RED-S) 3. We can acknowledge and recognize patters. Ever feel like everything your partner/family does is wrong/annoying? Then the next day start your period and think Oh... That is what it is. Being able to recognize that, prepare for it, and educate those around you can be a great way to be more in touch with your body. 4. Empowerment. Instead of feeling like our body/hormones are in control and we are just along for the ride, we can start to work with our hormonal fluctuations and can support them through balanced diets, eating enough food, and even strategies like seed cycling. Do you track your cycle? If you do, what tool do you prefer to use? I have been using the Health app on my Iphone and it has been a great tool! #hormonalhealth #hormonalfluctuations #gettoknowyourcycle #getintouchwithyourbody #holistichealth #ottawanutrition #chelseymaxwellnutrition #trackyourcycle
