Certains pourraient penser cela redondant mais pas du tout. C'est très enrichissant et permet d'apprendre de nouvelles choses avec d'autres points de vue 🙂 Le récit est centré sur la guerre sans fin et Valcotta. On a un bon dynamisme grâce à l'alternance des points de vue des deux protagonistes. Quête, espionnage, intrigues politiques sont bien mis en avant. La plume est fluide. La lecture est très agréable et addictive. On apprend plusieurs choses, comment s'est déroulé tel ou tel événement. La fin est dingue et choquante. Vivement la suite !! . Les personnages sont forts, bien développés et incroyables. La romance/amour impossible est bien faite et bien dosée. Elle ne prend pas trop de place. Zarrah est une femme loyale, déterminée et forte. Elle veut se sacrifier pour le bien de son peuple. Elle cache ses émotions et est torturée par son passé douloureux. Keris, lui, est un personnage complexe qu'on apprend enfin à comprendre et à aimer. Il est un grand stratège, intelligent et bon mais aveuglé par ses sentiments, notamment à la fin du récit où son comportement pose problème. Leur relation est belle, émouvante. C'est bien développé. J'ai aimé les apparitions de Lara et Aren. Hâte de tous les revoir. Ça promet une suite époustouflante 😁 . . Il y a quelques semaines, j’ai décidé de lire Le pont des tempêtes qui avait un auto-cadeau de Noël ! Vu tous les supers avis que j’ai pu voir, j’avais hâte de commencer cette série. Lara vient de comprendre qu’entre elle et ses 11 sœurs, une seule survivra à cette soirée. L’une d’elles sera envoyée Ithicana pour épouser le roi Aren et les autres seront assassinées. Lara décide que celle-ci sera elle. Contre la volonté première de son père, elle sera l’espionne qui devra lui livrer les secrets de ce royaume voisin. J’ai eu beaucoup de mal avec Lara. Elle est assez froide et malgré tout ce qu’elle observe, tout ce que lui révèle Aren, elle continue de croire les mensonges de son père. Certes, son enfance n’a été que torture et endoctrinement mais pfff... elle a fait que je n’ai pas trop accroché à cette histoire pendant bien les 3/4 du récit. En revanche, j’ai adoré Aren ! Il est hyper attachant, intelligent et plein d’humanité. C’est une lecture qui a été en demi-teinte pour moi. Je me suis assez ennuyée pendant longtemps, à tel point que j’ai dû mettre ma lecture en pause avant de la reprendre plusieurs semaines plus tard. Et au final, j’ai adoré la fin ! Elle est plus rythmée et Lara se dévoile enfin. Pour le coup, j’ai enchainé avec le tome 2 directement et je dois dire que j’aime beaucoup plus ! En esta segunda parte, se exploran más a fondo otros lugares de este worldbuilding tan increíble que ha creado la autora, tan variado como desde la selva hasta el desierto 🏜 La trama política me parece una pasada, todo es tan intrincado y está tan bien entramado ⚔️ El 🩵romance💚 me ha dado muchos momentos que me han puesto los sentimientos a flor de piel, he sufrido mucho 💔 pero es precioso a la vez, Lara y Aren con muy especiales y se van a quedar conmigo para siempre ❤️🩹 El nivel de badassery de Lara se pasa, y no falta el toque de smut ❤️🔥 Dato importante: es una bilogía con respecto al romance y los povs de esta pareja, pero la trama política queda abierta para los siguientes libros, donde tenemos povs de otras parejas diferentes, de las que algunos personajes ya han aparecido. Creo que no hace falta que diga que estoy deseando seguir con la saga, la próxima pareja tiene pintaza. The Endless War ended me 😭 but in the best way possible!! Keris is one of my new favorite MMC and I don’t know why more people don’t love him!! He would literally move heaven and earth for Zarrah but is one of the most intelligent men I’ve seen. Zarrah is just pure badass. 100%. I loved her from the first time we met her but this story only added to her character. I hope we see more from her!! The plot twists, the political scheming, the soul wrenching love, and even the little icky parts of prison made this book amazing. It was an absolute wild ride and so fast paced I couldn’t keep up sometimes. It will have you hanging onto the book (or your headphones) until the very end!! I can’t recommend this series enough!! ROMANTASY - zdarza Wam się sięgać po ten gatunek? :) Choć czytam fantasy, po raz pierwszy miałam okazję sięgnąć po fantasy… romantyczne. Wiem, że jest to powieść obecnie bardzo popularny gatunek, jednak ze względu na mój stosunek do romansów, trzymałam się od niego z daleka. Gdyby nie to, że ogromnie cenię wydawnictwo @galeria_ksiazki - wiem, że książki, które publikują są jakościowe - i gdyby nie fakt, że wydanie „Losu zapisanego krwią” absolutnie mnie urzekło, pewnie nie sięgnęłabym po tę powieść. I sporo bym straciła, ponieważ podczas lektury tej historii, naprawdę świetnie się bawiłam :) Dodatkowo, wydanie w twardej oprawie, barwione brzegi, a nawet tasiemka, która pełni rolę zakładki, sprawiły, że czytanie „Losu zapisanego krwią” osiągnęło wyższy poziom przyjemności :) *** Nazwisko Danielle L. Jensen włączyło w mojej głowie ostrzegawcze światełko. Kojarzyłam tę autorkę głównie z młodzieżowych romantasy. Dalej od mojego bieguna czytelniczych zainteresowań nie mogła więc już się znaleźć. Nie żałuję jednak, że zaryzykowałam, ponieważ „Los zapisany krwią” to zupełnie nowe oblicze Jensen i kawał naprawdę dobrego fantasy, a kiedy jeszcze podwalinami pod historię Frei okazała się mitologia nordycka, przepadłam. Nic nie jest w stanie przebić tego skandynawskiego klimatu (no, może jedynie słowiański), wszechobecnych wikingów, nordyckich wierzeń i tradycji. Momentami żałowałam wręcz, że było ich jeszcze za mało! Rewelacja! Jeśli zaś chodzi o samą fabułę, relację romantyczną, która w romantasy jest przecież najistotniejsza, to była naprawdę na poziomie, a powiedzmy sobie szczerze - to właśnie tego wątku bałam się najbardziej. Z perspektywy mojej „czterdziestki”, zachowanie Frei może być mocno irytujące, jednak hej, każdy z nas był kiedyś młodym, zakochanym i nie zawsze racjonalnym. Przymykałam więc na to oko :) CD. ⬇️

| AVIS LECTURE | 📚 Le Pont des Tempêtes - Danielle L. jensen 4,5 ⭐️ Le roman qui m’a fait sortir de ma panne de lecture ! Je ne m’attendais pas à grand-chose en ouvrant ce livre mais contre toute attente, je l’ai littéralement dévoré ! Même si le début était un petit peu long, j’ai totalement été immergé dans le récit. Il y a ici tout ce que j’aime : un worldbuilding bien construit, des enjeux politiques, des royaumes en conflits, de la trahison, de l’action, des personnages attachants, un ennemies to lovers, un slow burn... L’écriture est fluide avec des descriptions très intéressantes. J’ai adoré m’immerger dans les paysages décrits par l’auteure. Les personnages sont très bien construits, principaux comme secondaires. Lara, une héroine Badass qui a été entrainé depuis son enfance à être la parfaite épouse mais surtout une espionne hors pairs ainsi que Aren un personnage masculin charismatique craint de tous. Deux héros qui chacun aspire à sauver son royaume, de manière différente, avec pourtant le même objectif. Même si parfois certains passages étaient prévisibles, J’ai passé un très bon moment durant ma lecture et fort heureusement que j’avais le deuxième tome à portée de main parce qu’il m’était impossible d’attendre de connaître la suite ✨ L’avez-vous lu? ⭐️⭐️.5 - A Fate Inked in Blood . Spoilers ahead . This book had so much potential but Freya was infuriating!! 2.5 stars seems like a stretch. The only reason I didn’t give it a one was because the concept was interesting and Bjorn really saved it. . Their chemistry seemed so off — at one point they were strangers and the next they were claiming each other as ‘mine.’ He also must have patience of gold dealing with Freya and her constant hot and cold decisions. I don’t understand how he wasn’t frustrated or annoyed at her when she ran away with his horse and then tried to kill Ylva. (Or frustrated with all the other irrational decisions she made) . I was also able to see the plot twist so far ahead. I had two suspects and, turns out, they were both the traitors! A predicable ending isn’t the worst but I was so over the book at this point and really trying to push through so that I didn’t DNF 90% in. . Po książki jakiego autora lub autorki sięgacie z automatu? Danielle urzekła mnie Królestwem mostu i Mrocznymi wybrzeżami, od tamtej pory jestem jej wielką fanką. Kiedy zobaczyłam, że kolejna seria będzie w klimacie nordyckim to od razu oznaczyłam ją jako mush have. Niestety nie była to miłość od pierwszych stron. Wątek główny wydawał się naprawdę ciekawy i ze sporym potencjałem, bohaterowie którzy mają w sobie krew bogów zawsze mnie kupują. Jednak tutaj czegoś mi zabrakło. Freya wydała mi się dość płaska i nie zdołałam poczuć do niej większych emocji. Natomiast jej relacja z Bjornem była jednym z większych plusów tej książki i mówię to ja, osoba nie przepadająca za wątkami romantycznymi. W poprzednich książkach Jensen mocno urzekły mnie stworzone przez nią światy, tutaj zabrakło mi głębi i całość wyszła dość schematycznie co chyba zasmuciło mnie najbardziej. Natomiast zakończenie nadrobiło wiele tych braków. Nagle akcja przyspieszyła, atmosfera się zagęściła i dopiero wtedy mocniej się zaangażowałam. Mam nadzieję, że kolejny tom rozwieje moje wszystkie wątpliwości i uzupełni luki, które tutaj mi przeszkadzały. Wciąż wierzę w Jensen i liczę, że to tylko pojedyncza wpadka spowodowana presją stworzenia kolejnego hitu. I was very captivated the first half of the book. I felt at times I wish the author went into more descriptive moments of the world building or the scenes as it was hard to imagine. I also am new to the mythology aspect here and felt at times it was confusing to follow but I think she did a good job keeping it simple enough. I really liked Bjorn as a character and Freya was good but sometimes her inner thoughts drove me nuts a little haha. It was hard for her to seem helpless a lot of the time. I think she is a good FMC at times but at times is still growing and I cannot wait to see her grow more confidence in herself! Sometimes their romance felt more like lust than a true deeper relationship but I could see that changing in the next book as we find out more. Overall I gave it a four for being unique as it feels different than any Romantasy I’ve read, and it did keep me mostly captivated throughout the book! I also really enjoyed the audio version of this with the Nordic accents and highly recommend it that if you enjoy audiobooks 😍 that really made the story come alive! “born-in-fire, i reminded myself… you were born in fire, you can do this.” 🌿🌊🔥⛰️⚔️ a fate inked in blood by danielle l jensen — 4.5⭐️ (last slide has quotes/ possible spoilers!) dare i say this might be one of THE fantasy books of 2024!!!! this was such a wonderful mix of everything i love most in a fantasy and so undeniably unique. picture a norse inspired world, with a strong female warrior and a love interest who she can’t have (did someone say forbidden romance?!). throw in some forced proximity (and training sessions), lots of battle scenes, and you’ve got a fate inked in blood. i loved bjorn’s character so much! his charm and wit was so entertaining — his first mention is literally ENGRAVED in my head. top 10 book scenes of all time. freya was so fierce and wonderful — the literal embodiment of female rage. i was rooting for her from the start. the romance was giving exactly what it was supposed to — the tension, the jokes and the slow burn forbidden aspect were absolutely delicious!!! there were quite a few plot twists towards the end, only one of which i managed to guess, and i loved that it kept me on my toes. only the good books have plot twists you don’t see coming and this was executioned so well. it’s safe to say the ending is going to haunt me until i have book 2 in my hands. [side note: i started watching the tv show ‘viking’s’ alongside reading this (because i can never do anything in halves) and if you’re into norse fantasy like me, i have a feeling you’ll really like it. i think it just made the reading experience that much better, being able to understand the viking world. just check tw because it is quite graphic!]
Absolutely stunning. I loved Danielle L. Jensen's A Fate Inked in Blood, unlike the other Fairy Loot reads I've had so far this is not a debut but a perfectly crafted masterpiece by an already established author, I am so pleased to hear she has a back catalogue for me to get my teeth into. This story is set in Norse mythology where individuals blessed with the blood of one of the many Norse gods harbour magical abilities amongst a background of warring vikings. The story follows Freya, a fishwife married to a man she hates for the sake of her family, who dreams of following in her father's and brother's footsteps and becoming a warrior. Freya is a fantastic heroine, strong and feisty and you route for her the whole way through. I cannot recommend this highly enough and cannot wait for the yet untitled Book #2 to come out in Spring next year. I’m not typically very good at mythology and had never read a book with Norse mythology before, and while I did have to google the meaning of one or two words I found this book really gripping. Freya is a wonderful main character, she’s strong but not unrealistically so, and witty. I really liked the magic system and think this would be perfect for fans of Throne of Glass and From Blood and Ash, the romance was realllly slow burn but not too spicy. I saw a lot of the twists and turns coming, but I’m really keen to read book 2 of this duology when it’s released! I jakież było moje zdziwienie, gdy (jak na znane mi już standardy gatunku), dostałam mocne i zaskakujące otwarcie 👀, fantastyczny świat 🌍 i fabułę 📜 nie będące tylko płytkim tłem dla historii Lary i Arena 💞, ale rozbudowaną przestrzenią z barwnymi opisami, różnorodnymi zwyczajami i konfliktem militarnym ⚔️ Tutejsza akcja nie należy do wartkich i dynamicznych 💥. Fabuła pierwszego tomu rozwija się powoli, skupia na strategii ♟️ i buduje napięcie, które wybucha pod koniec 🌋 i wpływa na dynamikę drugiego, gdzie dzieje się więcej i gdzie mamy więcej walk i potyczek 🗡️. Co mi odpowiadało! 🤭 Przeszkadzało mi jedynie podobieństwo nazw własnych. Serin, Serrith, Sarhina... Momentami musiałam czytać zdanie ponownie, bo mieszało mi się, o kogo/co w nim chodzi 😵💫. Cała reszta, od warstwy językowej po płynność czytania, wypada naprawdę dobrze! 💗 O ile przy "Królestwie mostu" nawet nie pomyślałabym, że mam z ręku romantasy ❤️🔥, tak w "Zdradzieckiej królowej" już trochę bardziej to odczułam 🫣. Wiele decyzji i działań Lary i Arena dyktowało łączące ich uczucie 💞. Niemniej autorka ponownie mnóstwo uwagi poświęca nie tylko tej dwójce, ale i otaczającemu ich światu, który opisuje tak wyraziście, że wydaje się aż namacalny, rzeczywisty (choć znalazłam tu kilka fragmentów kłócących się z logiką. Ogółem odniosłam wrażenie, jakby ten tom został napisany w pośpiechu...? Nie wiem, mogę tylko domniemywać). Dobra, dobra. Już sobie ponarzekałam 😝. Ale narzekanie to dotyczy tak naprawdę drobnostki, bo serię Danielle L. Jensen uważam za niesłychanie udaną i wartą uwagi! 💜 "Zdradziecka królowa" to satysfakcjonujący finał historii Lary i Arena. Celowo nie mówię finał serii, bo wiem, że jest ona pociągnięta dalej 📚, by przekazać narrację dwójce innych bohaterów, których zdążyliśmy już poznać tutaj. B O O K R E V I E W KNIHA: A Fate Inked in Blood AUTOR: Danielle L. Jensen Moje první kniha od Danielle L. Jensen, po které jsem popravdě sáhla jen kvůli tomu, že obsahuje severskou mytologii a vikingy, což já, jak víte, naprosto miluji. Nepopřu, že jakmile na mě někde jen lehce foukne závan severu a všeho, co je s tím spojené, okamžitě zpozorním. Takže když na mě tehdy vyskočilo reel od autorky s touhle knihou, bylo mi jasné, že ji budu muset mít. Trochu jsem netušila, co mám čekat. Myslela jsem si, že to bude “čistě” vikingský příběh ve stylu Ragnara Lothbroka, proto mě mile překvapilo to promyšlené propojení s mytologií a s magií severských bohů. Danielle má toto vážně dobře promyšlené a já v tomhle před ní smekám. Co se týká hlavních hrdinů a všech dalších postav, znovu smekám, jelikož za mne tu byla až neuvěřitelně dobře popsaná mentalita vikingů. Ten styl přemýšlení, jak ve všem, co se jim dělo viděli božskou přítomnost, též jejich oddanost a víru v osudy, které jim určují bohové. Prostě tu za mě bylo vše, co na nich mám ráda a co mě k nim táhne. Jen co mne zamrzelo, avšak to není vinna autorky ale má, že jsem kolikrát knihu dost dobře odhalila v tom, co se následně stane a nějak tušila, kdo se jak zachová a jak je to s těmi bohy a jejich vlivem. V severské mytologii se pohybuju, baví mne a fascinuje. Co se týká vikingů, jsou mojí vášní. Proto tím, že to “znám”, dokázala jsem předvídat a rozpoznat i ty nejmenší detaily. I tak mě ale mile překvapil konec, který mě naprosto nažhavil na další díl, který bohužel ještě není vydaný. De junibox van @somanypages is een bijzondere, we weten al welk boek er in zal zitten! Ik was dan ook heel erg benieuwd naar deze duologie van Danielle L. Jensen. Via Vinted vond ik nog een limited edition van beide boeken. ❤️ Koninkrijk der Bruggen las ik zeer snel uit, van begin tot eind werd ik meegesleept in het verhaal. Het was ook een heel ander soort verhaal dan ik tot dan toe gelezen had. Ook de wereld waarin het zich afspeelt was iets helemaal anders dan de werelden met magische wezens waar ik de laatste maanden veel tijd in heb doorgebracht. Over Koningin van verraad deed ik wat langer. Toch is ook dat een heel spannend verhaal en bleef ik tot na middernacht op om het boek te kunnen uitlezen. “Il existe autant de chemins que de voyageurs.” Après mon coup de cœur pour Le Pont des Tempêtes, il était impossible pour moi de ne pas foncer sur cet ouvrage. Danielle L.Jensen nous propose de nouveau une histoire originale et bien menée ; et elle a également réussi une deuxième fois à créer un personnage féminin au caractère bien trempé n’ayant pas froid aux yeux. Teriana fait partie du peuple des Maarins ; il s’agit d’un peuple redoutable, le seul à pouvoir traverser la mer Sans Fin, et les Sombres Rivages -leur territoire- sont inaccessibles aux autres peuples et chaque Maarin doit en protéger le secret. Mais elle est contrainte, pour protéger sa meilleure amie, de guider Marcus, commandant d’une célèbre légion impitoyable, jusqu’à ses terres. On retrouve l’autrice dans ce qu’elle fait de mieux, une fantasy pas trop longue, avec des enjeux clairs et des péripéties qui rythment l’histoire sans la surcharger. Les personnages sont cohérents et uniques, et leurs relations se tissent progressivement en nous faisant passer par tout un tas d’émotions. Ses ouvrages sont une valeur sûre lorsque l’on souhaite lire une fantasy entraînante et fluide (avec, bien sûr, juste ce qu’il faut de romance). Je l’ai trouvé un tout petit peu moins prenant que Le Pont des Tempêtes, qui reste donc pour le moment mon favori de l’autrice ! Je n’ai pas encore pris le temps de lire le tome 2 car je sais qu’on n’y suit pas les mêmes personnages, ce qui a tendance à me faire fuir. 😭 Je serais curieuse de savoir si vous l’avez lu, car j’ai l’impression qu’il a fait beaucoup moins de bruit que Le Pont des Tempêtes !
