If you look at the internal workings of any system, personal, professional or political no matter what the results or metrics of success are, when there is harm being done or toxic energy at play I can almost always guarantee you it is because it is operating in the traditional pattern where more = more. Sure, it’ll look great on the outside but rotten on the inside. I want to be part of a world where things that appear good on the outside are even better on the inside. I want everything I do to be a reflection of that desire because I know that this shift in leadership is the most vital ingredient for catalyzing all of us toward a more fulfilling life. For me this shift looks like this. On a personal level, I believe I should have access to healthcare and the freedom to choose what treatments are best for me, so I believe that is true for all women and so I advocate and share my experience and knowledge and offer support where I can. On a professional level I work to develop systems that lead to not depletion of our self, of our resources and of our energy in the name of better results but to bring life and energy and meaningful outcomes to the impact we have. I bring these values into my business and I center life and regenerative outcomes creating from a place of abundance with intention. Politically it means that my freedom and liberation should not come at the expense of another's freedom or liberation. Spiritually, it means I pray hard for all of us, it means I believe in us. I believe that we are the ones we’ve been waiting for and I believe that we are the ones that can and will say yes to this calling. As a human I see our leaders failing us in this way, fighting over land, using humans as bargaining chips and hoarding control over resources and care. I will always stand with and for women in support of choice, bodily autonomy, black lives, end the occupation of Palestine, stop the genocide, free the hostages and not lose hope. Honored to give the inaugural Joseph Charles Flanagan Visiting Professor Lecture at the Will Eye Hospital this week.🙏🙏🙏 Through training I read Dr. Flanagan’s papers on lacrimal sac tumors, dacryocystorhinostomy, and how to remove deep orbital tumors, and so many more. It was an honor to meet a man who had already taught me so much. Last night I learned a bit more as his fellows spoke about him and the family he created through his fellowship. I aspire to inspire the way he does. I also enjoyed spending the day with the @wills_eye residents, faculty, and family. What a brilliant, passionate, happy group of change makers! Dr. Haller’s leadership and support for her Wills family were inspirational.
