Yes!!!!!! I'm all smiles today because its day 5 of my #5daywaterfast. Oh how I slept like a baby yesterday. Still contemplating if to break or go on cos I feel very strong but the day isn't over yet. Who knows🤷‍♂️. And the health challenge that made me embark on this? Yes! Great changes also and will talk about it soon. My people, fasting works if done properly. These are some Amazing benefits: ✔It gives the digestive system a rest. ✔Can help you beat addictions. ✔It is a great way to start a healthy diet. ✔ Normalizes insulin sensitivity. ✔Can reduce your hunger levels ✔Promotes the detoxification process ✔it whitens the eyes and clears the complexion. ✔Can reduce high blood pressure. If If you've never fasted before start with 16hrs and keep it simple. Your coffee and green tea is allowed it will help you with the hunger. Don't listen to outside distraction, you won't starve. During a fast your body uses stored fat as energy. Most of us have plenty of that. You will not starve. The most important thing is not to push yourself to the extreme. Do as your body can carry you. No Scheduled soccer games = early morning 3 mile run, bike, and walk. Choices!! They are such a big part of our everyday life, and no matter how many times you and I decide to go with the flow and let life “work out,” in the end we all make choices that will have a lasting impact. You might not see the impact right away, tomorrow, or a month from now, but you will feel the impact of your good or bad choices. I wanted to shout out this challenger and share a bit of her why for joining our wellness group. “ I have 4 kids. I have to do a lifestyle change for them, they deserve me in their lives, my future grandchildren deserve me in their lives, my students present and future. I want to change to thrive and like myself. Goal? To lose 100lbs. That’s a long term goal. Small goals: to get healthy mentally when it comes to food, drink only water, and to get down to 199, out of the 200s. Time frame? A year. Maybe even more. I know this will take time and dedication.” Woman in our group show up with their commitment to become the person they have decided to be, they are making lifestyle changes and they are making it work for them and their families. Your excuse or problem or whatever it is you want to tell me that is holding you back from becoming the person you decide to be is based most likely on the false assumption that you imagine you can’t have what you want, so you don’t think about it or work towards it. Or at least you can’t have what you want fast enough, so you decide not to put in the grit and sacrifice to get where you wan to be.
