We were at the beach this past weekend so I wanted to share these three books since they all have beach covers… but each of these is more than just a beachy read so you will want to add them to your summer reading list! Tourist Season- I love @authorbrendanovak and always look forward to her new summer book! This new release is all about romance and suspense. Her books always have such good characters and you will become fully intwined with Ismay, Remy and Bo. How much do you trust your own heart? I would recommend not only this one, but be sure to check out more of Novak’s books… she has so many!! The Seaside Sisters- I just finished this one right before we got to the beach and really enjoyed it. It was a good read that is perfect for grabbing while you put your feet in the sand and waste the day away. All the women in the story are just a little lost and find help in each other just when they need it. They all find the confidence to take the next steps in their lives and each one will bring a smile to your face! I recommend you check out @pamelamkelley if you haven’t yet. The Same Bright Stars- I just started this one and I’m excited because all of @joellawriting books have such great reviews. What a beautiful day! Perfect biking weather, dry, sunny, mid 20s. Had a good ride with my son over to Dunoon, the long way round rather than catching the ferry. The main tourist routes were busy with tourist traffic, like the A82 beside Loch Lomond, but off the beaten track things were nice and quiet and much fun was had. Had chilled out lunch and ice cream by the sea. First but of beach time this year! Even if it was pebbly beach, still great for skimming stones mind. Even spotted another blue 2003 foxeye Fazer in Dunoon, just like I used to have. *PROBABLY SPOILERS* This one was… kinda weird? But in a good way. I kinda expected more calm beachy vibes like I got recently with the Elin Hilderbrand ones. But this was not THAT! There was what I suspected from early on, did turn out to be what happened (must be all the true crime podcasts) but Novak really had me second guessing myself for a while there. I liked that I was made to almost want to like Bastian, or least feel bad for him. And I REALLY liked that Ismay didn’t continue to give Remy a chance to get her back even if there was times she was really believing all his lies. And especially happy for Jack’s happy ending. Maybe even more than Bo and Ismay? Idk. What I didn’t totally love; the way it seemed to sporadically switch povs. As in 3rd person to 1st as on character than randomly it’s another characters POV. Maybe I’m just used POV shifts in a more organized way, ie chapter breaks. Maybe I need to try reading more different and unique writing styles. But for my little bit ADHD brain, it felt a little chaotic and took me out other story at times. Final opinion: I enjoyed it and definitely recommend to someone looking for a light mystery with some family drama. In a notice, the Divisional Forest Officer of Mangaldai Wildlife Division said, "The Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari for visitors/tourists in Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve shall remain closed with effect from May 15, 2024 for the tourist season 2024-25 until further notice." Earlier, the Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve authority said that the elephant safari in the national park will remain closed for visitors and tourists from May 1 and the Jeep safari from May 16. This as Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming opens for the busy summer season, and according to news agencies, wildlife advocates are leading a call for a boycott of the state over laws that give people wide leeway to kill gray wolves with little oversight. ABC News reports the social media accounts of Wyoming's tourism agency are being flooded with comments urging people to steer clear of the Cowboy State amid accusations that a man struck a wolf with a snowmobile, taped its mouth shut, and showed off the injured animal at a sublette county bar before killing it.
