"New Smyrna is one of the oldest European settled communities in Florida. It is, in fact, documented as the third oldest, founded in 1768. The Old Stone Wharf was considered the center of colony life in the 1770s. Necessary for the import and export of goods, it was built of coquina. Built by Turnbull colonists in 1768 it formed a terminus of the Kings Road completed in 1771 and marked the beginning point of all of the early surveys of the community. —Wharf Casual Seafood— 10/10 A great, casual seafood spot. They have several locations - this was in Alexander City but there’s one coming to Leeds this summer so I wanted to be sure y’all knew about it! They offer much more than seafood, if that’s not your thing - so good for a group to please everyone. (I added pictures of my honorable mentions that I can’t wait to try next bc they looked that good.) The blackened mahi tacos were so good and the pico de gallo and feta were the perfect touches. The fries were crispy and came with some type of aioli. (16) The price to quality ratio is definitely there and we will be back time and time again. We can’t wait to have one closer to home!
