Celebramos y recordamos el nacimiento del baterista Inglés Phillip "Pip" Pyle, nacido el 4 de abril de 1950 en el pueblo de Sawbridgeworth, Inglaterra. Pip es mejor conocido por haber sido miembro de tres bandas fundamentales de la escena Canterbury: Gong, Hatfield and the North y National Health. Con Gong, tocó en el segundo álbum, «Camembert Electrique» (1971), en el soundtrack de un documental francés llamado «Continental Circus» (1972) y después de muchos años volvió a tocar en Gong, en el disco «Shapeshifter» (1992). Con Hatfield and the North participó en los dos discos de la banda: el álbum homónimo de 1974 y «The Rotter's Club» (1975), para luego tocar en las reuniones de 1990 y 2005. Entre 1975 y 1981 estuvo en los tres álbumes de National Health: «National Health» (1978), «Of Queues and Cures» (1978) y «D.S.Coda» (1982). También entre 1978 y 1988 fue parte de la banda Soft Heap, que tenía entre sus filas a ex miembros de Soft Machine y National Health. En 1984 formó una banda orientada al jazz, llamada Pip Pyle's Equip'Out, que en forma intermitente se mantuvo hasta 1995. En 1998 realizó su único disco solista llamado «Seven Year Itch» que, entre otros invitados, contaba con Jakko Jakszyk, Didier Malherbe, Richard Sinclair y Elton Dean. Su último proyecto antes de su fallecimiento fue con la banda de jazz fusion Bash! con la cual grabó el disco «Belle Illusion» en 2004. Su despedida de este planeta se produjo el 28 de agosto de 2006, a la edad de 56 años. 遅ればせながら、3月18日に享年81歳で亡くなられたJimmy Hastings追悼で。 そういえば、と思ってジミー・ヘイスティングスのwikiをみたんだけど、Caravan of Dreamsって載ってないですね、 T1からフルート🪈大フューチャーされてるのに😢 1992年にCaravan of Dreamsをわざわざ列車に乗って観に行ってるんです。その時のあとで書いた日記からコピペします。 1992年の夏にロンドンからブリティッシュ・レールで不安になりつつ30分強乗ったThe Woolwich Tramshedで見たときにリチャード・シンクレアの奥さんのヘザーさんから購入したものです。 もちろん、リチャードのサインも貰いました！(笑) ということです。 すごい小さい町の公民館みたいな会場でコンサート終わったあとファンミーティング状態ですww 奥さんのヘザーさんと少し話して、CDを買ってリチャードにサインをもらいました。いつも思うことだけど、もっと英語が話せたらと思いますね。 ちなみにこの年、衛生中継のGenesisを観ることができたのと、再結成したPentangle、Manfred Mans Earth Band、Thomas Dolbyを間近で観るといった海外旅行でも一番充実したライブ観戦になりました。 話がそれてしまったけど、Jimmy Hastingsは、常にCaravan、Soft Machine、カンタベリー周辺に関わってきたミュージシャンで逆に言えば、彼がいなかったらと思うとフルート、サックス、ピッコロ等、精彩の欠いたものになってたでしょう。 Jimmyの心躍るようなフルートは、イアン・マクドナルドやメル・コリンズとも違ったものでしたね。 ご冥福をお祈りします。 #今日の一枚 #nowplaying #jimmyhastings #caravan #caravanofdreams #hatfieldandthenorth #nationalhealth #softmachine #richrardsinclair
_ Jimmy Hastings R.I.P 🙏😢 Caravan,Hatfield and The North,National Health,Soft Machine,Chris Squire’s Solo Album _ カンタベリーの名盤にはこの人の木管リード楽器🎷🪈あり、は過言では無いサックス、フルートのリード🎷奏者、 ジミー・ヘイスティングスが3月18日にお亡くなりに🙏😢 _ その前にエリック・カルメンも亡くなり(シングル盤が未だ見つからず、実家に問い合わせ中😓)、それぞれの違うジャンルでの耳に馴染んだ背景や記憶の一部がまた一つセピア色になってしまいました… _ 最初にお耳にしたのは中学2年の同級生の兄に借りたクリムゾン宮殿、ソフトマシーン、EL&Pだったか、兎に角ソフツを聞け！と借りた”Third”でした。正直、クリムゾンが強烈に脳にこびり付いてソフツはよく分からなかった覚え。まだ早かったのね😓 _ カンタベリーを聞き出して”Slightly All The Time”での多重録音された彼の幻惑的なフルートの旋律、この曲の流れを決定付ける名演で、このアルバムがジャズロックの到達点的な絶妙なバランスを取ってる所だと🔥 これが初めて聞いたジミー・ヘイスティングでした。 _ 後はやはりキャラヴァン。特に”グレーとピンクの地”から入った私には”Golf Girl”のほのぼの強烈ホルンもそうですが、ピッコロの舞い踊り感がとても印象的、これがあったからこそのカンタベリー好きになった、は過言では無いかと。 _ それとやはり2ndの”キャラヴァン登場”の”For Richard(リチャードのために)”でのリードソロは、カンタベリー・ミュージックの祖となる”ワイルドフラワーズ”から汲み取った牧歌性や情緒あるフォーク性に今後のキャラヴァンの礎であって、よりジャズ感覚をバランス良くミックスされた”程良い”音楽を作れたのはジミー・ヘイスティングスが居たおかげだと思います。 _ YESのクリス・スクワイアのソロ・アルバム”Fish Out Of Water”の”You By My Side”での情緒ある落ち着いたフルート演奏は間違いなくクリスの違う一面を見事に演出していて存在感大な演奏でした👏 _ 英国カンタベリー・ロックに多大な貢献をしたリード奏者 jimmy Hastings に改めて敬意を表して、これからも聞き続けることを誓って追悼したいと思います🙏 *BGM設定間違えて短いパターンの繰り返しになって聞き苦しくなりました🙇♂️ _ #jimmyhastings #jimmyhastingsrip #caravanband #softmachineband #nationalhealth #hatfieldandthenorth #chrissquire #lp #vinyl #vinyljunkie #vinylcollection #vinylrecords #vinylcollector #record#ジミーヘイスティングス#ご冥福をお祈りします🙏 #キャラヴァン#ソフトマシーン#ナショナルヘルス#ハットフィールドアンドザノース#レコード _
