An innovative method of delivering intravenous antibiotics to patients is allowing @Midyorkshirenhs to treat people at home, helping them to avoid lengthy stays in hospital. By using an antibiotic pump, antibiotics are delivered over the course of 24 hours, meaning patients can go about their day as normal whilst receiving treatment. Many patients who are recovering from illnesses such as infections of the bone, chest, skin, heart, and brain have benefited from this method of treatment so far. Paul, who was receiving treatment for a severe ear infection, said: ‘It’s been exceptional. Each pump lasts for 24 hours so the nurse comes once each day to change it. Without this, I would have been in hospital for the last six weeks.’ This is a great example of NHS innovation benefitting patients and easing pressure on services. #NHS #NHSInnovation #Antibiotics

AI is everywhere these days, and there are a lot of areas where it can be used as an extremely useful tool. Healthcare is no different, and it's almost certain we will begin to see AI utilised in the near future - even in primary care. LMCs have warned, however, that any benefits in general practice will still rely on a strong, human workforce. At Ashburton, we agree - we believe that the most valuable resource any healthcare can offer is a good professional! That's why we pride ourselves on the quality of our pharmacists, and believe they will always have a place, even in an AI future! ______________________________________________ #Pharmacy #Pharmacist #UKPharmacy #PharmacyUK #PrimaryCare #PrimaryCareNetwork #PharmacyLife #NHS #NHSEngland #GeneralPractice #PharmacistsofInstagram #GPUK #PharmacistLife #Chemist #Doctor #DoctorsofInstagram #Medicine #UKPharmacist #DoctorsUK #GPSurgery #TraineePharmacist #AI

On behalf of patients, they interact with medical teams, promoting individualised treatment and well-informed choices. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Because of their skill in critical thinking and problem-solving, nurses are able to handle challenging healthcare situations with assurance and effectiveness. In order to facilitate healing and avert injury, they evaluate patient circumstances, foresee any difficulties, and carry out actions. Resilience and Adaptability Nursing may be a physically and psychologically taxing profession that calls for adaptation and fortitude in the face of difficulty. Despite working long hours and sometimes in stressful environments, nurses are dedicated to providing high-quality treatment with dignity and professionalism. Lifelong Learning and Professional Development The dynamic field of nursing is always changing in response to developments in medical research and technology. In order to keep up to date with current techniques and improve their abilities, nurses participate in professional development and lifelong learning, which guarantees the provision of evidence-based treatment. Community Impact In addition to working in clinical settings, nurses support public education campaigns, community health programmes, and disaster relief activities. Their commitment to enhancing health outcomes encompasses not only one-on-one patient encounters but also larger population health programmes. #property #nurses #NHS

GCSE’s. Today our son was due to start his GCSE’s but unfortunately he wasn’t able to sit them. The hospital school had offered to support his school but they were unable to assist as we aren’t local to home in this hospital. That being said, since starting the new medication, he’s not reacted to it well. It has unfortunately given him an upset stomach. The consultant explained this can happen at first so we are still keeping positive but it’s not ideal. I feel so sad that his right of passage in completing senior school is so different, it feels like another thing taken away from him but we hope he can get home soon and sit some of the exams. We have had to let go of that stress because his health is the most important thing. Good luck to anyone sitting their exams and remember that you are already amazing and should be very proud of yourselves. #ibd #ibdvisible #tubefed #tube #tubefeeding #tubefeedingawareness #ngtubefed #crohns #crohnsdisease #crohnsandcolitis #crohnie #crohnswarrior #ibdsuperheroes #colitis #crohnscolitis #tpn #inflammatoryboweldisease #crohnscolitisawareness #gutscharityuk #butyoudontlooksick #invisibleillness #gcse #crohnicillness #immunocompromised #piccline #nhs #fatigue #upadacitinib #allinforcrohnsandcolitis

Created in July 2021 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, artist @shonahardie incorporated a rainbow to the shutter art of Leith Surgery as a tribute to the healthcare workers of the NHS. The train motif of the mural is also a nod to the building's history as well as a reference to a famous Leith-based novel.  Located at 2 Duke Street, the GP surgery was once the waiting area of Leith Central Railway Station which operated from 1903 until its closure in 1952. From its closure to 1972 it was then used as a diesel multiple-unit (DMU) train depot.  During the 1980s, the derelict station was a notorious haven for drug users and the homeless, and this inspired a key scene in Irvine Welsh's novel Trainspotting from which the book takes its name. . . . #streetart #mural #train #book #rainbow #nhs
