Aubree and Wyatt were the perfect reverse grumpy sunshine storyline I wanted to see with Aubree’s story. She is dealing with a lot of trauma from her childhood and has put up a grumpy exterior because of it. Wyatt is an author getting over a heartbreak. When they decide to work together the tension and spice were both perfectly shown. Ok so I’m a little behind but life is just crazy and the days are seriously turning into weeks. I started this the second it was release April 2nd and this is my first official review of a book. This is definitely my new favourite Meghan Quinn book! I laughed out loud SO many times, I had tears in my eyes on multiple instances. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars for me! When I tell you I LOVED this book!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for a nsfw romcom. The last several books I read have been enemies to lovers tropes and it was so refreshing & wholesome to have a friends to lover story. This is the last book the Cane brothers series and by far my favorite. This story is a fun twist on my best friends wedding - the youngest Cane brother Breaker helps his decade long best friend Lia (Ophelia) navigate her new engagement, wedding planning, and future monster in law. This story was a little reminder that sometimes the longest journeys bring us right back home. Lots of witty dialogue & lotsssss of spice! It filled my heart seeing the start of their friendship and truly understand their deep connection. Bridesmaid For Hire - Meghan Quinn ⭐️3.5/5 🌶️5/5 Summary: Maggie Mitchell, an ambitious wedding planner, has finally found time to relax in the luxurious Bora-Bora. Unfortunately for her, her sworn enemy (and longtime crush) Brody McFadden has also found his way into her sanctuary of peace for his boss’s daughter’s wedding. Though she shouldn’t be working, she seizes the opportunity to get an in with the renowned Hoppers by pretending to be his girlfriend. In his franticness, he goes along with it. Now, for the next week, they have to pretend to be madly in love- while they absolutely can’t stand each other. Not to mention, Maggie is Brody’s best friend’s little sister, so she’s totally off limits- despite his equally gigantic crush on her. All in all, when they start to forget that their fake relationship ends behind closed doors, they can’t believe anything they hear. Review: This book was somewhat of a rollercoaster. I’ll be frank- it did not start strong. I was not optimistic, but by the middle of the book, things got really good. The spicy scenes were written well (though a tad repetitive) and the romance was genuine. Overall, though, i feel like things got a bit too descriptive/vulgar (if that makes sense) for my taste. For instance- Brody kept talking about his scrotum. I did not enjoy reading that lol. The ending started to go haywire and i didn’t like it, but i think it cleaned itself up in the end. It wrapped up nicely in a way that made sense. It felt a little rushed but nothing too noticeable given the timeline of the book. Nevertheless, I still liked the book. It just was not entirely my favorite. It was a quick read that gave me my fix and i did like both characters a lot. Just lots of cringe in the middle lol. OMG I can't believe I read this alongside the new release of movie #theideaofyou because it's the same freaking vibe and premises and his name is freaking H.A.Y.E.S. This book. Wow. I love MQ books but this one really got to me. The short version is the book is about a marriage that is failing and they have to decide if they can work it out or throw in the towel. A few years ago my husband and I went though some things and I was so ready to give up just like Myla was ready to give up. I had to take a step back and realize what was important to me and what was worth fighting for. I had walls that were always put up in our marriage that I didn’t realize and I finally decided to let them all down. Many years later and my marriage is thriving and we are doing great but this book definitely made me think about it all. I cried so much reading this but it was cathartic.
