Do you train or do you workout? There is a big difference. Training is working toward a desired result. For instance, if my goal is to build muscle, run faster, or to lose fat, then I need to follow a training plan to reach my desired result. Working out, on the other hand, is just picking any workout that you enjoy to get your heart rate up, work up a sweat and burn calories. Neither is right or wrong. Just depends on if you have a goal. I do both. Because I have a goal to get stronger and maintain or increase muscle mass as I age, 3 days per week I follow a plan and TRAIN.🏋🏻‍♀️ I keep track of my sets and reps and apply the progressive overload principle. Then 3 days a week, I WORKOUT. I do whatever makes me happy or whatever I feel like doing. I teach a couple classes a week and we do fun stuff to get our heart rate up and sweat. And on the weekends, it depends on the season. 🚵🏻‍♀️🏄🏻‍♀️🏂🎾👟 This here is a workout. And it is a GOOD ONE! I loved the moves. So save it, try it, and enjoy the sweat! 💦😅 6 moves. Set your interval timer to a 60/20 work/rest ratio. Do each move 60 seconds (30 seconds per side where applicable.) Rest 1 minute at the end of the circuit. Deceptively sweaty dumbbell and body weight workout today 🥵 ⠀⠀⠀ 10 rounds for time: • 2 burpees • 4 devil press • 6 burpees • 8 db hang clean & jerks (15kg/35lb) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Target time: sub 20 minutes Time cap: 25 minutes My time: 20.38 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Workout flow: completing all 20 reps above equals one round. With a running clock, complete 10 rounds as fast as you can. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Workout notes: I thought I was going to get through this in under 15 minutes. Every movement is a full body movement, so there is nowhere to hide. My energy, and will to live, had gone by round 6. Those 6 burpees are an absolute killer and they come around far too quickly. Start off at a moderate pace, making a note of your time after the first round. Level Method is the best in the business for fitness goals. Bodyfat and overall health are greatly influenced by nutrition. Regardless, a great plan is the linchpin... the guide. But, let's face it, not everyone wants to get as lean as humanly possible, or to eek out every ounce in the deadlift. That's ok... the need for a plan doesn't change. Clarity on the what, why, and how, becomes a crucial element in the formula for success. What exactly does "feeling better" or "getting out of pain" or "being able to play with my kids" mean? Define it. Determine why it's important in real world terms. Establish a step by step action plan to make it happen and at least one measurement to know when it's hit. With a running clock, complete two rounds (400 reps) as fast as you can. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Workout notes: This one is a real mental grind. The down ups feel like they go on forever. 🔥300 rep workout🔥 Starts off easy, ends up dreadful 😩 ⠀⠀⠀ For time: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 • burpees • thrusters (15kg/35lb) • sit ups ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Target time: sub 20 minutes Time cap: 25 minutes My time: 18.54 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Workout flow: With a running clock, complete 1 rep of each movement, moving onto 2 reps, 3 reps and so on moving up the ladder. Once you hit 10 reps, the reps descend back down the ladder, finishing when onto 1 rep of each movement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Workout notes: Don’t be fooled, you absolutely fly through the first 5 rounds. I was thinking I’ll get this done in sub 10 minutes, but then you get to round 8 and things start taking a turn for the worse. I turned into a pathetic, sweaty mess at round 10 and was only half way through 🤯 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ This works out at 100 reps of each movement and 300 reps in total.
