Was für ein starker Start in die diesjährige #goldentrailnationalseries in der @alpenstadt_reichenhall Der #hochstaufentrailrun im Rahmen vom @cityundtrail hatte wirklich alles, was ein Trailrun braucht. Nach einem flachen Start, ging es stetig hoch. Erst Schotter, dann ein schmaler Uphill im Wald und nach einer Leiter wurde es immer steiniger. Der steinerne Jäger Steig dann als krönender Abschluss, ehe es wild den Downhill wieder hinunter ging. Dikarenakan banyak segment curan berkerikil dan ini rawan terjungkal. - Gunakan gaiter agar tidak kemasukan pasir, cuma saran saya daripada pakai gaiter lebih baik beli kinisio tape dan lilitkan diantara sepatu dan kaoskaki. Ini saya lakukan tahin lalu 👍 - gunakan glove, antisipasi cuaca dingin dan badai serta antisipasi saat terjatuh atau terpleset. - yang tidak terbiasa dengan cuaca gunung dan berada diketinggian 3000an MDPL gunakan minimal jaket windbreaker dan lebih baik jaket waterproof. - gunakan buff atau masker penutup mulut agar tidak gampang bengek menghirup debu. Inspired by last weekend’s volunteering at the amazing UTS ultras, I decided to run a long-term project of revisiting a chunk of the old UTS50 race route that I ran in 2021. The state of my legs at the end of this 20 mile run/hike with 7800ft of ascent over the Glyders, straight up Pen ur ol Wen and over the Carnedds suggests I need considerable training to get back to where I was 3 years ago, but still, it was an amazing day out in the mountains! 🏔😀

Hills pay those bills! 💪🏔️💸 The temperature is heating up ☀️ but that just means it’s a new climate and different conditions to get used to training in! Yesterday was a Monster training day with the @trihardharriers finishing it off in style 🙌💙❤️ A beast of a hill session with over 1250ft of elevation in just 10k shows how tough it was 🥵 with fellow coach @myleskenealy leading the run, I got my head down and pushed myself through every effort really working the legs on the climbs! Hills in the sunshine! 🏔️☀️ Last night was an epic session led by @myleskenealy where the club took on two monster sets over on Gors Avenue! 💪 The first set was a pyramid style 20/40/60/40/20 hill reps for 12 mins The second set was a building 30/69/90 hill reps for 15 mins To mix things up, we then did some strides on the nearby football pitch for 8 mins which proved to be very tough on the legs due to the soft ground! Oh the trails are back with a BANG baby! 😍 Last night was the return of the @trihardharriers trails and my god they didn’t disappoint!! Couldn’t have asked for better weather, with wall to wall sunshine and it feeling like a proper summers evening, we headed down to Southgate to head off onto the epic trail paths! Despite having a route planned, once we stopped at Pennard castle I soon realised that the incoming high tide may be a slight issue 😬 Once we stopped down to the valley, it was a 50/50 choice on which way to go and I gambled taking us towards the stepping stones. We got 3/4 of the way down and then soon realised it was shit or bust…..we were getting wet 😂🌊 Wading through knee high water at some points, we all manoeuvred our way through the tricky sections to dry land 🙌 After this we had to take a rather big diversion, as the stones were completely submerged and it would have meant literally swimming to get across 🙈 The route from here onwards was stunning! Maintaining the overall fitness levels while working a lot on our property garden. As you know, I really don't like going to the gym, but I have no issues with some old fashion hard labour outside. What I did was a hole 6x3m ca 1.5m deep. A swimming pool?!? No.... not at all! Images will be available when the project is finished. Anyhow, as you may probably understand, my upper is getting really strong now, and I feel the pain like in each and every muscle of my body. My legs benefit of this as well due to the massive amount of heavy lifting of stones. So, if you despise the gym like I do, just go ahead and dig a hole in the ground. Alhamdulillah finish susai target dibawah 7 jam. Sadar diri aja karna selama ramadhan banyak off lari. Jadi cari penyakit kalo ngikutin rombongan depan. 🤪 Lebih dari 15KM tadi berbagi KM dengan finisher pertama cewe sampai akhirnya ketemu mang @arief.wismoyono di downhill yang sangat BGST sekali 😩lagi bikin vidio. Disini beliau bilang pelari didepan pada penyok tapi gap waktunya lumayan jauh. Akhirnya saya tinggalkan pelari pertama cewe dan berhasil menangkap pelari di depan sebelum WS terakhir. Dan setelah WS terakhir ini Pelari ke 4 dan ke 5 sudah dalam pandangan namun apadaya sisa 7KM terakhir didominasi aspal dan saya tak sempat menyalip mereka lagi. Berakhir di posisi 6. Not bad lah untuk persiapan Rinjani Insya Allah. Salah satu yang menarik di @run.totk adalah viewnya sulit untuk tidak mengabadikan beberapa momen dan berhenti sejenak untuk menikmatinya. Hills & Consistency are not an easy combination! 🏔️ I am always going on how important it is to add hills into runs and that is because it only makes you stronger! 💪 Despite big mileage yesterday, my legs felt good so went out looking for a tasty and challenging route! 10 miles later, over 1200ft of elevation chalked off and a big run banked 👊 Apart from being chased up a hill by a sheepdog in the third mile 🐶 (on the steepest part of the bloody hill too 😬) it was a really enjoyable run!
