I spent yesterday afternoon at the @bristolgoddesstemple to celebrate Imbolc and Brigid with other like-minded folks, led by the wonderful @lady_faye_morgana (credit to her for the first photo of the altar) - it's the first time I've been to such a gathering and it was honestly a wonderful experience. The balance between spiritual and secular was struck perfectly, and it was an amazing thing to be able to enjoy my spiritual practice without feeling any cognitive dissonance from my rational brain. The guided meditation she took us through was so joyful and felt so natural, and I knew immediately the colours I'd use for crafting my intention charm. After a slower and deliberate start of weaving the threads of my intentions together and focusing on specific types of actions, I was able to pick up the pace and weave motivation and progressive energies into the charm, which I finished last night. I feel motivated and energised, ready to take on the year ahead as we move into lighter days - and honestly, a little bit of my soul healed yesterday. Good morning lunar friends π Yesterday I visited the beautiful space that is the @bristolgoddesstemple to honour Samhain this weekend. πΉI havenβt been there for a long time due to lockdown so it was a real joy to experience the peace and tranquillity of the temple and take some time to meditate by the altars (pictured). π€ Celebrated as βHalloweenβ by many - βSamhainβ is actually the name of this festival if you follow the Celtic Wheel of the year. It is a time to turn within ourselves as winter approaches. Each year I tend to step up my acknowledgment of this as I learn more about how the Celtic Wheel turns and what it brings. Amongst all the Halloween commercialism and fun ( yes we will definitely have some sweets ready for the trick or treaters!) there are some really beautiful traditional practices that I like to acknowledge in my own way during Samhain: βΊοΈ π§‘I always light a candle for loved ones that are no longer with us. This is because Samhain is thought to be when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest and so a powerful time to connect with ancestors. π§‘I beautify my moon altar at home to acknowledge the new season and spend some time meditating on what the year has brought. 𧑠β¦And as this is thought to be the start of the Pagan New Year I will be putting some energy into thinking about the intentions that I want to set, ready to crystallise them at new moon next weekβ¦ There are so many ways to honour this magical time, and these are just a few! πBlissedπ Received the most blissful singing bowl massage at the Bristol Goddess Temple today. My body has been calling out for deep, healing, sound vibrations to help clear my energy field and to support my emotional body. I am currently on call for a birth as a #birth #doula. As doula's we energetically hold and ground the space so that the birthing mother / parent can feel safe, secure and relaxed. Birthing parents and their babies can be extremely heightened and sensitive to their environment and the energies within it. Therefore, taking care of our own inner and outer landscapes so we can support our clients is essential. Good morning! We are so happy to see that our community is steadily growing. we thought that some of you who are new to the temple, or haven't yet visited, would like to know a bit more about what to expect during our drop-in hours. We are often asked if the temple is open to men. YES! We have an altar to the divine masculine as well as to the divine feminine. We recognise and celebrate that spirituality can be non-gendered and/or atheistic. We are inclusive of all spiritual paths (and we also welcome you if you don't have one). You are welcome to bring your children to visit us. All we ask is that our visitors respect our sacred space and each. It is free to visit the Temple and will always be free. We are all volunteers and receive no outside funding, so all donations of any amount are very gratefully received; if you can't donate, you will be just as welcome as those who can. On Wednesdays (10-12), Saturdays (2-6pm) and Sundays (2-5pm) all are invited to come and spend time in our beautiful temple. No need to book, contact us beforehand or knock - just find us at the end of the first-floor corridor, remove your shoes and come in. There will be a melissa (meaning: worker bee) holding the space who will be happy to answer any questions, or to carry out a smudging or saining with our own handmade incense, essential oil mist, or our little temple bell for those who would prefer that. If you don't feel like talking, or want to spend some time in meditation or prayer, or just to get comfortable with our blankets and cushions and give yourself permission to drift off, that will be respected. We ask everyone to put phones on silent and keep voices low in order to preserve a calm and peaceful space. You can light a candle at one of the altars, or write a prayer, blessing or dedication and add it to the basket. These will be offered to Goddess in a sacred fire ceremony at the next full moon.
