This photo was taken a little over one year ago on my 25th birthday. There are no filters, no editing, this is the selfie as is. ** On my 25th birthday, I spent the entire day alone in my apartment and only left to let my dog go outside. It was truly one of my lowest moments. Everyone kept wishing me a happy birthday. I would like the message or send a heart back to make it known I was still there. Several people I thought I was close to forgot it was my birthday. I remember feeling like I needed to post something on Instagram to acknowledge the day. So I took about 20 selfies from different angles and positions. I didn’t want anyone to see how withdrawn I was. I just needed a picture that if I put a filter on it, I looked like I had a good 25th birthday. ** So I posted another version of this picture where it looks like I had a great day and loved the birthday love I was receiving. My reality couldn’t have been more different. ** I wanted to share this because you can’t always tell how someone is doing by the way they look or especially a picture of them you see on social media. You don’t have to paint an image of perfection for people, those who love you want the real you. ** If you are in the place I was a year ago currently, I will tell you without a shadow of a doubt that it does get better. You grow and change. You find your people. You hurt but also heal so much. My life is so different than it was a year ago. This is my message of hope to you. Another unfortunate aftermath from suicide. The owner died via a gunshot wound inside of a pickup truck. The bullet was lodged into the headrest while the blood from the victim drained to the side of the truck. This vehicle was transported to a body shop, and we were contacted by insurance to clean it. Because the truck was new and the blood was relatively fresh, they wanted to see what we could do to clean it up and preserve the car. Honestly, this brightened my day & overall week. I've been recovering from so much, and honestly & since the assembly the other day, this really opened my eyes. I honestly feel like if you are going through something, you should tell someone. I regret never really telling anyone until I did. But I hope this post finds the right people. YOURE NOT ALONE. Hi friends. I dunno how many of you have ever used Colorado Crisis Services/988, or if someone you know has. After 14 years, the state has awarded the contract to an OUT OF STATE provider. This means that 330 employees will lose their jobs. The new provider promises to provide crisis/suicide services with only 75 employees. The reason they can do this is because they use a "Safe to Wait" protocol, which means that they put people in crisis ON HOLD!!! That is unjust and unsafe. Additionally, this new provider may give personal medical information TO THE GOVERNMENT! Happy #fixiefriday. I got some good comments on my post yesterday about mental health and burdens, so I wanted to unpack that a little more. If you commented or just identified with it, know you aren't alone. I won't tell you what to believe, but what I believe compels me to tell you what works for me. It's simple but not easy because it requires admitting to yourself that you are incapable of solving or fixing it on your own. The second step is asking Jesus to take control of your life. That may not sound like anything you want to do but don't scroll yet. He's not a genie, but he says "anyone who comes to me I will in no way cast out". If you give Him your life and the problems that come with it, he will give you a new life. He will give his spirit to dwell in you and you will have peace. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD and believe in your by earth that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. Saved from what? You ask.
