When I was a kid, you'd never find me without a book. Even in a restaurant. I'm glad I found that again. I think reading Babysitters Club and Little House on the Priarie was a right of passage for all girls in the 90s. I forgot to add a photo of the Animorph series. I read every one. In middle school, I discovered Harry Potter. I was in 7th grade when the Prisoner of Azkaban was released and I've never looked back. Also, did anyone else read the Tillerman kids series by Cynthia Voigt? I was obsessed with Dicey and her siblings. High school brought about more Harry Potter books but it also began my other life ling obsession with the Stephanie Plum novels by @janetevanovich . I will always recommend this series to anyone looking for comedy, spice, action, and just a whole lot of hilarity. Damn Skippy. In college, I was getting a haircut when my stylist started talking about this new vampire series she was reading. Thus, my introduction to Twilight. But it was also the ending to the Harry Potter series. I went to the midnight release and cried after finishing the Deathly Hollows. My early adult 20s found me being introduced to Fifty Shades of Grey series and a new obsession in The Hunger Games. (Was I the only one who disliked the movies?). And then... there was Jamie in Outlander... my husband refused to even think about the names James, Alexander, or McKenzie while I was pregnant rofl. Book 32 of 2024: "Look Alive Twenty-Five (A Stephanie Plum Novel)," Janet Evanovich" It’s been a stretch. I fell WAY behind. But I did crawl through. And Stephanie helped me. A high-bond FTA puts up for his collateral…The Red River Deli? People love the food, but managers keep disappearing, leaving nothing but a shoe right outside the dumpster. Could be mob, could be aliens. Gets worse once one of Ranger’s men disappears. Steph is again becoming more competent. Not as funny, and more of a mystery solver. Take that for what it’s worth, but it’s growing on me. This story was very detailed, and I even got lost in it. Ranger gets involved, first helping Steph bring in a dangerous skip, then providing surveillance that eventually solves the crime. Morelli’s still a part of the scene, but maybe in the background. Still thinking about a ring for our fave bounty hunter. But…probably not. Hey, for the first time…a cliffhanger! That was exciting. Wonder what happens…? That’s all for now. See you in Trenton! I started reading this series many years ago but for some unknown reason I stopped. I really wanted something light and easy to read and I remembered that I enjoyed this and might want to restart it. The book tells the story of Stephanie Plum, a broke Jersey girl who finds herself employed in the dangerous and sometimes hilarious world of bounty hunting. Her first job is to track down a cop wanted for murder who also happens to be the guy she lost her virginity to years ago. This is a fun story. 🧁BOOK REVIEW🧁 Yes, all these books are the same. Stephanie Plum falls into the middle of some crazy crime trying to apprehend an FTA. There are many disasters and mishaps along the way and, normally, at least one destroyed car belonging to Stephanie. In the last 20 pages of the book, it all comes to an end wrapped in a nice big bow. I don’t care…I enjoy these books and I love the characters and their antics! I can always rely on Stephanie, Morelli, Ranger, Connie, Lulu and Grandma Mazur to make me laugh and reset my mood. 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆-𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝗯𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗵 ★ ★ ★ Okay, before I get into the review, I have to say two things. 1) I found this book in a Little Library in our neighborhood & the summary drew me in & 2) I had NO clue this was part of a series in which this is the 26th book written about this same main character prior to starting the reading of this book. 😅 If I had known before getting well over halfway, I would’ve stopped reading & began with the first ones! But anyway, the review: I gave this book 3 stars because I truly did enjoy the mystery of it all: Who is after her Grandma? I also loved how relatable the character was for me. She drinks LOTS of coffee, doesn’t have the best diet because she’s just trying to make ends meet & can’t afford fancy things, & longs for more purpose. I also loved how she & the friend/coworker in the book reminded me of another Lorelei Gilmore & Sookie St. James: friends for life & have each other’s backs, Sookie(aka Lula)is the wild, random, out of the ordinary one whereas Lorelei (aka Stephanie) is the level-headed, common sense & calm one. Although these were my faves of this book, I do have things I didn’t like. I genuinely DESPISED how the author ended the paragraphs throughout the book & how she portrayed the conversations. The paragraphs just ended on an awkward note, so much so that they left me thinking 💭 “OKAY???” The characters’ conversations also lacked any sort of emotional context behind them. I couldn’t tell if they made certain remarks with sarcasm, seriousness, anger, etc. I could sense NOTHING each time a character spoke. 9 times out of 10 I was questioning the relationships between certain characters; are they friends? Do they hate each other? Does he/she find this person annoying? I truly think I need to read the first books to gain a better understanding of these characters & their personalities. All in all, I do recommend this book if you’re into crime/mystery novels, but definitely recommend reading the first in the series! Dirty Thirty By @janetevanovich Thirty-ish, flirty and thriving. Stephanie Plum is at it again in book 30 of this Janet Evanovich series. I’ve been reading these religiously every time she rolls out with a new one and I adore each book. She explains the characters at the start if each novel, so these could be read as stand alone, but they’re fun character’s to get to know. Every time I open a Stephanie Plum book it’s like the characters are welcoming me back home. It’s a comfort read for sure. Although every book is kind of similar in its set up, I find myself laughing out loud every time. The characters are fun and lovable and Evanovich is an excellent writer. This is not a Freida McFadden thriller so I don’t expect huge twists, but these books do often end on a cliff hanger, this book included. That being said, I’m literally dying for the next book in the series, Now or Never to come out on November 5, 2024. The Stephanie Plum series will always have my heart. Reread this one for my library’s book challenge and enjoyed it like the first time I read it. Although the book deals with serious topics (TW: rape and physical violence) @janetevanovich still manages to infuse humor when introducing the characters in this wonderful series. Book Review – Plum Lucky – Janet Evanovich “Plum Lucky” by author Janet Evanovich was the second holiday – St. Patrick’s Day – in-between-the-numbers novella I’ve read – the Valentines Day “Plum Lovin’” was the first. This Stephanie Plum adventure was lively, exciting, and as usual amusing! Stephanie’s Grandma Mazur finds a duffle bag full of money on the street and like any other good New Jersey senior citizen, she purchases a new Winnebago and hightails it to Atlantic City to hit the slots. With supporting hilarious characters Lula and Connie in tow, Stephanie goes to Atlantic City to bring Grandma Mazur back home, but trouble ensues with a little wannabe ‘leprechaun’ who says the $800,000+ is his and he wants it back, but so do the gangsters he stole it from. Stephanie, along with the mysterious Diesel, finds herself in over her head with a caper involving thrice-stolen money, a sick racehorse, ruthless gangsters, and a little person with a bad Irish accent that thinks he’s a leprechaun. Crazy, rousing, and just plain fun, Plum Lucky was an enjoyable and entertaining read. I don’t know if I have been as excited about reading the next book in this Stephanie Plum series, by Janet Evanovich, since the first one. I have been waiting for 30 books for this and now have to wait until book #31! Dirty Thirty had everything I love in these fun, easy reads. All the stuff we see in them all; cars damaged, missed opportunities, Lula shenanigans, dinner at mom’s and grandma getting in on the action is included. Plus there is more! The usual triangle exists between Stephanie, Morelli and Ranger, which can get old, but not this time. I am #teamRanger so I was happy to get a hefty dose of that chemistry in this book. The ending, though… wow! For fans of this series, be sure to grab this one. For those of you who started and gave up somewhere along the way, grab this one. For those who haven’t read any of the books in this series, maybe read the first couple to get a gist of where things are, then read this one. I enjoy these as light, fun reads because I don’t have to think too hard about or figure out where things are going. They are pure enjoyment to me. Good to see you, good to be back in Trenton. This time, a few storylines: • Lula witnesses a murder, and the killers are after her. The victim? Stanley Chipotle, a famous TV chef, and there’s a million-dollar reward for the killers’ capture. • Ranger’s security business has experienced its share of break-ins, and asks Stephanie for help. But that means she’s in close contact with him… • Steph and Morelli are on the outs. But is Joyce Barnhardt on the ins? • Lula has a little fling with the Cluck-In-A-Bucket mascot, Mr. Clucky. For once, the title fits, since the ladies enter a barbecue sauce contest to find the killers, and maybe even win the contest. But this one just wasn’t as spicy as past offerings with not nearly as much “action” (wink-wink) between Steph, Ranger, and/or Morelli. Wow, 30 books with my girl Stephanie Plum 😍 True story: I will never stop reading this series, even though I keep saying to myself “haven’t I already read this one?!” because the plots are starting to all mesh together (😂) and honestly, the decision between Ranger and Morelli will never happen (which is fair, I flip flop between them myself). This is the ultimate comfort series for me, and Janet Evanovich is one of only a handful of authors that actually gets me to laugh out loud. Highly recommend for any couch detective true crime lovers who love a good laugh and a hint of spice! 🕵️♀️💗

In Evanovich’s whacky ‘In Between the Numbers’ Christmas installment – “Visions of Sugar Plums” - bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is chasing an elusive bail-jumper named ‘Sandy Claws’; being attacked by a mob of manic, angry elves; and wondering who the hunky guy named Diesel is that keeps popping in and out of her apartment - in this 160-page mystery novella. The result is that Plum is feeling a tad stressed over the holiday season and it’s all told in an amusing and entertaining tale to lighten the spirits during the Christmas holiday season. Once again Evanovich takes fans down a trail of fun, whodunit, and wit. All the usual characters are back, except for Ranger, and my only regret was the Lula character wasn’t in this tale quite as much as the regular books, but when she appears – “HO, HO, HO, Merry Christmas!” She’s the most hilarious of all the regular characters. But as usual, Evanovich’s imagination carries the story; light-hearted, quick, not much dept, but funny, enjoyable, and very entertaining! I really like the Stephanie Plum character and her silly antics and adventures and appreciate my wife sharing these books with me. Lots of holiday exploits with lots of laugh-out-loud moments. ✨Series review✨ Where do I even start? A down on her luck girl with the best humour works as a bondsman after losing her job. She throws herself into the deep end and keeps on getting up when she fails. It’s a cozy murder mystery, it an easy read and does not lack plot or tension. Stephanie is relatable and her and Morelli in the first book had that cat and mouse cop vs crook kind of vibe. I’m loving this series so far, the audiobooks are 3 hours and I’ve been listening to them while I crochet. It was originally published in 1994 but it’s held up really well. Anyways, I love it. I have read every book in this series and this one just might be my favorite. I love that this series takes place not far from my home in Trenton, NJ. Janet Evanovich herself is a Jersey girl. Stephanie Plum works for her Uncle hunting down bail skippers. Stephanie and her sidekick Lulu are on the hunt for the suspect of a jewelry heist. It wouldn't be a Stephanie Plum story without either her car or her house blowing up. Let's not forget about the love triangle. Ranger owns a Security Agency and provides Stephanie with cars and shelter. Morelli is a Trenton cop that has been dating Stephanie off and on since high school. He also has the most adorable dog named Bob that adds entertainment to the story. In a cliffhanger ending, both men want to marry Stephanie. Who will she choose? I am team Morelli but maybe the author will throw us a complete curve ball and add a new love interest in the next book. The Stephanie Plum stories always make me laugh and I love all the characters in these books. The narrator did a great job bringing Stephanie to life. In this 30th installment of the Stephanie Plum series, Stephanie seeks out her typical FTAs while also working for a jeweler to find an ex-employee whom he believes was in on a heist. Her boyfriend Joe Morelli is out of town, and she is working closely with her Bounty Hunter mentor (read: sometimes lover), Ranger. Throw in fire bombings, a family wedding, Stephanie’s predictable car troubles, unusual FTAs…Oh, and she’s dog-sitting Morelli’s dog, Bob. Lula, Grandma Mazur and Mrs. Plum are up to their usual antics adding humor to the story. I found this to be a great addition to the series for Stephanie Plum fans. I can appreciate that Stephanies romantic morality is questionable and there is little character development as the series moves along, which is a turnoff for some readers, but for this series I am willing to overlook these flaws.
