Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy 😋😍 _____Ingredients:_____ - 4 cube steaks - 1 cup all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon salt - 1 teaspoon black pepper - 1 teaspoon paprika - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder - 2 eggs - 1/4 cup milk - Vegetable oil, for frying For the Gravy: - 1/4 cup pan drippings - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour - 2 cups milk - Salt and pepper to taste _____Directions:_____ 1. In a shallow dish, mix together flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. 2. In another shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk. 3. Dip each cube steak into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere. 4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. 5. Fry the cube steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. 6. Aight ya’ll. Never in the history of histordom have we done a perfect black eye pea recipe. Either it was too watery, not enough smokiness or dare I say it: bland!! No ma’am, Pam. But by golly I think I’ve got it! Cuz we don’t do bland. But, we also watching out for our pressure so take it easy on that salt, pimpin! So, cook with me…get you 1lb of dry blackeye peas and the following: A ceramic coated 6-quart Dutch oven 1 organic onion, minced 2 heaping teaspoons of minced garlic 3-4 ribs of chopped organic celery Pieces of smoked turkey something! (Leg - only 1, wing - 3, neck or tail - 3) 1/2 package of beef bacon, minced 1.5 teaspoons of Better Than Bouillon 1 bunch of thyme secured by cooking twine 2 bay leaves 1/2 pork kielbasa, chopped…no pork on yo fork folks: sub a turkey or fancy vegan link, but if it’s vegan fry that puppy separately on medium fire and fast in regular oo, saving all the drippings for your Dutch oven Onion Powder to taste Garlic Powder to taste Cracked Pepper to taste Add Lawry’s last…to taste…this helps not to over salt Instructions: Do the quick soak: boil 4-5 quarts of water and the dry peas for 2 mins, turn off and cover for an hr. Drain, and transfer to a prep bowl and set aside. Next chop your veggies, bacon, kielbasa and peel your smoked turkey if you are able. If arduous to skin the smoked turkey, you’ll need to skim the fat after it’s cold the next day. Because we don’t have time: we tryna eat! Alrite: add regular olive oil to your Dutch oven and heat on medium fire and add your onions and celery. Sauté until translucent (like 10 minutes stirring often), add the bacon and kielbasa and cook for another 5-7 minutes, add your garlic and keep stirring for 2 minutes. Then add your soaked peas and water with 2-3” room from the top of the pot. Add the Better Than Bouillon, mix…now taste. What does it need? Add. Onion Powder, Garlic Powder and Pepper. Taste again. Need more? Do iiiit. Lastly add the Lawry’s to round out the flavor profile. It should taste like you want it to at the end of marrying the flavors sans complexity. Grease an 8-inch square pan. Melt the butter in a large skillet. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Quickly add eggs and beat until well blended.
