I got this back in September on Stuff your Kinde Day and wasn't sure what to expect. I ended up loving this and can't wait to read the next one. Holy crap- THIS is good. It gives me fantasy x (slightly) dystopian/ futuristic/ ‘The 100’/ Hunger games vibes. It’s really well written. I loved the plot and the characters had some good development. The elements of ‘magic’ were well thought out and felt refreshing, and I loved the ‘other world’ of Neverwood. Soooo, I totally spaced out and grabbed this book before Hannah's and Liam's first story..... I mean - I still LOVED it! After reading the first part of their duology, I did have a bit more info, but the story really holds up, even if this is the only book you read. It's too damn good NOT to read, that's for sure! Soooo.... I just casually picked this box set up for some light reading... And I've barely slept tonight, because it's COMPLETELY unputdownable! I ended up bingeing it in less than 24 hours. So. As the story continues, more revelations are made that create further struggles and choices for our group, taking them all on a twisted filled journey filled with so much danger, deceit and betrayal as evil lurks at every corner. I absolutely loved the character growth in this story and how her relationship with her shadow beasts and Rayne developed throughout. The question remains, will they finally get their happily ever after? Will Ann’s love be enough to shine through the darkness or will the darkness once again conquer and destroy their lives for god? Elizabeth battles with the knowledge of what she is, and does her best to keep this life from her human one. I enjoyed this story! * Book 2 - Marked Immortals This one was a ride! After 'escaping' the prison in book 1, these characters found themselves back inside, undergoing rigorous challenges against groups of other supernaturals, not knowing what awaited them at the end, only that they'd still be alive. This was an action-packed adventure and was a fun read. As always there's a twist at the end, and with one book left, anything could happen. * Book 3 - Chosen Warriors The conclusion to this trilogy has the group undertaking a crazy final task in order to gain their freedom. Don’t Say My Name by Helen Scott and Lacey Carter Andersen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was really drawn into the idea of a Bloody Mary RH and it didn’t disappoint! Mae, also known as Bloody Mary, was vengeful, caring, and had morals. She helps women and children who are in need from desperate situations even though it physically hurts her. Hunter was my favorite of her three guys. He had a very twisted childhood, but chooses to help people instead of giving into his nature. Azrael, also known as Grim, has the power to see how people died, Ellis was able to calm people, and Alastair was a researcher. I hope that we get to learn more about these guys since Hunter had the most page time and development besides Mae. I really liked Azrael’s sister Adelle- she had a spunky and show no fear personality. Lacey and Helen did an incredible job with this co-write and their writing and each POV flowed well together. I loved being able to see what each character was feeling and learning more about them. I really want to know more about The House of Banshees and what its role really is since I was confused how it came into play. I also need more answers about who trapped Mae and why she was trapped in the first place.
