The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken! Psalms 34:19-20 I believe myself to be a strong lion who is always capable of every challenge that I face…yet I get so beat up and broken when I’m take these on by myself. The moment I turn to my LORD I am instantly revived and built like steel! With nothing ever stopping me. However I still falter and think I can survive on my own once I’m strong again. It’s a never ending cycle…until God reaches out and pulls me out of the darkness again and again and again. He doesn’t punish me, he doesn’t hate me for it, instead he continuously loves me unconditionally. Reading this verse this morning after everything I’ve been going through, I was struck with what felt like a lightning bolt to the heart. I truly know now that no matter how tough or strong I think I am. I am nothing without the help of the LORD. Now on the paper at the top write: I AM BLESSED Then under it Me, People, Blessings as headings Now start filling it in - example Under Me: I have an education, I am healthy, I am creative, I can drive, I can sing etc People - list all the beautiful people in your life! Blessings - I have running water, I have a house of my own, a car, a career, a family, warm clothes, shoes, proper meals more than once a day etc etc When you done, let your eyes scan over the list! I AM…FORGIVEN🤍 Joel Osteen states in his book that the battle is in the mind! You never go beyond the barriers of your own mind! If you are defeated in your mind, you have already lost your battle. It is wrong thinking patterns that keeps us imprisoned in defeat! And why? One of the first things I always uncover when I start coaching someone new, is that they cannot move forward if they have not dealt with their past! They are stuck and stay stuck even if they keep trying! Now when I state deal with their past I am not referring to therapy. That is something completely different. I mean accepting and letting go of guilt and regret about decisions around their dreams! Completely handing it over! Saying: I am forgiven! . DAY 6: I AM FORGIVEN Today’s activity is extremely cleansing , releasing and rewarding! It’s symbolic and wonderfully freeing! Let’s start: Find an old cardboard/ paper file. If you don’t have one simply fold a paper in half! Now draw on top in red marker a sign similar to “Top Secret” on it but instead of writing “Top Secret”, write the word “Forgiven”! Now take paper and write down the things of your past that you still holding onto. Write each item on a separate paper. Write till you are done! Once done, take the first paper, read it out loud, now say the words, I am forgiven and in that I forgive myself. I hand it over to God and let it go! Put it in the “Forgiven” file. Take the next and the next and the next… feel yourself totally release it, never to be taken back. Now you are welcome to keep the file and add to it whenever something new pops up or you can destroy the file totally releasing it! Going forward, whenever a thought of anything you already added to the file comes up in your mind. Stop and say! Not mine. It’s in the file and already stamped as handled. It is forgiven. And give no further thought to it! Return to the present! I am forgiven! . I’ve misunderstood the cross for most of my life. Not because it hadn’t been explained. It had. But when shame crashed through my door and told me I was unworthy of fidelity. Of honesty. Of love. And when past choices taunted me. Or the ache of a story with sharp edges spun a nasty narrative in my heart. I lost sight of the whole point. It is finished. The cross has the final word. Jesus on that cross. Gathered up all the sharp edges of every single story. Collected all the stains we could never wash away. All the brokenness we can’t say out loud. And then He poured Himself out over it all. Over every piece of it. Your pieces and my pieces. And that’s enough. And this morning I have this picture in my mind. There I am, at the foot of the cross. And maybe you’re there with me. Looking up at that perfect Man carrying every single thing we’ve ever done. Broken and bleeding. Our sin and shame there. All the nasty bits that take our breath away. The painful pieces that keep us awake at night. The shame story spinning a web of lies so deep we wonder if we can ever be free. There it is. On that Man. On that cross. And He looks at us through swollen eyes. And with more love than we can fathom, He says these life changing words…. “It is finished.” It. Is. Finished. All of it - done. So when shame or fear or the jagged edged story tries to steal away the truth. Point your heart back to that Man. On that cross. He finished it for you. It’s done. You’re free. Thank You Jesus❤️ “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘it is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:30 (ESV)
I’m in @malaine_lea_butler ‘s 3 day miracle challenge and on today live I declared. The miracle I am declaring is that I will get out of the way and let my light be seen so I can fully support others. Restored health and clarity. I also declared that Trinity break free of the chains of this world and see herself the way God lovingly sees her. Then tonight through conversation with a trusted mentor I was reminded of when I was very young. We went to church each week. Mom parked the car on the little hill of the corner store in Eagle. Their driveway backed into number three highway which was a busy truck road that time. The car started rolling backwards and at that young age all I knew to do was pray. God please stop the car and save me from dying. The car stopped just before the tail end went onto the highway and a truck whirred by. When mom got back to the car I asked her how I asked Jesus to live in my heart because I knew in that moment He was with me. I said the sinners prayer as I knew it then. Tonight I said the salvation prayer and recommitted my life to Jesus. I’m scared for many reasons mainly the judgement of others when I don’t actually Christianity at all times but those times are between me and God and my hope is that they will be few and far between as they to spread love everywhere I go. No one will ever tell me again “Enough of the God shit Megan” and me let that penetrate the relationship between God and I. His grace is sufficient for me. And I know He watches you too.
