I sedered for the first time since the Before Times (!), and for the first time ever with two new family members (Methodists who have been to Jewish-organized seders at churches, one of whom knows a lot about Judaism)! Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech ha’olam, shehecheyanu, v'kiy'manu, v'higiyanu laz'man hazeh – blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of all, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season! Haggadah – Joshua Tauberer’s A Minimalist Haggadah (2019+), with lots of verbal commentary. Seder plate(s) – plate from Shop Goodwill; matzah, egg (beitzah), horseradish (maror, bitter herbs), mini Milk Bones (zeroah, shankbone), charoset (bricks and mortar, made by Kristian and I), romaine lettuce (chazeret, secondary bitter herbs), parsley (karpas, vegetable), orange (for women and LGBTQ+ people), spoon (for spoonies – chronically ill and disabled people). Elijah’s cup has grape juice (as do all of our “wine” cups), Miriam’s well has water. Dinner – matzah ball soup (made by Kristian and I), salmon (cooked by Kristian), whitefish salad, mashed potatoes, asparagus (cooked by Kristian). Вместе с этим в эти дни мы всегда вспоминаем и протоиерея отца Владимира Сорокина, настоятеля Санкт-Петербургского Князь-Владимирского собора, ставшего настоящим ангелом-хранителем или батюшкой-хранителем нашей Благотворительной Мальтийской Столовой. Во многом благодаря его молитвам и УЧАСТИЮ #Столовая работает уже более 32 лет. Мы постоянно ощущаем не только его незримую отеческую любовь и заботу, но и вполне осязаемую помощь посетителям Столовой. Ведь отец Владимир является членом попечительского совета Столовой и всегда в курсе ее актуальных дел. Кроме того, каждую Пасху отец Владимир ДЕЛИТСЯ со столовой 250 пасхальными куличами. В этот раз отец Владимир в канун Светлой Пасхи оказался в больнице в ожидании СЛОЖНОЙ операции. Но он не забыл о доброй традиции и из больничной палаты распорядился выделить нам эти хлеба. Мы благодарим отца Владимира, молимся за его здравие и призываем всех посетителей Столовой и просто сопереживающих и сочувствующих людей присоединиться к нам.

PASSOVER 2024 MONTAGE. . One of the best Passover weeks since our family began observing. @brandi_raquel and @ladivamexicankitchen made a delicious Passover dinner while we worshiped with @_withoutwalls_ and commemorated the sacrifice of Jesus, the Lamb of God, on the cross for our redemption and forgiveness of sins. The kids helped put the blood of the Lamb on our front door, an annual family tradition. We saw @brandonlake in concert in Jacksonville—it was DJ’s first concert ever! Hosted an insightful and compelling podcast on the true crucifixion timeline (He was crucified Wednesday not Friday!) with @drdereksheavly on the He Is Greater Podcast. My friend @donkenobimusic flew down from Ohio to be baptized following Sabbath service. We formed new and lasting relationships and received revelation of the Lord’s future plans for our family! . Something I’ve learned in 24 years of following Jesus is this: THE BEST IS YET TO COME! . Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.
