Nobody is perfect. This is true, if you're referring to created things. But if your perfection meter covers the entirety of existence, then not exactly. In fact, if you made that statement at the very beginning of creation, you would be lying. Because God, being the perfect One, couldn't have exuded anything less in His work of creation. Everything was perfect until sin came along with chaos and every other horrible thing. But because that wasn't what He was going for with His work of creation, He made a way for us to get back there by sending His son to die for us. Quite a great length to go to, for it to lead to anything less than perfection. Yes, we're not there yet, but God definitely wants us there, and He's actively working to achieve that. Remembering that "nobody is perfect" has been necessary atimes, to give room for grace, but we must admit that we've used it more as an excuse. God understands our weaknesses, but He will in no way leave us to wallow in them. In fact, He already sees us at where He wants us to be, so we're the only ones holding ourselves back by glorifying our imperfection. And oh, do we glorify imperfection. We may hide behind that "woke" movement. But the truth is that we all yearn for perfection. And only God can provide that. Why not come to Him today? #YTD #Godisperfect #beyeperfect #yourdoseoftruth #Christiancontent

Be ye... perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. I [am] the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.--Ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD [am] holy, and have severed you from [other] people, that ye should be mine. Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.--Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity.--Be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. Blessed [are] the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.--Whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.--Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. We have not just broken God’s law once or twice. Unkind words slip out before we even realize it. Angry and even hateful thoughts arise effortlessly. We are not strangers to lust, greed, worry, self-centeredness. On and on it goes. The list is endless. Instead of condemning us, however, God condemned Jesus! Who experienced eternal hope and joy in Easter? The Women In a culture, where women were second-class citizens it is noteworthy that they are the first to witness the resurrection and to be witnesses to the resurrection. These women had value, not because of their relationship status, their looks, or how hard they had worked in their lives. Jesus valued these women because they trusted in him and what he did for them! You too, can trust in him for what he has done for you! #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Jesus’ resurrection proves that he has already paid for all your sins. It’s like a receipt God gives you because he never wants you to doubt where you stand with him. Easter does not teach that you must still do something to be worthy or pay him back. Easter provides the certainty that your sins are forgiven. God’s Ultimate Love is Perfect Love. We’ve talked about Ultimate Love—the love that comes from Heavenly Father. Do you feel like you’ve grown closer to him? Like you have a new understanding of the depth of his love for you? I pray that you have seen the amazing love of God more clearly than before. Our final Bible reading comes from the great “love chapter” of the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13. As you read through it, replace the words “love” and “it” with your name. “Rosa is patient, Jerry is kind. Tianna does not envy, Stef does not boast, Cameron is not proud..." As you go on through verse 8, the standard gets higher and higher, above our reach. It’s a bit of a gut punch, isn’t it? Who of us is so perfectly loving in our lives that we can make this fit? We can’t. We’ll never live up to that perfection. But there is one person who can, and who did. God is patient, God is kind. God does not envy, God does not boast, God is not proud. God does not dishonor others, God is not self-seeking, God is not easily angered, and God keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. God never fails. Amen! #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Ultimate love means Jesus taking our place on the cross. But Jesus did not only die for us; he also LIVED for us. He took our place and kept the commandments perfectly for us. During his entire life, he wove a perfect robe of righteousness for us. Every act of obedience was like another stitch in that robe. This is the sacred garment that gave Isaiah so much joy. Jesus has covered you with this robe of righteousness, too. Instead of looking at us and seeing our stains—our sins, our thoughts, our actions—Heavenly Father only sees Jesus’ perfect life covering us. Let this robe of righteousness give you great joy. This is the only righteousness that makes you worthy before God. This is the only righteousness that meets God’s standard of perfection. This is the only righteousness that God will accept on Judgment Day. And wonder of wonders! God freely gives this righteousness, this perfection. He clothes people with this robe by bringing them to faith. ULTIMATE LOVE IS: God’s Ultimate Love clothes us with righteousness. Download our printable guide to discover the Ultimate Love! Add Anything to Grace and You End Up With Nothing Listen to the way the Bible describes the gift of God’s undeserved love. “If by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace” (Romans 11:6). Either it’s truly a gift without any strings attached, or you’ll spend your whole life enslaved trying to earn it and still fall far short. Either Jesus did it all when he said, “It is finished!” (John 19:30), or we insist he didn’t do enough, toss away his gift, and try to earn God’s favor on our own. Add anything to grace, and you end up with nothing. We could never earn Jesus' love, and we don’t have to because we already have it. His gift is all that we need. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Would you still call it a gift? If a friend gave you a generous gift and then told you that if you wanted to keep it you had to wash their car or clean their bathrooms, would you still call what they gave you a gift? 2 Corinthians 5:21 shows how Jesus stepped in for us. Since he didn’t have any sin of his own, he could suffer the punishment for our sins. “Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows...with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4-5). Your sin is gone. Jesus also lived a perfect life under the law for us. His flawless record is credited as a gift. Jesus is the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). He came “not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). What is so amazing about this taking away of sin and ransom is that he didn’t wait for us to make ourselves acceptable to him. “Behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5) When Christ utters these words, it’s not a plan or a goal; it’s a declaration grounded in his finished work. Everything he has done—from creation to redemption—culminates in this ultimate renewal. It’s easy to look at the brokenness around us, even the brokenness within us, and wonder if renewal is possible. Yet, Christ’s work assures us it is not just possible; it is guaranteed. He has already conquered death, justified us, and secured our eternal inheritance. And now he is in the process of making all things new, not by our works but by his work, completed on the cross and confirmed at the empty tomb. When you place your trust in Jesus’ work alone, your renewal isn’t a future possibility but a present reality grounded in the all-sufficient, all-powerful, all-completed work of Jesus Christ. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

At Christmas, Jesus didn’t come to find those who had it all put together or those who had proved their faithfulness to him. Jesus came for the tired the weary and the worn. He welcomed all the unfaithful when he said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Because Jesus lived perfectly as a man, and sacrificed himself fully as God, his one payment for all sins was accepted. Your debt has been erased by Jesus, who humbled himself to earth and is now exalted in the heavens. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. Jesus invites the empty-handed, the thirsty, the wanting. See how our merciful Savior loves us! “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David” (Isaiah 55:1-3). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

What does your family do to celebrate Christmas? Do you have numerous traditions that fill your day? Do you gather with many people, or with only a few? Spending time with family is a common practice across cultures. Apart from your earthly family, did you know that you are also a part of God’s family? What does it mean to be a part of God’s family? In 1 John, it says that “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him” (1 John 5:1). Without faith, our imperfect, unfaithful hearts exclude us from acceptance into his family. Fortunately for us, that’s not where the story ends. Praise be to God that he accepts us as his own because of faith in his one and only Son! #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

This child’s birth changed man’s relationship with God. Sinful man is hostile to God. Because of what this child would do, a holy God is now at peace with man. In that first Christmas devotional, delivered to the shepherds, “The angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:10, 14). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Do you feel peace today? Truly? Maybe you feel a bit of peace, but you still have stress about your to-do list. And, also a little guilt because you let an unkind word slip to your spouse this morning. You’re not doing absolutely perfectly, but you keep trying, so that’s what counts, right? Besides, who can really have peace these days? Even though our world isn’t filled with peace, Jesus offers it to you, today. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Your life will always contain errands, careers, crises, and an uncertain future. Christmastime generally offers even more stress and demands. But, instead of dwelling in anxiety, you can remember these words from John. Rest in the peace that he offers you. He has overcome the world! #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1, 14) Amidst a world captivated by fleeting pleasures, Christmas stands as a testament to eternal love. The Word—Jesus, God in human form—stepped into our reality, embodying grace, truth, and divine glory. This was not just the birth of a holy man but the arrival of God among us, on a cosmic mission to be the ultimate sacrifice for sin and bestow everlasting life. As you navigate the Christmas season, pause to ponder God breaking into human history. The enormity of God condensed into an infant brought reconciliation. This miraculous birth, wrapped in swaddling clothes, is the best gift ever. Focus on the story's essence: it’s not about your efforts but what God, through Christ, has accomplished—from the manger to an empty tomb. Embrace this gift, let it transform your life, and live in the joy and assurance it brings—not just this Christmas but for eternity. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

How much is Jesus worth? That sounds like a foolish question, right? Every human life is worth more than any amount of money or stuff. Except, there was actually a value placed on Jesus’ life: Thirty silver coins. How much are you worth? We struggle with that don’t we? Feelings of worthlessness too often overwhelm us. Except, Jesus already declared how much you’re worth: His life! “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:18-19). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Isn’t it interesting to think of a lamb, meek and frail, being a Savior? The name “Lamb of God” for Jesus is fitting. Jesus humbled himself from almighty God on high to helpless babe on earth. Nevertheless, his unassuming appearance and humble living couldn’t discount the amazing sacrifice he would offer. “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). The same Lamb of God, who was born in a manger from a virgin, would be responsible for the greatest act of love this world has ever known. When I read these words from Isaiah that were written 600 years before you were born, I realize that as the eternal God, your heart and soul has always been on the cross. You are always there suffering, always risen, always sending the Holy Spirit, always loving me. Thank you for taking away the thousands ways I have disappointed you. Help me to let that same grace flow through me to those who have let me down. I want to live in the shadow of the cross being forgiven and learning to forgive everyone. “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth” (Isaiah 53:6-9). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

In the Book of Isaiah, in his anger and wrath, God was still the Father of his people. By his harsh and angry voice, he convicted them of sin. They could offer him nothing to appease his wrath and persuade him to forgive. Even their offerings and prayers could not remove sin and make them acceptable to God. The diagnosis was evident through the law. The prognosis was death, punishment, and separation from God. What’s more, there was no excuse or escape available to any person. Before God’s law, we stand under the same condemnation. But God supplies what is needed. God earlier had demanded, “Wash and make yourselves clean” (1:16). They could not! True washing could only be the work of God. Now God says, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18). This is not a reprieve, where their previous sins are forgotten, and the people are provided with a fresh start. God’s justice required payment for sin. Isaiah explains throughout his prophecy how God himself will supply the price for sin in the Holy One of Israel, the Servant, who will give his life for unworthy and sinful children—yes, for all the world—Jew and Gentile alike. The Holy One of Israel has shed his blood to remove sin. “The blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Our enemy, the Devil, would love to keep us from knowing God’s love profoundly. However, God loves to help us know him and know his presence with us, especially when life is hard. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that God is present with us and near us. Near to the pain we feel. Near to the loss, we can’t fill. Near to the needs we have and can’t even yet express. “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18) For the brokenhearted, God gives nearness. So God, in his faithfulness at Christmas, came near to be with us as Immanuel—God with us. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

The call of Matthew to be a disciple of Jesus manifests the mercy of God. The Pharisees knew the Scriptures and walked the walk. They left no sacrifice undone. Their outward righteousness and place of respect among the people were the mirror opposite of the man sitting in the tax collector’s booth. Despised as a quisling and swindler, the tax collectors only companions were the other “sinners” who lived beyond the pale of Jewish Law. Yet the call of Christ to faith and apostleship did not come to these outwardly righteous Pharisees but to the tax collector. So powerful was the call that Matthew left his station and his old life behind and followed. As far as the Pharisees were concerned, Jesus’ calling a tax collector to be a disciple (and later to be an apostle) clearly demonstrated that Jesus did not take God’s law seriously. The teachers of the law looked upon tax collectors as traitors to their race, servants of the hated Herod Antipas, and menials of heathen Rome. They were “sinners,” outcasts from the synagogue. “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Mark 2:17). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb.” (Revelation 12:11) The ultimate victory is already secured, and it wasn’t won by human strength, strategy, or moral integrity. It was won by ‘the blood of the Lamb.’ It’s easy to overlook the magnitude of this phrase. The blood of Christ isn’t just a theological point; it’s the linchpin of our faith and the basis for our reconciliation with God. It’s a vivid reminder that our triumph doesn’t come from what we accomplish but from what Christ has decisively achieved on our behalf. He didn’t make a down payment, requiring us to keep up with the installments. He paid it all. So when you face spiritual battles and existential doubts, remember: your victory is already secured and anchored in Christ’s completed work on the cross. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

There are no better stories than stories of lost and found. The Bible is full of them. Like Zacchaeus. Remember him? He’s the “wee little man” that the children’s song sings about. But he was lost. Lost in sin and doubt and fear. And Jesus rescued him. All by grace. “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). Did you know that Jesus has done the same for you and me? He came to seek and to save you. Jesus knows your name. Jesus can pick you out of a crowd. Jesus loves you! When Jesus returns as judge, everyone will face one of two outcomes. Either they will be judged righteous in Christ and experience the peace and joys of eternal life with God. Or they will be judged wicked and suffer an unquenchable fire. Paul explained the first of these two outcomes in his letter to Titus, stating, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:11-14). The grace God showed us in sending his Son not only changes our lives now but also changes our eternal destiny. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Christmas Promises: To You! In the animated Christmas classic "A Charlie Brown Christmas", Charlie Brown laments, "Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?" In one of the simplest, and yet most powerful responses in cartoon history, Linus calmly quotes Luke 2:8-14, including the words, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). Then he confidently said to Charlie Brown, "That's what Christmas is all about." I pray that God gives you the same clarity and certainty that Linus had about the true meaning of Christmas. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Of all the beautiful truths in that verse, one that I never want you to forget are the two little words, "to you." Jesus was born to you! That's good to know, because you need him. Even all the joy of the Christmas season can't hide the sins that we carry in our hearts. Even all the outward smiles and happy songs can't cover the guilt of what we did yesterday - or 30 years ago. If there's a Savior from sin, I need him. If there's a Savior from sin, you need him. It's good to know that Jesus was born to you! That's good to know, because that means that everything Jesus did, he did for you. When he left heaven to be born in a stable, he did that for you. When he kept all of God's commands without ever sinning once, he did that for you. When he died on the cross, he did that for you. When he rose again and promised eternal life to all who believed in him, he did that for you. There is nothing greater than hearing that a Savior has been born to you! #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

When was Jesus born? You know. In fact, the birth of Jesus was of such great historical significance that our whole dating system revolves around Jesus’ birth. That fact can be quite an embarrassment to non-Christian people today. 2020 what? Two thousand twenty years after the birth of Jesus! Isn’t it great that our Savior Jesus and his birth are the centers of our dating system? It’s just that our dating system might be a little off. The date of Jesus’ birth—and our modern dating system—was calculated in 525 A.D. by a Christian monk named Dionysius Exiguus. As careful as Dionysius was to pinpoint the year of Jesus’ birth, it seems like he was a little off. The Bible tells us that Herod the Great was King of Israel when Jesus was born (Matthew 2:1). Most historians believe that Herod died in the year 4 B.C. So, Jesus was probably born sometime between 6 B.C. and 4 B.C. But there’s an even better answer. When was Jesus born? Exactly when God wanted him to be! Here’s how the Apostle Paul described the timing: “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons” (Galatians 4:4-5). When was Jesus born? Just like everything that happens in our world, Jesus was born at God’s set time. At exactly the time for him to redeem us and make us the children of God! And now, Since we have been redeemed by God’s true Son, we are able to call God “Father.” #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

In Isaiah, the Lord promised that deliverance would come through the gift of Immanuel—“God with us.” And how would he be recognized? He would be born of a virgin. The angel speaking to despondent Jospeh proclaimed of the baby to be born to his betrothed Mary, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the Prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (Matthew 1:21-23). Joseph’s day started with bad news. It appeared that Mary his wife to be had been unfaithful to him. But the day ended with good news. Mary had not been unfaithful to Joseph, the child to be born from her was from the Holy Spirit. God had made good on his promise of Immanuel—in Christ, the faithful God came to be with us. Jesus is Immanuel: God with us! That’s our comfort when life is good and when it’s not. God with us! Those three little words give you strength in the face of despair. God with us! They are your protection against fear. God with us! You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You are loved. You are forgiven. Jesus is with you. It’s even his name: Immanuel—“God with us. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

Do you want to know if God loves you, YOU? Look at what he was willing to do for you. When you were not just weak and “powerless” but an “ungodly” sinner actively opposed to him, Christ died for you—as he did for everyone. That is God’s one-way, never-stopping, never-giving-up love in action. The Apostle Paul explained God’s one way love in this way, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8) #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

“Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” - Revelation 1:17 (NIV) These words from Christ himself stand as a testament to his eternal nature and the completion of his work. He is the beginning and the end—the Alpha and Omega. He is not a temporary fix or a seasonal fad; he is the eternal solution to humanity’s deepest needs. When Christ spoke these words, he had already lived, died, and risen again. His work was complete. Every prophecy fulfilled, every sin paid for, every ounce of wrath absorbed—so that in him, we might become the righteousness of God. If you’re holding onto any other hope for acceptance before God, let it go. Why did Jesus need to be born at Christmas? He needed to be born so that he could deal with our dying. Along with the Devil and sin, Jesus came to defeat and destroy the power of death. The Apostle Paul explained the reason for this when he wrote, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). Just as what Adam did affected all people, what Jesus did impacted all people. In Adam, all sin and die. In Christ, all may be declared perfect and live. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

At Christmas, Jesus came to destroy sin, sin’s guilt hanging over our heads, and sin’s power gripping our minds and hearts. He came to declare war on sin, which in every case is rebellious lawlessness against the holy will of God. John explained Jesus came to defeat the Devil and sin, when he wrote, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8). #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

If there ever was someone who knew about unfaithfulness, it was the Prophet Hosea. God had told him to take an unfaithful adulterous wife, and Hosea learned about God’s faithfulness and unending love through his relationship with Gomer. Rightfully aware of the people’s (and his own) unfaithfulness to the Lord and his word, Hosea prayed in response to the chastening hand of God and instead of arguing with God, or resenting his correction, he said, “Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up” (Hosea 6:1). Hosea understood that the same God who would bring about judgment on sin is the same (and the only God) who could heal him and the people. Only a faithful God could heal and love adulterous/idolatrous people like you and me. Come though you are broken, and God will heal you. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

As the month of December begins, you might ask yourself, “How am I going to get everything I need to get done, done before Christmas? Why does Christmas need to create so much stress? When and how did Christmas become such a busy and burdensome time? Jesus wasn’t born at Christmas to give you more to do or place another burden upon your shoulders; instead, Jesus came to take your burdens upon himself so that you could rest, truly rest in him. So when the baby, born in Bethlehem, grew up, he said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28). This year as you look forward to Christmas, don’t think about all that you must do, instead think about the one who came to do for you what you could never do for yourself and, in the process, give you rest, rest for your body and most importantly rest for your soul. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.” (1 John 3:16) Love isn’t an abstract concept or a fleeting emotion; it’s a person, and that person is Jesus Christ. It’s one thing to say, “I love you,” and quite another to demonstrate that love by laying down your life. But Christ did precisely that. He became the embodiment of love through his perfect obedience to the Father, his sacrificial death, and his victorious resurrection. This profound love transforms our entire status before God—from enemies to children, from condemned to forgiven. Every aspect of God’s love finds its ultimate expression and realization in Christ’s finished work. What about your struggles and failures? The perfect love of Christ shines brilliantly especially when we see how much we have fallen short — how much we have hurt Him in our attempts to be like Him. Yes, sin is not meeting Jesus’ standard of perfection, but only to emphasize our desperate need for Him. Out of our desperate need, we discover what Jesus has truly done for us — He rescued us from the serious consequences of our sins. He gave his Father perfect obedience — not to show us what we have to do — but because we could not meet His standard of obedience. He has met the standard by being our substitute. And then He paid the great price for every last one of our sins. And now, Jesus assures us that we don’t have to repay Him! He has lived and died for us so that we can live with Him forever. That’s Jesus’ promise to us! Happy Thanksgiving! In this season of thankfulness, we're reminded that Jesus is indeed enough for us—our ultimate source of peace, hope, and unwavering love. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession.” (1 Peter 2:9) These aren’t titles you earn; they’re identities you receive through faith in Christ alone. Christ is the Chosen One from eternity, and in his choosing, you are chosen. He is the true King and Priest; you are royal and priestly in him. He is the Holy One, and those who trust in him are sanctified and seen as holy before God. In Christ, God looks at you and sees his special possession, not because of your merit, but because of Christ’s work for you. From his miraculous birth to his obedient life, from his sacrificial death to his victorious resurrection, Jesus accomplished what you could never earn through religious observance or moral rectitude. So, if you ever doubt your standing before God, remember it’s not based on your wavering faithfulness but on Christ’s completed work. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword

You don’t pull books off the shelf written in a language you haven’t learned. Instead, you reach for something written in your language so you can easily understand it. The Bible was not originally written in a language that most people can read. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, a Semitic language of the region. (Some prophetic chapters in Ezra and Daniel were written in Aramaic). The New Testament was written in Greek, the language of scholarship in the place and the time it was recorded. Therefore, most people need to read from a translation to understand the Bible. “But he gives us more grace.” (James 4:6) The grace James speaks of is more than a spiritual topping; it’s a total replacement for our futile efforts. This grace was lived out in Christ’s life as he perfectly obeyed where we could not, spoke truth where we have lied, and loved where we have hated. It is a grace that took him to the cross, where he willingly took upon himself the sins of the world, your sins, and mine. And this grace didn’t end at the cross. He rose again, conquering death, rendering it powerless against those who believe in him. This ‘more grace’ is so comprehensive that it transforms us from enemies of God to his cherished children. It’s not about what you add to God’s grace but what Christ has completed perfectly on your behalf. #beyeperfect #byp #matthew548 #jesusisenough #gospel #devotions #godsword #godislove #godlovesyou #jesuslovesyou #perfection #salvation #jesussaves #forgiveness #forgiven #iamforgiven #worthyenough #amiworthy #whatdoesthebiblesay #faithinjesus #savingfaith #godisgood #godsword
