Some moments of mind, body, soul nourishment from the week 🤍 Slow morning make me realize how grateful I am for this healing journey. Years ago, I would feel the need to squeeze in workouts and hitting a certain number of steps before I “earned” rest. Now, I try to live FROM rest, not for it. Truthfully, that’s how we were created to live. From rest, not for it. From love, not for it. From surrender, not control. When we slow down, we make room for the good and meaningful stuff. I’m not perfect with it, and never will be. In a distance Reiki session, we start with a Zoom call, where we talk about what is going on for you, and I then take you through a relaxation meditation, before I begin your Reiki treatment. I also use oracle cards whether in person or online, to gain a deeper understanding for you. I hold a sacred space for you, regardless of the medium used for your Reiki session. Sporadic beach trip. First paddleboard outing of the year and it did not disappoint, beach with the besties is always one of my fave days. There’s something about being in your fave place with some of your fave people that is so soul nourishing! Geraldton, WA Jan to Apr We decided to stop for a few months as Todd got a job working on a pipeline with a Perth company. We started in a housesit for a month on a lovely acerage property in Greenough, just south of Geraldton. We've made friends for life with this friendly & welcoming family. They invited us to stay on for another month while the weather was extremely hot. The girls loved their responsibility of looking after the chickens & baby chicks, both girls love looking after animals & learnt so much about caring for & cuddling chicks. We met Raffy who is a super smart border collie with bucket loads of personality. We also stayed in April for another week of housesitting. Todd's mate from his hometown in Victoria invited us stay in his backyard for a few weeks also. The girls became great friends with his daughter & spent most of their time together either doing tricks on the trampoline or playing with slime. We celebrated Australia Day, Easter & Macee's 10th birthday. We spent the March long weekend in Perth to see P!nk & surprised the girls with a sneaky visit from Carolyn, #soulnourishing Todd slogged his guts out at this job, sometimes working 13day fortnight's, 12hrs a day, at times in 50 degree heat! He loves the work though & created some great friendships with beer & golf in common, always a winner. We joined a weekly homeschool group & met lovely families, some who are also travelling. We swam at the easily accessible & often empty beaches alot which was a welcome relief to the oppressive heat, nothing like the humid summer days back home in Qld though. Both the girls experienced horsemanship & learning to ride, went to clay workshops & art classes, tours of local factories & foreshore festivals. Macee was introduced to the sport of sailing, Todd had a haircut finally, The Ram had a stint at the mechanics, Stella perfected her back flips & aerials. Was so yummy 😋 Then I participated in strength PT class @boutiquefit_pt_studio followed by most relaxing sauna listening to Ed Mylett and Tony Robins podcast. Then I got to trainee coach the strength PT class after. I love coaching on a Wednesday learning new skills and implementing knowledge I do have. I am so grateful to cacao in these days when I’m too nauseous to eat anything but all I want to do is eat ALL THE THINGS! It’s such a nourishing divine support during ikura (menstruation) filled with magnesium, iron, calcium, zinc, and phosphorus, just what I’m in need of today. Cacao has held me through my monthly cycle and assisted great change in my physical body, relieving intense period pain symptoms and giving me a new lease on life. Weaving and bush clinic, my good friend Evelin visited our community, we spent a lovely evening weaving😀 Loving learning from her and the fibres!! It is so special to connect with people on their homeland, where they have been born or lived for many years. The land feels so supportive. This time of the year, it is absolutely stunning, still green from the summer rains with pleasant temperatures and clear skyes. This morning before setting up the space for the first massage recipient, I sat with the land and met some of its abundant furry inhabitants... I mean of the hopping variety... not Lawrence 🤣 who so generously shares his place to make this possible. 👋 Introducing myself to some new followers and sharing fun facts about me! My name is Micha (pronounced "myka"), short for Michaeleen. I was named after my grandpa Michael. 🥰 Born and raised in Chicago, but nowadays I'm a full-fledged West Coaster living in Portland (with pit stops in Colorado and Arizona along the way). Still love going back to visit my hometown, though! I'm always down for a nice, long walking adventure. Hills or flat, streets or hiking - I'm in for it all. 👟 Art is my passion, and watercolor painting has been my creative outlet lately. I love the freeing feeling of not having full control over the outcome. 🎨 Met my hubby Dylan during a study abroad program in Costa Rica back in the day. A few years later, we got married on top of an extinct volcano – Mt. Tabor, right here in Portland! 💞 Foodie at heart with a serious case of adventurous tastebuds. My default mode is pretty serious and focused. I've worked hard to build more playful activities into my life, whether it's games, sports, art, or cooking.
