I HAD THAT SAME DREAM AGAIN by Yoru Sumino (2016) The art of Ikigai. Embracing happiness as it is. Nanoka met three ladies along her journey to find the meaning of happines. A grandma, a high-school girl and an adult woman; each holds different idea of happiness. I would say the plot is pretty much simple and relaxing yet not too simple because these three identities are so mysterious that they got me hooked to know their relation with Nanoka. Are they truly a person? An entity from the future? Or perhaps a wandering ghost that happens to share similar conditions with Nanoka? 🤔 my take is that she's unconsciously met three wandering ghost that looks perfectly normal until she can see and learn her lesson as much as they learn theirs. Because the abandoned houses and the different tenant that has been living there for 4 years are just too ironic 😶 The protagonist's character can be rather annoyingly narcisst for calling everyone around her as stupid but that's just some lil' kid that doesn't knows much about life and she soon learn her lesson from one of those ladies. It's a good development to see she changes into someone better even though she grew into adult in chapter 11. Not only that, she even braced herself to mend the bond that were once severed by her cause. In any way she could. 🌟 Exciting Update! 🌟 On Monday, May 6th, 2024, The LEAD Org program coordinators Angelica, Sola, and and Valerie Le, Career Confidence Coach had the honor of leading a workshop on “Career Clarity: Discovering Purpose and Confidence with Ikigai” at the @uoftbsa U of T Black Students’ Association (BSA) 25th Annual High School Conference: “Black Brilliance & Beyond”. Together, we guided over 150 youth to uncover their purpose and build confidence using the empowering framework of Ikigai (meaning "your reason for being). By facilitating a holistic way to look at careers, it was incredible to witness participants embracing their potential and gaining clarity on their career paths, by identifying what they love, what they excel at, what they can get paid for, and what the world needs. These 4 areas combined together creates one's "Ikigai", your purpose and motivation in life. We're immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an inspiring event dedicated to expanding students’ horizons. The engaging activities, thought-provoking sessions, and genuine connections made it a true success. A big shoutout to BSA at U of T for inviting us to make an impact in the community! Publica fábulas de crecimiento personal, y en cada libro se aborda alguna cuestión y/o conflicto emocional. ¿El formato? Relato corto, a modo de cuento con #moraleja, con #reflexiones y en tono de aprendizaje. Este es el último título publicado, el #SerieEmociones26, y, en esta ocasión, aborda el trauma y su cura. 🗯️Nina tiene 20 años y ha comenzado a ir a terapia. Estudia una carrera que le gusta y sale a veces con sus amigos. Pero no es feliz del todo. Hay días que parece otra, y está triste y apática, y no quiere saber nada del mundo.🗯️ Este nuevo título de la colección creo que es el más corto de extensión de todos, pero es muy bueno. Está muy bien. Se queda entre mis favoritos. Viene acompañado de un epílogo a cargo de su autor, que es psicólogo clínico y psicoterapeuta. En él, y a través de varias preguntas, ahonda en el tema e intenta ayudar a encontrar el origen del sufrimiento, en muchos casos ya bien instalado internamente. Algo que en la primera parte del libro, el cuento, aparece también muy bien reflejado en la historia de Nina. • ¿Qué encontraréis en este libro? Chocolate Chip Walnut Brownies! A special order came in for some brownies with the main request being walnuts. I suggested chocolate chips with the walnuts and here is the result! These brownies are fudgy and packed with chocolate. I used 72% cacao chocolate chips from @traderjoes and a 70% cocoa @lindt chocolate bar. I chopped up some walnuts from @costco as the final mix-in. I garnished each square with a few more chips and a whole walnut half. I'm very pleased with how these came out. If you like fudgy brownies, check these out! (Approx 1 minute 40 second read) When practitioners perform set kumite, drills, or sparring, they stand facing an opponent. . Why then do some practitioners, when performing applications to kata, wait for an opponent to attack from the side, anticipating blocking an attack? . It makes no sense does it? Yet this is how modern bunkai is performed. . Kenwa Mabuni one of the greatest kata exponents of the time stated; “When interpreting kata, one must not get too caught up in these directions. For example, do not fall into the trap of thinking that just because a kata begins to the left that the opponent is always attacking from the left.” . There is a misconception that the turns, when performing kata, represent where an enemy is attacking from. This is misleading. Mabuni tells us so. . The kata informs you to move TO an angle in relation to the enemy. It is not where they are attacking FROM. . Consider this: In set kumite, drills, or sparring, you face an opponent directly in front of you. In your kata application, instead of turning to face them, as you might have done before, whether by pre-emption or after an attack is initiated, aim to move to an angle suggested by the kata. . For example, many kata initially perform what seems like a left turn. But what you are actually trying to achieve is an angle in relation to your opponent. In other words, you have moved off their attack line. . An effective kata application should move us to a position of dominance with an attacker, which is NOT directly in front of them. You can of course consider moving them off the attack line too. . Any application which gets you to the point in which you are equal with your attacker, is not effective and useful. True effectiveness lies in achieving a dominant position. . Within kata it offers us a vast toolbox of principles and movements, not just a set of pre-programmed blocks against attacks from specific directions. . Students often encounter kata sequences that begin with facing forward, followed by a turn and a block.
