The Blood Traitor by Lynette Noni Here are my thoughts on the last book in The Prison Healer series, I definitely liked The Blood Traitor more than book 2 (The Gilded Cage) but I still found it difficult to like Kiva. I would believe that Kiva from 1st book was clever and resilient enough to survive 10 years with the most notorious criminals in deathly prison Zalindov...but that Kiva disappeared after book 1 and we got naive and whiny Kiva who acts like a clueless child. While I respect the loyalty she has for her family, Kiva really needed a back bone to stand up for herself, she had to much understanding for people who didn't deserve it. And she was so quick to forgive people who did her dirty every single time, she is better person than me 😂 I was waiting for her to grow and get some character developement but she didn't. I know that the main love story should circle around Kiva and Jaren but her and Caldon had the sweetest relationship, their friendship is why I kept reading this series! Caldon and Cresta were my favourites! #reviewtime ⏺️ Meine Meinung zu zu The Prison Healer ⏺️ Genre: Fantasy AutorIn: Lynette Noni Verlag: Hodder And Stoughton ⏺️ Story: Wir folgen einer jungen Gefangenen, welche in einem Gefängnis als Heilerin bzw. Ärztin arbeitet. In der Welt in der die Geschichte spielt gibt es auch Magie und es ist nicht die tatsächliche Welt. Wir bewegen uns also im Genre Fantasy. Aber zurück zur Story, wir folgen der Gefangenen bei ihrem Alltag im Gefängnis und lernen sie und ihre Mitmenschen besser kennen und teilweise auch deren Hintergründe. Meine Meinung: Den Anfang in das Buch habe ich nur schwer gefunden. Mir kam die Geschichte relativ zäh vor, bis dann mal etwas passiert und richtig Fahrt auf kommt. Aber das liegt vermutlich auch am Setting, da die ganze Story (bis auf Rückblicke) im oder in der näheren Umgebung des Gefängnisses spielt. Zwischenzeitlich fand ich die Story wieder gut bis sehr gut. Aber gegen Ende, wo vermutlich eigentlich die Plottwists zünden sollen und Geheimnisse ans Licht kommen, hat meine Begeisterung wieder abgenommen. Für mich war die 1. Enthüllung nicht sonderlich überraschend, die 2. auch nicht und die letzte ist für mich immer noch unlogisch. Meiner Meinung nach passt die Erzählweise dann nicht zum Ende. Mehr kann ich wegen Spoilergefahr nicht sagen. Aber „when you know, you know“. Mein Fazit: An sich eine interessante Idee, die leider nicht so gut umgesetzt worden ist. Daher „nur“ 3 Sterne von mir. ⏺️ Meine Bewertung: 3 ⭐️ ⏺️ Die Notizen wurden während dem Lesen mit @reado_official gemacht. ⏺️ Das ist nur meine Meinung. While the unique prison setting hooked me, the slow narration and repetitive plot kept me at arm's length from the characters. The prison trials? Meh. I finally read The Prison Healer trilogy by Lynette Noni after @page.turners.with.tee rec’d it to me (& I believe gifted me one of the books??) forever ago 😫🤣 The Prison Healer is about 17 year old Kiva who is imprisoned at the death prison Zalindov and working as the healer for the inmates and guards, taking over after he father’s death after the pair were incarcerated when she was a child when her family was wrongly accused of being involved in a rebellion against the crown. When the rebel queen herself is finally captured and brought to Zalindov in a bad state, Kiva is the only one who can keep her alive and more than her own life is at stake if she can’t. Book one sees Kiva compete in deadly trials on the queen’s behalf as she waits for her remaining family to rescue her and she can only hope they come in time. The series follows Kiva as she navigates a kingdom at war from the inside. This is a YA trilogy with plenty of action and political intrigue, loveable characters and a sweet romance. The Prison Healer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a 4.5 star read until THE LAST PAGE!! 🤯🤯 The cliffhanger was immaculate and if you say you was the twist coming I don’t believe you. The Gilded Cage ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Book two saw a lot of new characters introduced and existing characters had great development. The last third or so of this book I was literally on the edge of my seat. The Blood Traitor ⭐️⭐️ 😬😬😬 Then she’s here too… No but it physically hurt to be so disappointed in the final instalment of this series. There were a few things that really killed it for me but I just found myself bored for most of this book and it took me almost 2 weeks to finish after reading the first books in a day each. 😅 Outside of the main character I thought character development was almost non-existent and all conflicts were solved much too quickly. Also maybe this one is on me because I never forgave a particular character after their shenanigans in book two (iykyk 👀) and so I just didn’t want them to ever have anything good in their life again. J'ai lu 🔥 : The prison healer, tome 2 : La princesse rebelle :The gilded cage @lynettenoni / M.E @hachetteromans Fantasy/Romance/Y.A Date de publication : 8 mars 2023 496 pages 🔥 Je décrirais ce tome comme celui de la transition. Il n'est pas aussi intense que le tome 1 mais met en place les pions et donne les explications sur tout ce que l'on supposait ou attendait dans le tome précédent afin de nous préparer au tome suivant. 🔥 On y découvre la romance entre Kiva et Jaren, certe slow mais tellement charmante. On fait la connaissance de la famille Royale, leurs membres, leurs caractéristiques mais aussi certains de leurs secrets. 🔥 La famille de Kiva nous est enfin dévoilée. On aperçoit très clairement ce qu'il s'est passé à l'extérieur durant ces années. J'ai lu 🌱 The prison healer, tome 1 : La guérisseuse de Zalindov Fantasy/Magie/Romance/Y.A @lynettenoni / M.E @hachetteromans Date de publication : 17 août 2022 420 pages 🌱 Ce premier tome à été pour moi une très belle découverte et la manière dont l'histoire est amenée frôle la pépite. C'est le premier livre de Lynette Noni qui passe entre mes mains (comme beaucoup je suppose) et c'est un vrai réussite. 🌱 L'histoire se passe dans la prison de Zalindov, ce lieu sinistre, terrifiant ou chaque prisonnier joue sa vie. Kiva en est la guérisseuse. Cette jeune femme qui a grandi au sein de cette prison, est devenue le "médecin" qui se voit confier l'arrivée et le marquage des prisonniers ainsi que le suivi de cette étrange épidémie. Mais Zalindov est bien plus qu'une prison et des évènements étranges vont s'y passer. 🌱 Lynette Noni met en scène dans ce huis-clos, une histoire très prometteuse qui démarre doucement mais qui ne manque pas de piquer notre curiosité, jusqu'à prendre son envol dès le milieu du livre. Le passage des "pages noires" qui m'intriguais lors de l'achat du livre, on été une découverte étonnante et magnifique quand j'en ai compris le sens. 🌱 Mystères, magies, enjeux font de ce premier tome une réussite. After being in a huge reading slump for over a week, I started reading 'The Prison Healer' by Lynette Noni and I'm so glad that I did. *** Kiva Meridan has spent the past 10 years as a healer in Zalindov, the most notorious death prison in all of Wenderall, specially made to house the kingdom's deadliest criminals, but a little known fact is that half the people in the prison are actually innocent, just like Kiva. She got thrown in for trying to prevent her father from being sent away and had been fighting for her life since then. Most prisoners don't survive more than a few months or a year at best, but Kiva is a survivor. Day by day she healed countless prisoners, and day by day she carved the ugly 'Z' symbol in the flesh of new arrivals, scarring them forever. Inevitably, she made some enemies in the rebels, those who believed that the Vallentis family, the rulers, should be overthrown by others who carry royal blood. Things were working out fine for Kiva, that is until Tilda Corentine, the Rebel Queen, arrived. With a secret message from her family to protect Tilda at all costs, Kiva's life turned upside-down and she found herself stuck in the middle of the Trial by Ordeal, a series of elemental challenges which no one had ever survived before. *** There are very few books that actually break my 5 star scale, but this was definitely one of them. It was captivating throughout and had many unexpected moments. I simply had to read the other books in this trilogy and each book ended with a new twist that made me long for more. 📖Book Review 📖 Powerless- Lauren Roberts ⚔️ 🌟🌟🌟💫 Happy #fantasyfriday everyone! I’m hiding in the toilet to write this so please enjoy 🤣 I squeezed this one into April after so much hype! I thought for ages that it wasn’t that exciting for me but the hype got to be and I bought it… Only to find it was meh 😶 I hate the FMC’s name which really detracted from the book, sometimes when fantasy authors are coming up with names it’s like they’ve just smashed a load of letters together and it gives me the ick 😅 As a result I never felt bonded with with her and almost resented her character. I found that the book was *incredibly* similar to a lot of other YA books I’ve read and enjoyed which meant I was bored in this one because it used those same ideas but failed to deliver anything unique 🤷🏻♀️ I have plans for a reel sharing some similar books for everyone who enjoyed this and wants more recs! I did enjoy the balls, they were really fun and when the characters got to have those slow and romantic moments is when I enjoyed the book the most 🫶 I also really enjoyed elements of the first trial, I feel like it was the only one that had great detail to it and the rest of them were very descriptive and surface level ✨ I also thought it could have been 100 pages shorter for the content it delivered 😬 I feel like this sounds really negative but it wasn’t, it was just average? ✨Sentimental Post Warning✨ These three books were recommended to me last year by @acaffeinated_bookworm, who I’m very lucky to have as my sister in law and lifetime book bestie. Egyik nap azonban, egy új rab érkezik a börtönbe, aki nem más mint, a hírhedt lázadó királynő Tilda Cortine, akinek ki kell állnia a végzet próbáját ahhoz, hogy ártatlannak nyilváníthassák. A királynő egészségügyi állapota egyre csak rosszabbodik. Kiva pedig azt az üzenetet kapja a családjától, hogy ne hagyja meghalni és mindenképpen tartsa életben. Emiatt Kiva átvállalja a szerepét és elvállalja a lehetetlennek tűnő Végzet Próbáját. Már az első perctől kezdve elvarázsolt a fülszövege, így izgatottan vártam mit is hoz ki belőle az írnónő. Amit először ki szeretnék emelni történettel kapcsolatban az nem más mint, a helyszín. ( ami szerintem nagyon különleges) Hiszem nem sok fantasy történetről mondható el, hogy teljes egészében egy börtönben játszódik. Zalindov ugyebár egy halálbörtön ahová a legkülönfélébb bünözők kerülnek és ahová Kiva is került. Tetszett, hogy bepillantást nyerhetettem a börtön rideg hétköznapjaiba. Kiva karaktere egy meglepetés volt a számomra. Annyira egy jóravaló, erős, bátor szenélyiséget ismerhettem meg általa, ami manapság a fantasy főszereplőről többé kevésbé mondható el. Az utóbbi időben azt vettem észre az ilyen zsánerű könyveknél, hogy a főszereplő folyamatosan drámázik, feleslegesen hősködik és a végén mindig őt kell megmenteni. Kiva karaktere azonban, nem ilyen volt. A maga módján igyekezett segíteni mindenkin, még azokon is akik ártani akartak neki és a szeretteiért is képes lett volna tűzön vízen átmenni. Még úgyis, hogy évek óta csak leveleken keresztül tartották a kapcsolatot. Az alap koncepció viszont egyszerre zavart és tetszett.Tetszett, mert szeretem az ilyen sztorikat, de egy picit unalmassá tette a számomra, hogy már az elején kitaláltam a csattanót. ⬇️

Ablası Zuleeka ve abisi Torell ile tanışmak güzel olsa da Zuleeka ilk dakikadan itibaren nefretimi kazandı. Kiva’ya olan davranışlarını oldukça acımasız, öfkeli ve sert buldum kitap boyunca kendisi ile yıldızımız hiç barışmadı. Kitapta kalbimi sıcacık eden en büyük detay kesinlikle Prens Jaren’di!🤍Bir karakter bu kadar düşünceli, iyi kalpli ve sevecen olabilirdi. Kiva ve Jaren’i okumak inanılmaz güzeldi fakat Kiva’nın sadakatinin kime olduğunu karar verene kadar ki süreç çok sancılıydı. Kitapta ki ters köşeler yine inanılmazdı hangi birine şaşıracağım bilemedim yazarın bu yanını gerçekten çok seviyorum. Son an’a kadar heyecanım ve merakım baki kaldı. J'ai adoré tous les tomes avec un énorme coup de coeur pour le 1er ! 🗡Je ne referais pas de résumé, je vous laisse voir mes chroniques des 2 premiers si vous voulez en savoir plus. 💍 Ce tome final est très rythmé et termine en apothéose les aventures de Kiva. Je ne me suis pas ennuyée une seule fois. La plume de l'autrice est tellement agréable. J'ai hâte de lire d'autres romans d'elle. Je suis souvent team personnages secondaires, j'ai été servi dans cette saga d'ailleurs (Caldon 😉), mais j'avoue que Kiva restera dans mon coeur pour toujours. Un savoureux mélange du tome 1 & 2 ! Avec ce dernier volet, l’autrice m’a réconcilié avec l’ensemble de la trilogie. J’avais adoré le tome 1, le tome 2 m'a un poil déçu (je vous laisse aller voir mon avis complet ;). Ce dernier tome est rythmé, il se passe une multitude d’actions et parfois, j’ai même trouvé que ça allait un peu trop vite. J’aurai bien aimé 100 pages de plus pour avoir plus de description sur les différentes épreuves que Kiva va encore devoir relever et sur les trajets qu’elle effectue. J’ai adoré : 👉Le début avec cette atmosphère pesante et intense qui fait un clin d’œil avec le tome 1 ! 👉La plume de l’autrice. 👉Les relations entre les différents personnages : évolution des sentiments et leurs retranscriptions 👉Les rebondissements que je n’avais pas vu venir ou pas totalement 👉La fin, clairement pépite ! L’autrice à répondu à l’ensemble de mes interrogations. Les personnages : Caldon, Tipp, Cresta = Cœur sur eux ! ❤️ “Le sang de la trahison” vient parfaitement clôturer la trilogie que je recommande les yeux fermés surtout aux personnes qui souhaitent se lancer dans la fantasy. L’univers est bien développé mais pas compliqué à comprendre. Les personnages sont également bien construits et intéressants ! Bref, lisez cette trilogie ! ❤️ Partagez-vous mon avis ? Pour ma part, je n’ai qu’une hâte lire les autres romans de Lynette Noni : The Medoran Chronicles ou la série Whisper. A történetért, a szereplőkért, a fordulatokért és ezért a kegyetlen világért. ❤ Úgy érzem szeretem kínozni magam, mert abban a pillanatban, hogy befejeztem, azzal a lendülettel legszívesebben kihajítottam volna az ablakon. Megérdemelné. Nagyon. Viccet félretéve, tényleg fantasztikus volt ez az ifjúsági regény, új kedvencet avattam általa. A cselekmény kicsit lassabban indult be, de utána rendesen felpörögtek az események és a lendület csak úgy vitt magával. Izgalmas volt minden perce, tele titkokkal, csavarokkal és háttérben játszódó intrikákkal. Soha nem olvastam még olyan könyvet, melynek a főszereplője évek óta egy kegyetlen börtönben sínylődik, így eleinte nem igazán tudtam mire számítsak, de végül egy nagyon eredeti (azért vannak szokásos elemei, de az se baj) történetet kaptam. Ez a könyv az első pillanattól kezdve félre akarja vezetni az olvasóit, hogy utána a végén nagyot koppanjanak. Néha velem is megtette… FELHÁBORÍTÓ, hogy át akart verni! 🤣 Komolyra véve a szót tényleg tele volt fordulatokkal, így párszor fel kellett kaparnom az államat a földről, de azért voltak olyan csavarok is, amiket kitaláltam. Ám még így is… hogy tehette ezt az írónő? S mi a fenére számítsak még a folytatásnál? A Végzet Próbái közben a szívroham kerülgetett és cseppet sokkolódtam is, de minden percéért megérte! Ettől függetlenül szívesen lecsapnék valamit vagy valakit, legfőképp az utolsó oldalért. 🥺 Nehezen tértem magamhoz miatta. The Blood Traitor by @lynettenoni ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ At the beginning of this book I did have some mixed feelings, because I thought everything was kind of predictable and if there's one thing I don't like in books, it's when they're predictable, but eventually it just got better and better and now I really really love it. I loved that Jaren and Kiva's relationship didn't just IMMEDIATELY go back to what it was before and that Kiva, both of them really, had to fight for that to happen. I also really loved both Ashlyn and Tor in this book, especially since I missed Tor's presence a little bit in the second book, because I loved him so much and wanted to see more of him. Cresta really took me by surprise as well, I didn't think she's ever be mentioned again, but she was and now she's probably one of my favorite characters!! AND CALDON'S NEAR DEATH????? I for sure thought he was a goner when he said "No goodbyes. I'll see you soon." but he wasn't, I mean I was kinda right, and usually I do hate the whole coming back from the death ish thing, but anything for my man Caldon to stay alive 🙏🙏 I loved this series so so much and it's definitely one of my new favorite series! “Hope was a drug and Kiva, an addict.” 🌾🗝️🕯️ I’ve been really eager to start this series though I’ve heard surprisingly little about it. I think it’s a great starter fantasy read, it’s very easy to get into and keep up with. The first 100 pages or so I was drawn into the world and wanted to keep reading, but the middle was quite slow and repetitive. I wish the stakes were higher — the setting is a death prison after all, but it seemed pretty relaxed, and the trials Kiva must go through were short and relatively simple. The ending bumps this one up for me — it was truly shocking and while I guessed a couple of the twists, others took me by complete surprise! Quando un libro da cui non ti aspettavi granché ti stupisce in positivo è sempre un gran piacere, non è vero? 🥰 L'ultima lettura per me è stata The Prison Healer di Lynette Noni. È un fantasy, il primo di una trilogia (credo...per ora ne sono usciti soltanto due). La protagonista è Kiva, che sin da quando era molto piccola, vive dentro la prigione di Zalindov, dove era entrata con suo padre, ormai deceduto. Kiva è la guaritrice della prigione e il suo assistente fidato è Tipp, un bambino che lei vede ormai come un fratello. Kiva è una ragazza molto contentrata sul suo lavoro, coraggiosa, forte e schiva, non si fida di nessuno e non è abituata ad avere persone che tengono a lei. Per questo quando arriva Jaren, rimane stupida dal legame che li unisce, e anche se con difficoltà, riesce a trovare conforto nella sua vicinanza. 🥰 Tutto si complica quando Kiva decide di partecipare alle quattro prove del giudizio al posto della regina ribelle, arrivata in prigione in un pessimo stato di salute. La regina che comanda le ribellioni al di fuori della prigione, potrebbe essere liberata se supera le prove, ma non è in grado di partecipare e Kiva decide di farle al posto suo. Si tratta di quattro prove molto difficili, che prevedono il coinvolgimento dei quattro elementi. 🥰 La trama è molto interessante, il libro non è mai noioso e mi sono affezionata da subito ai protagonisti. E poi la fine...mi è piaciuto tantissimo il colpo di scena finale! Davvero geniale!!! Voi conoscete questo libro? Avete già letto anche il seguito?

❤️🔥THE PRISON HEALER ❤️🔥 Questo libro è stata una scoperta. Una bellissima rivelazione che mi ha fatto pensare “ma perché non l’ho letto prima?”. The prison healer racconta la storia di Kiva, una giovane donna che vive nella terribile prigione di Zalindov, occupandosi dell’ infermeria. Portata lì insieme al padre quando aveva 7 anni, Kiva ha sempre conosciuto solamente ciò che c’era all’interno di quell’inferno fatto in terra. La sua vita e la sua routine cambieranno totalmente quando arriveranno Jaren, un giovane prigioniero che farà ricredere Kiva sulla sua regola di non avere amici in prigione, e Tilda, colei che viene chiamata la regina ribelle, il capo della rivoluzione che sta colpendo il paese. Kiva verrà messa alla prova da questi due nuovi arrivi sia fisicamente che emotivamente, e la porteranno a ricredersi su gran parte delle convinzioni avute per tutta la vita. Questo libro è stato un viaggio incredibile, dalla prima all’ultima pagina sono sempre rimasta ammaliata dallo stile dell’autrice, semplice ma con descrizioni che mi facevano entrare all’interno della storia. Così come le ambientazioni, anche i personaggi sono stati caratterizzati magistralmente. Kiva è una ragazza diffidente, che fa entrare nella sua cerchia di amici poche persone. Può sembrare fredda e distaccata all’apparenza ma conoscendola più a fondo si scoprirà che ha un grande cuore e farebbe di tutto per chi ama (ma proprio di tutto.) Jaren invece è il suo opposto; solare, con il sorriso sempre in volto nonostante il luogo terribile dove vivono, cercherà sempre di trovare un modo per stare vicino a Kiva, per aiutarla e sostenerla in ogni momento. Nouvelle saga commencée durant ce long week-end de mai : The Prison Healer Premier tome dévoré en 3 jours et deuxième tome enchaîné dans la foulée. 📚 Avis Lecture : « The prison Healer : la princesse rebelle » (tome 2) ; @lynettenoni / @hachetteromans ! 📚 - - 💼 Mon Avis : Pour rappel , le tome 1 se passait exclusivement dans une prison ; c’était sympa mais pas de grosse surprise à mon goût … en revanche , ce tome m’a davantage convaincu ! C’est vrai , peu d’action …. On se concentre sur la dualité qui a lieu en Kiva : entre ses nouveaux amis royaux qui l’ont accueillie et la traite comme l’une des leurs , et sa famille fraîchement retrouvée , elle sait qu’un choix quant à à qui ira sa loyauté va se poser ! . D’un côté , après 10 ans emprisonnée à Zalindov , elle découvre qui sont son frère et sa sœur , à la tête des rebelles et leurs intentions quant à la famille royale etc … De l’autre , elle s’acclimate petit à petit à cette liberté au palais , à la possibilité d’étudier à l’académie de médecine , aux entraînements pour se défendre etc … elle découvre Jaren sous l’angle des responsabilités qui lui incombent en tant qu’héritier du trône / Caldon , bien que charmeur invétéré , brisé par la perte de ses parents / ….. + se fait une nouvelle amie : Rhessinda ! . À naviguer entre le goût de la liberté et la stabilité auprès des uns /// les doutes et l’envie de liens auprès des autres … sa conscience a la vie dure ! Bémol : Son manque de discernement face à Zuleeka , pourtant pas subtile . J’ai adoré Caldon , sa personnalité bienveillante et protectrice derrière le dragueur + la candeur du petit Tipp / la bonté de Torrell, tiraillé entre la cause rebelle et l’envie de paix ! . Heureusement , la fin rattrape le manque d’action de tout le tome , avec pas mal de rebondissements / la révélation de trahisons inattendues / une situation précaire qui décidera enfin Kiva sur son choix ! . .
