SWCP Westbay short wander around wave watching as they pound the cliff. The fairly recent cliff fall means a slight inland diversion through the golf course is now the new coast path route, and it is a shame, but needs must, with the continuous erosion along the path making it now too dangerous to walk the cliff. 🔉Sound on! 🔉 . What can only be described as an “orchestra of Skylarks” this morning, shouting & singing their little heads off in the sunshine! What a way to start the day, with a dog walk accompanied by this sound from start to finish. (I think they are as pleased as I am that it’s not raining for once…) . You may have noticed around the farm that we have lots of little uncropped squares in the fields, which are known as “skylark plots”. They are for skylarks to forage in and use as landing spots (I always think of them as the Harrier jump jets of the bird world) as well as being useful areas for sunbathing hares and other wildlife.
