It was such a lovely day to enjoy the beautiful blooms that are emerging, now that it's warmer and sunnier! And of course, the sun kissed, honey-coloured Cotswold stone 🌿🏠🌺 We've been working hard in the garden, and it's starting to get some nice colour, now we've planted up our summer pots and the roses are coming out at last! On Sunday I was invited as part of the @your_bathcity team to attend the Rare Plant Fair at the American Museum in Bath. It was a glorious sunny day and such a lovely way to spend a few hours. What a stunning place to hold the event. It was definitely very popular and not surprising with the vibrant colours of the plants for sale. It was great to wander round the stalls listening to the stall holders selling their plants and offering expert gardening tips. The most beautiful of mornings at home 🐾🌿 After a 22 hour flight back to England, I woke up on morning one and headed out with Baxter and my camera. In just two weeks the entire English countryside has transformed into this bloom of beauty! The grass is high, the cow parsley is out, the birds are tweeting and much to Baxter’s excitement, it’s swimming weather again! These moments at home, they’re everything to me. The only way I can describe these walks is pure joy and amazement. I’ve been living in the countryside again for 3 and a half years almost and I never tire of it. I take this walk every day when I’m home and yet my camera roll is still filled with videos, because every day it changes, every day I notice something different. I never want to take it for granted 🦋 Really looking forward to another week at home, taking Baxter on local walks. Saturday Shaftesbury ..... I've wanted for a long time to visit Gold Hill in Shaftesbury. How many of you can actually remember the Hovis advert? Gold Hill is the main setting for the 1973 "Boy on Bike" television advertisement for Hovis bread, which has been voted Britain's favourite advertisement of all time. It has been used as a setting for film and television and appears in the 1967 film version of Thomas Hardy's Far from the Madding Crowd. I have to say it was wonderful to stand up the top and admire the view, but I have to confess I was a little surprised how short the hill was, but it doesn't take away from the nostalgia. And if you want to buy a cottage here on Gold Hill then that cute pink cottage is on the market! It could be yours for just under £500K. I couldn't resist adding in the music of the Hovis advert for a bit of nostalgia. And talking of properties on the market I can't wait to show you tomorrow's post.
