Beautiful bluebells Every year, I say I'm going out to photograph them, but they I get sidetracked, and they go so quickly. After my visit to Corfe Castie yesterday, I went to another of my favourite locations in Dorset - Crawford Bridge in Spetisbury, I was hoping for a golden lit bridge and swans and was duly rewarded. It might be a killer to get up for sunrise this time of year but it’s equally wonderful. To be able to fit in two locations, be out for fours hours with hardly another human in sight and still get home long before the rest of the family are awake, is absolutely brilliant. Here comes the sun (...dials!!!) • 📍The Cotswolds • Well, in the hope of conjuring up more of the lovely sun-soaked days that we’re currently enjoying, as the mayflies hatch and the swallows swoop here in The Wye Valley, here is a selection from the archive of some of the wonderful sundials that I’ve come across round and about. What a beautiful start to a glorious day! I wasn’t planning on going to Corfe Castle this morning, my original destination was Old Harry Rocks. But when I saw the skies were pretty clear and seeing the mist forming all around Corfe, I had a change of heart. For Church Sunday this week we have the old Chelwood Church. This Grade II Listed St Leonard's church and churchyard, which was built in 1850 has been closed since March 2020. It has been deconsecrated and is now on the market for £75K. Would you live in a former church and churchyard? I have to say it wouldn't be for me. Chelwood is a small quaint village in the Chew Valley area of Somerset. Chelwood is one of the nine Thankful Villages in Somerset where all the men returned from the First World War; four went and four returned. Also here are a few of the other houses in the village. How lovely and unusual is the last property. I love the shape and how wonderful to see the wisteria in flower.
