This picture reminds me of sunshine coming through the clouds finally at the end of a dark week. Kindergarten was tough. It is so hard for parents to admit that they did wrong by their kids. My love for you is stronger than my pride. This season of life we were in was so hard. Your father was struggling with his disease, we moved out of your childhood home, we lived far away from our whole support system that we knew. You were violated and it broke me. You may have felt that no one was protecting you. You may have felt replaced. I was trying to fit into a mold that wasn't made for us. You struggled hard with changes. I thought I was doing what was best for you by giving you a family, taking you on vacations, giving you big Christmases. I thought I was giving you the life I didn't have growing up. But I ended up doing what I promised I would never do. That was put a significant other first. I was tired of being alone. But I was never alone, I had you. I am so sorry for what we went through. Im sorry I forced a relationship with someone on you that you never liked from the begining. Someone who never treated your fairly or with kindness. I didn't realize I was repeating patterns and going against everything I originally stood for and promised for you when you were born. I started realizing that my choices and decision making was being ripped away from me and I wasn't able to raise you how I originally planned on. I was done letting someone control how I parented and disciplined. I promise I will never let anyone come between us again. My biggest wish is for you to be happy. My biggest worry is that you feel loneliness, or to feel like there is no way out of struggle in this life. Please remember , who you are will always be enough. Who you are is kind, gentle, good, bright, and resilient. May you always see the good in you, the good in life, the good in others, no matter what life throws at you.
