Fibroid Friday Updates/Findings‼️ Well this week started with a Lightheaded/Overheated/Dehydration Spell 😳😩 Went to work Monday normal & left in an Ambulance. So while at the hospital of course they start running tests etc. Finding: Free Fluid around my liver from a cyst rupture 😑😑 Me yet again sitting in this hospital confused & annoyed, because baybeeee who can go thru this all summer long‼️ Call doctor & she says oh yes this normal after a D&C procedure (which I had May 3rd) & we will continue monitoring it. Yall these bad boys are giving me a run for my money, but I’m still THRIVING🥰 I do notice I’m always exhausted, always cramping, always having pain, & always bleeding. But I continue pushing forward, because FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD‼️ I’m working in this thing here. I’m not playing. Keep being informed. 3rd Egg Retrieval was successful! 13 Eggs Retrieved 7 Fertilized 3 made it to Blastocyst 1 Tested Genetically Normal! This means we have 2 embryos frozen in the bank. We’re still trying to figure out if I can carry a pregnancy at all (my fibroids have returned unfortunately) and we are beginning to pursue surrogacy options. Here’s a part of my testimony! 30 days ago (April 29th, 2024), I had an Open Myomectomy Surgery. Ladies if you are diagnosed with Fibroids, please do your research early, in order to prevent growth, and to know your options sooner. I was told during PreOp, that the surgery would take about 2 1/2 hours long to remove 3 large Fibroid tumors. My surgery ended up being 5 hours long, with all 11 Fibroids removed! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 My surgeon didn’t know it was that many until they went in to remove the 3. Literally, God was with me the entire time. Ladies it’s important for us to take care of ourselves! I think I will do a live or something to go into the details. When I say that I am so grateful to be here, I truly am. This recovery ❤️🩹 has been challenging, however it is worth the results knowing that I no longer have to suffer like I did before. What I will say, is that it’s important to have support before and during recovery. It’s important to have a praying support team, who will pray the word of God, and not Fear. In addition, it’s important to have a team that will encourage you through the challenging moments, help you to celebrate small wins, and to let you be vulnerable and unashamed because you need that type of care. On my 30th day Post Op I am so grateful to be recovering ❤️🩹 well. I’m glad that I can walk further than expected, and that I am healing really good. 🌿 Heavy personal post 🌿 Today marks 2 years since my Hysterectomy surgery. I share this because you most likely have a friend that suffers some kind of Endometriosis. It’s actually more common than you think. Think it’s kinda silly that we don’t talk about it more openly. Probably the toughest, darkest and most painful time of my life. I self medicated myself (numbed myself) in so many unhealthy ways. Couldn’t tell ya how many times I thought about ending my life because I was in so much pain physically and emotionally. I remember when I was bleeding so much, while I was working on the sauté station during a busy dinner service, I had to have my boss drive me to the ER and then I later had an emergency blood transfusion. Not only was this time in my life physically painful, the thought of not being able to birth a child dwelled on me. Though I never really thought of giving birth, the option of it being taken away was confusing and heartbreaking. I thought maybe I’d be less desirable to be with or something. Also being told “ I didn’t see you as a mom anyways…” was soul crushing. Unfortunately there isn’t enough funding that goes into the research of Endometriosis/Uterine Fibroids/WOMEN. I felt like for many years leading up to the surgery, I was being gaslit by doctors until it was too late to make any other decision but the most drastic one. Though the surgery was one of the toughest decisions I had to make at 31 years old, I don’t regret it one bit. I’m no longer in any pain and I’ve accepted that if I’m going to be a mom it’ll come in different forms (🐶❤️). Also! I don’t ever have to buy tampons/pads or have periods and cramps ever again 🙌🏽 I think the biggest take aways from this was that I really learned how to really be my own best advocate. Really grateful for the support of all of my friends and family and for those who donated to my GoFundMe at the time. I’ll never forget the love I received during that time. You all truly made it worth living another day. Anyways, if you made it this far, thanks for reading. Hey everyone! It’s been a while… 🫣I have had some health issues unrelated to my gastric sleeve. My hormones are completely thrown off 🫠 I have officially regained 40lbs and man does it suck. I am still restricted but I will say I crave sugar. As of right now I am looking to have another surgery in June unless it’s rescheduled again to have this massive fibroid and a cyst removed from my uterus. Uterine fibroids are relatively common in reproductive-age women and are directly linked to pregnancy. There are many debates about performing a myomectomy at the same time as a caesarian section (CS) in such cases due to the risk of a hemorrhage. The main effect of pregnancy on fibroids is related to the size of the uterine fibroids. A large fibroid can be problematic because it contains vessels, which can take over the blood needed for the vascularization of the uterus and fetal development. However, during the scanning both images were of different patients 1st ultrasound image was taken on 32 weeks of pregnancy with a fibroid. 2nd ultrasound image was taken on 11 weeks of pregnancy with a fibroid.
