We enjoyed an incredible dinner at Citricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa yesterday evening. Citricos was recently reimagined and is absolutely stunning with a subtle ode to Mary Poppins and features Florida cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. I ordered the Sustainable Fish which was a Golden Tilefish and my husband ordered the Guava Barbecued Short Ribs. Both were excellent! We agreed that it was one of the best meals we’ve had on Disney property or anywhere! 🍰🍨Red Velvet Tres Leches Parfait🍨🍰 Yay!! First post for Pixar Fest had to be this delicious parfait from Paradise Garden Grill inside DCA. This treat was topped off with churro crunch, pink cinnamon mousse, green pearls, orange mousse, and a chocolate skull. This one was worth a try, and was probably our favorite of all the food we tried from this festival. Day 32 pt. 2: Disney day continued Jorge was suuuper sneaky putting in a special request with our waiter, we figured he was just being funny making sure me & Jess got a second round of drinks. When he brought out our second round he noticed Robin on the table and began whistling the opening tune, Robin had fun dancing along. At this point he also asked if we liked tiramasu, which of course we did A. because of the joke in Beetlejuice and B. it's just delicious. I figured it was in way of applogy for having to deal with a broken glass right next to our table and also my pork chop being under cooked (the second one pictured was perfection). But no, it was because when Jorge was being suuuper sneaky with the waiter he told him Brian&Jess were recently married about brought them a little Congratulations dessert. ❤❤ On the way out of Carthay i had to check out the Archives display, which was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The underwater shot set-up was super cool. Then we took a loop back through the Backlot to Avengers campus, and then on to the Pier. Jess knew of a place to watch World of Color outside of the reserve sections and we made it with just a few minutes to spare. Couldnt really see the projections, but we could hear the music and it was a neat perspective for the fountains. Then we slowly shuffled out of the park, parted ways with our HS friends, saw Linda on my way out of the park so i had to attack her with a hug. Then it was onto the shuttle and back to our hotel. Day 32 pt 1: Celebration for a job well done To celebrate finishing this leg of the tour we spent another day at Disney before going our separate ways. Met Brian&Jess plus a couple of old HS friends at the Magic Key Terrace for early lunch. The short rib was amaaazballs! The boozy mint julip was also tastey and refreshing. Then we meandered through Cars Land on the way to the Avengers campus. And i got the #1 merch item i was looking for, the Pizza Port Truck popcorn 'bucket', which was pretty perfectly sized for Robin (better than Guinevere anyway) Spiderman had a relatively short line, so we got a beverage and jumped in the queue. As we got out of the ride it was nearly perfect timing for the Spiderman 'show', so we pulled up to peice of fencing and settled in. Once that show was finished it was almost time for the Doctor's show, so we went over to wait for that one too. Waiting for his show was a lot of direct sunlight and Jess did her best to hide from it in Brian's shadow. Then it was time for the Club Pixar to begin. We all hoped it would be a little more Mad T Party like, but it was cute. The dance troupe performed, and then when they came out the next time they taught a dance to the kids gathered at the stage. Cocktails were lovely. And Jess got her tattoo painted in again by a rad face painter. After hanging out there for a while and meeting up with another batch of friends who were at the park it was time to head off to dinner. Carthay is always a must, but we haven't been in the actual restaurant in a while. We all loved it, and the kids loved that they could get pizza and hotdogs too (a kids meal is decent value and comes with a delicious cookie). A special mention to the bread and butter pudding which was more like a banana bread but still really good. We don't book table service or do meal plans as we like the freedom of just eating what we feel like, every time we have come here it has been quiet especially if you sit upstairs and on a nice day you've got the perfect view of the balloon going up and down. This is the new ✨flavor of the month✨ at the gelato cart in Hollywood Studios (it’s tucked away on Grand Avenue in Muppets Courtyard)! Oh, and FYI, they still have their POG flavor on the menu, too 🤤 This one is a great combo of sweet-tart pear, a hint of cranberry, and some vanilla-caramel flavors all wrapped up together. It’s complex, but sooo good! These scoops aren’t cheap, though. One scoop is $7.50 while two will set you back $9.75. But we always like to try the new flavors of the month because they’re so interesting! And this one was worth it 🤩.
