Richard and I enjoyed a nice lunch at one of our go-to places at Disney, Ale & Compass Restaurant at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. I got the Vermont Cheddar Bacon Burger(one of my top three burgers on Disney property 😊🍔) and Richard got a Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. I still can’t fathom how he can eat hot soup when it is about 95° out today, but to each their own. lol. My burger and fries did not disappoint! Be forewarned, however, that this is a very messy burger to eat! I ended up using a knife and fork to conquer it. Let's talk BREAKFAST in Disney World! When I'm not on vacation, I'm not normally a breakfast person. But funnily enough, my favorite meals in Disney are actually breakfast dishes! What are some of your favorites? I listed mine below! 🍳 #1 favorite: Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, pictures 1 and 2. The carving station with the ham and Boma mustard, and the coconut oatmeal are the two standouts for me! Plus, unlimited POG Juice! This is a tradition for us every trip! We like to explore the resort and visit the animals on the Savanna after our meal as well. 🍳 #2 favorite: Kona Café at the Polynesian, picture 3. The pineapple macadamia nut pancakes are famous for a reason! The crunch of the nuts mixed with the sweetness of the pineapple is heavenly! Plus, the vibe and atmosphere of the Poly make it one of my favorite resorts to visit. 🍳 #3 favorite: Ale & Compass at the Yacht Club, pictures 4-7. This is a great deal, and the food is fantastic! There's an option on the menu for your choice of an entree, plus the enhancement buffet (fruit, yogurt, biscuits & gravy, etc.). The Breakfast Flatbread is my absolute favorite, and the biscuits & gravy from the buffet are a great addition. Happy Cinco de Mayo! I celebrated a day early with an incredible watermelon margarita at Yachtsman Steakhouse, a signature dining restaurant at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. My daughters have been asking to go back since we dined there over Thanksgiving Break with family. I mixed my butter with roasted garlic to make a delicious spread for my @bloomfieldfarms gluten free rolls. My husband and I shared a strip steak with a side of fries. The peppercorn sauce it was served with was so good! We also shared sides of truffle fries and mashed potatoes with our daughters. We enjoyed our meal but were disappointed in the change to the Yachtsman signature chocolate cake, which is no longer gluten free and no longer presented like a lighhouse. My daughters ate the new version and said it was not as good as the previous version that was safe for me to eat. If you still want chocolate cake, you can mobile order the 12 layer chocolate cake from Ale & Compass next door.

Disney’s yacht club is such a beautiful and peaceful resort. Conveniently located because you can walk to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. There’s also boat service to both of those parks. And you can walk to one of the Skyliner stations. I love the restaurants at this resort and that it is beside boardwalk with its fun nightlife, shopping, and even more restaurants. Because this is a deluxe resort, you also get the extended evening hours a couple of times a week at certain parks. They'll start by spending a few days at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village before moving over to Disney's Yacht Club for another five days. They'll be able to watch the animals on the savanna at AKL. At Yacht Club they'll take advantage of the best pool on property, Stormalong Bay!
