🚶♂️ Adventure Day 10 / Camino Day 1 - Baby Steps are Still Steps, Right? 🚶🏽♀️ Last night we arrived late in Porto, so today was our chance to catch up on the tourist must-dos. After a lengthy morning repacking our bags and reorganizing Gloria (our trusty stroller) for the Camino, we were off to explore. 🗺️ Bryce couldn’t resist a stop for his daily pastry fix before we took a quick look at the stunning Igreja do Carmo. Next on our agenda was the main event—the Livraria Lello. For fellow Harry Potter fans, this bookstore is rumored to have inspired J.K. Rowling with its enchanting spiral staircase and breathtaking architecture. The bookstore certainly didn’t disappoint, and we walked away with some beautiful classics, though not as many as we’d have liked. Packing light sure does affect souvenir shopping! 📚 Then, it was on to the Porto Cathedral to officially start our Camino de Santiago Portuguese Coastal route. About two minutes into the Camino came our first major obstacle—stairs, and lots of them. A kind soul, in town for a conference, assisted us with some of the climb, but the stairs seemed never-ending. With our late afternoon start on the Camino, we managed only about five miles before calling it a day. Five miles down, about 170 to go! Pro travel tip: Opt for gold tickets at Livraria Lello for minimal wait time. These tickets allow you to choose from a selection of books and apply the full price of your ticket towards your purchase. Silver ticket holders receive an €8 discount on any book. 💃🏽Best night out at Broken Spoke 💃🏽 @brokenspokeaustintx We had such a fun night out at Broken Spoke which is a fun Texan dance hall. They had an absolutely amazing live band and we learnt to dance the Texas Two-step! I loved that the girls were welcome and people even wanted to dance with them and teach them moves! I was overwhelmed with how welcome children are everywhere in Texas. Before going to Broken Spoke, we enjoyed a dinner of Texan BBQ at @coopersbbqatx & honestly it was so good and so affordable, it makes me want to jump on a plane for another dinner there! We also got Penny this amazing unicorn birthday cake at @heb for so cheap! & it tasted amazing! Penny couldn’t have had a more Texan birthday!!! 🎉💃🏽 . . . .

We spent the afternoon at @vistabrewing in Driftwood, TX with the bride and groom and meeting the wedding guests! It was so lovely to see Audrey and meet her groom after hearing so much about him!
