You’ve heard about hidden Mickeys, but what about hidden Pizza Planet trucks? The Pizza Planet truck is an Easter egg featured in almost every Pixar film. As part of Pixar Fest, there are 50 Pizza Planet trucks hidden throughout Disneyland Resort - many of them themed to where they are hidden. ✨Today marks my last day as an active planDisney panelist for 2023, as I hang up my ears and allow the great team lined up for 2024 to share their magic. It was a true honor and privilege to answer just over 600 guest questions - 278,185 total written words of empathy, encouragement, excitement, and experience to help others make the most of their Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line vacations. Seeing my class or my family featured in official Disney content will always be a “pinch me” moment, and I treasure these fun ways to share insights with guests. I’m forever grateful to Team Disney for believing in me after eight years of applications, giving me the special opportunity to fulfill a dream, and trusting my advice for their guests. I loved connecting with alumni who I’ve admired online and now call teammates and friends. Our Class of ‘23 created a family through this shared experience, and we saw each other through so much our freshman year. I learned something every week from this incredible panelist team and I was energized by researching unique topics. The active panelist role is temporary, but the experience, bonds, mutual understanding, and planDisney community are forever. I leaned in and made the most of this year, but I couldn’t have done it without my two guys at home. Christmas mode activated! ✅ I was thrilled to meet the dynamic duo at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party earlier this month. While I had heard great things about this meet-and-greet, I wasn’t interested in spending hours waiting in line. Online advice often suggests grabbing party wristbands and heading directly to Town Square Theater to be among the first for Jack and Sally. Although party tickets allow entry at 4 pm, character meets and other entertainment don’t officially start until 7. There’s a chance of earlier experiences (like my 6:40 pm holiday ride on Space Mountain), but it’s not guaranteed. I prefer soaking in the park atmosphere and enjoying my favorite attractions rather than standing in line for 2+ hours. My strategy paid off. I enjoyed specialty food, a dance party, attractions, and even the first parade before reaching Town Square Theatre at 9:40 pm- just before the evening fireworks. While Mickey’s line was still going strong, I found myself the only person waiting for Jack and Sally in the theater’s main lobby. A minute later, I was ushered into the greeting area with only two parties ahead, immersing myself in their macabre Christmas scene. Experiencing this interaction made me realize why guests are willing to wait. Jack and Sally were incredible—asking pointed questions, showcasing their handiwork, and engaging in a delightfuly spooky festive conversation. It was a truly enjoyable encounter that was simply meant to be. Literally the entire attraction will have you swaying to the rhythm of the Swisskapolka. It is stunningly beautiful at night and contains many hidden Easter Eggs for the curious to find. So many fun memories at my first ever planDisney reunion! The class of 2023 came to have fun and make memories. I think this was one of the best trips ever. 1. Friends from the first day of training. #lyfties @littlemerman23 @kmpletch . My favorite golden retriever friend Al had to shine too! 2. We saved the Galaxy! 3. Figment with the northeast NY/NJ squad. @jerms7710 Boy, we waited ON that line forever. 🤪 #ifykyk 4. Special planDisney hosted animation experience. I did panic as always. The animator is just so fast. 5. The fabulous @bonvoyagewkids and I on Kilimanjaro Safaris. She didn’t complain when I kept sliding into her because she is full of grace. 6. First meal of the trip at Steakhouse 71. Great meal with fabulous new and old friends who welcomed my family! @mcky_mom @aamsdis 7. @drmelandmrpickles should be a ride model as the rest of my family is frozen in fear, looking the wrong way or having a demon exorcised out of them. 8. I learned what a pontoon was. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Watched the fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park and the Electrical Water Pageant on the water and it is the best. 9. @prince.tagram created a class of 2023 scavenger hunt/challenge. 30 years ago this past July, my mom took a friend and I to see a Halloween movie called “Hocus Pocus.” We were legit the only ones in the theater and since it was initially a flop, I would assume most other theaters playing it were similarly empty. I remember watching the making of special multiple times on the Disney channel leading up to it, begging my mom to go, and having to convince my friend to go see it because he thought it was “a girl movie.” I remember my mom’s contagious laughter thoughout and watching it every Halloween season after. Today, over thirty years later, my husband and I take part in the D23 Black Flame Ball event in Salem. We have the 1692 Witch Museum, lunch, a tour of the sights, and the ball itself later tonight. While our costumes are pretty minimal and it’s supposed to rain all day, I’m hoping for smiles and laughter and a day full of magic…possibly black magic. If you hear laughter today, I hope it’s an echo of ours. Best of the fest 🏆 Greece, Hawaii, and Flavors from Fire all get my vote for top 3 Global Marketplaces at the 2023 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is delicious on the Greece menu, but the Griddled Cheese (a returning favorite) is not to be missed. You’ll get a Emille’s Fromage Montage stamp for it too! At Hawaii, the SPAM Sushi is my personal favorite food item of the entire festival. 🍣 Salty, creamy, chewy- DELICIOUS. Flavors from Fire takes the last spot on the podium for the delicious Smoked Corned Beef (also a Fromage Montage item) as well as the Chimichurri Marinated Skirt Steak Taco. This one might have a bit of a wait as the meat is grilled fresh all day just outside the booth- truly a flavor direct from fire. YUM!
