Then the Disney bug hit me…hard. So when he asked what I wanted for Mother’s Day, I jokingly said ‘I wanna experience Disney with you and no kids.’ His response of ‘ok, let’s do it!’ took me by complete surprise! 😮 I love him more and more every day. We are nearly 18 years strong! We have our bumps but always come out stronger than before. As parents, we often get lost being Mom and Dad. It is SO important for parents to have time together without kids. For their sanity and for the kids. Parent burn out is a real thing. Your kids need parents that aren’t functioning on a half empty cup. 🥃 We are more than just Mom and Dad. It helps us not only be better parents but a better partner to one another. And for those that say ‘well you had kids, you made that choice’, go pound sand. Y’all can take that nonsense somewhere else. Our mental health is as important as anyone else’s. Lastly, HUGE shoutout to the best Disney travel agent there is!!! @travel2themouse !! She goes above and beyond for her clients! She brings up details that never crossed my mind! Yesterday we talked about the Chicken on The Egg at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar at Disney Springs....today...let's just talk about the whole place itself! It would not be a complete vacation with at least one stop at this bar. No reservations are necessary - just walk on in and pick your seat. Morimoto Asia- This place is a favorite- a go-to for my family. The atmosphere is gorgeous...look at those lights! The waitstaff is attentive, knowledgeable, and delightful to interact with. At no point in our visit did we feel rushed- the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. On our last visit, we started with the MM Smash Cocktail 🍹a Kirin on draft and the zero-proof Blushing Dragon. The drink menu is extensive and on every visit you can try something new. One of my favorites is to have a sake flight or a seasonal cocktail. Then onto dinner.... my daughter started with a miso soup that was knock your socks off. I took a sip and wished I had ordered my own (or had the recipe 😋), next was steamed veggie dumplings that melted in your mouth. Finally, she had a salmon roll (she has never had a better one in her life) and I had veggie maki (veggies crisp and delightful). Unfortunately at this point, we could not eat another bite. The desserts look amazing!!! I think we need to plan a visit for cocktails and dessert for sure. I highly recommend a visit to Morimoto Asia- or if you want a quick bite- the Morimoto Street Food stand. I sometimes grab a Morimoto One Cup to enjoy back in the room. Terralina Crafted Italian at Disney Springs- We decided to eat here for our night before the marathon meal- give us pasta! We were seated out on the deck- not a bad view- a bit windy and cool but we can handle that.... The meal was a B, it was okay. We started off with bruschetta- which was good- very fresh tasting- the toast was quite toasted and super crunchy. For the meals we had a Margherita pizza, Chicken Parmesan, Spaghetti Pomodoro. We did not feel it was anything special- my daughter even said she would prefer to go to Mama Melrose over this restaurant. Everything was good- it just was not exceptional- which is what I was hoping for- and the vegetarian options are quite limited. Will I book here again? tip! Did you know there are massage chairs in the arcade at the hotel? We were escaping the rain on the way back to our room on our last trip and we walked through and discovered these babies! We had just finished the 1/2 (ish ....iykyk) marathon and boy did a massage chair sound like heaven. For $10.00 we enjoyed 25 minutes of bliss...our body thanked us! Unpopular Opinion! Woody's Roundup BBQ is one of the worst meals I have eaten on Walt Disney World property. This meal is served family style and the atmosphere is loud and quite chaotic. The BBQ is bland - and most of the food sounds interesting but is unappetizing. One bite of each and I was done. We tried both the plant based and regular meat options. The BBQ sauces tasted like each one had the same base but vinegar was added to one and hot sauce to another to make them "different". The final kicker to the night was they served my daughter an item that contained the allergen my daughter cannot consume- luckily the server noticed - but it still came to the table and it had the allergy pick in it. Management was highly concerned and helpful but it made us just want to leave right then. This was an overall bad experience for us. I am disappointed because I was looking forward to this meal. The details in the Valley of the Mo'ara in Disney's Animal Kingdom transports you to the magical World of Pandora. My favorite way to enter this land is from the backside- go past the Dawa Bar in Africa- past The Festival of the Lion King- and over the bridge. While wandering around and enjoying the unique landscaping make sure you do not miss some of my favorites- ✨Flight of Passage - Take a ride on a banshee! This is one of my favorite rides in the Disney Parks. ✨Satu'li Canteen - Get the cheeseburger pods!!! (yup, and so continues my obsession with steamed buns) ✨ Pongu Pongu - Enjoy a Night Blossom or it's alcoholic cousin the Rum Blossom...or the Mo'ara Margarita. These are both tasty popping boba topped slushy drinks. I LOVE these drinks! One might say I am a connoisseur of bathrooms- I usually take a tour of most (if not all) of the bathrooms when I visit a park- what can I say- I drink a lot of beverages. Luckily, Disney Parks has so many bathrooms- you are not far away from one. If you cannot easily find one- just ask a cast member. Details! The Moroccan Pavillion in EPCOT. If you have never taken the time to wander around this pavilion, I highly recommend you do. Take a roam through and you will find many quiet areas to take a break from the crowds and high energy of the World Showcase. King Hassan II sent Moroccan artisans to design and create the many mosaics. The government also sponsors the pavilion, while corporations sponsor the rights on every other pavilion.
