Blue Bayou 📍Disneyland, CA 3/5 ⭐️ ($30-$60 per item) Once in a blue moon I am willing to splurge on a fancier meal at Disneyland. The Blue Bayou is so aesthetically pleasing on the inside. The restaurant is within the ride Pirates of the Caribbean. We luckily got the view of the water and got to see many families go through the ride which was a unique experience and so cool. Onto the food - I ordered a filet mignon with lump crab on top ($58) and requested it medium rare - it definitely was more medium to well done and so difficult to chew. Also for the portion size received I was not the biggest fan. The ratio between steak and lump crab kinda sucked. The potatoes were delicious though. Austin ended up ordering a special menu item that came with a blackened rib eye steak, shrimp, and gumbo fries ($98 with dessert and an appetizer). His was so much better in terms of portions and cook. I’d say if there are special menu items to order that instead as they seemed to prioritize the quality on those dishes. For dessert I got a crème brûlée tarte ($13) which I enjoyed but also not worth the price tag lol. Austin’s desert was part of his special order - it was some Mardi Gras cheesecake with cherry. He liked it though! Overall - it was decent! I think people come here for the view and if that’s the case maybe order a few appetizers rather than the entrees. Lamplight Lounge 📍California Adventure 4/5 ⭐️ ($15-50 per person) When Austin and I had our Disneyland passes we would always go here! The drinks are strong and worth the Disney pricing. My personal favorite is off the secret menu and is called Fun Wheel - a vodka, gin, and light rum mixture. The lobster nachos are a classic and so good. I feel like it’s really hard for me to find nachos I enjoy vs making them at home but these ones are consistently good. We also tried the ginger pork belly slider which is no longer on the menu. New on their drink menu are Dole Whip shots! This was pretty good too. It tasted like melted dole whip with a hint of rum. Overall a good time when sitting on the deck with views of Incredicoaster and water.
