I want to walk my daughter down the aisle. I want to play with my grandkids. I want to drink a margarita with my sons, have them come home for Christmas, and grow old with my wife. I want all of it. And it starts now. There’s a famous Chinese proverb: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.” It’s easy to feel overwhelmed or like we’re behind the 8-ball here (it’s like those “invest early” infographics with Smart Sally & Dumb Dan where Sally started investing in a Roth IRA in the womb and now she’s a gagillionare and Dan lives in a box on the street - or something like that). But the only thing to do is to get started. Today. Not Monday. Not after Memorial Day. Right freaking now. Go walk. Eat a salad. Hit the gym. Just do something. Anything. It doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, it won’t be. But imperfect action trumps perfect inaction 100% of the time. So let’s get moving. So I’m currently able to do 10-12 pull-ups very easily and without any assistance, and I’ve not been able to do this in years. It’s been really cool and motivating to see the progress in pull ups, especially after starting out using three bands for assistance and then eventually down to two bands and then one band and then eventually down to no bands needed. I have recently increased my pull-up game over the last couple weeks. I have a pull-up bar in the bathroom and every time I go to my closet or to the bathroom, I grab it and do a few pull-ups and that is on top of my regular weekly routine of pull-ups that are incorporated into my weekly regimen. #MyJourney #ProActive #EatToLive #WalkingForLife #ResistanceTraining #CaloricDeficit #PullUps #PullUpGame

Today marks a half year in the books since starting #myjourney @ 265lbs, So after 26 weeks and reaching my initial goal a couple days ago, I’m sitting at 208.8lbs at an average of 2.16lbs of fat loss per week. Let it be known, I’ve officially reached my initial goal of 210lbs @ 209.7lbs as of this morning and within a half year at 25.5 weeks. I made some changes over the weekend like I intended and those changes got the scales moving again. This morning I woke up at 5AM and Peed and weighed at 210.6lbs. At that point I was considering lifting weights and walking on the treadmill, but I told myself I needed to go back to sleep since it’s raining and try to burn more calories. I told the kids goodbye as they went to school and I even told Lucas what I weighed and that I was determined to reach my goal this week. So I laid back in bed and made myself go back to sleep and woke up two hours later (after being fasted for 16 hours total as usual) then peed and weighed at 209.7lbs after 7.5hrs of sleep. After 25.5 weeks I finally broke 210 reaching 209.7lbs. That is a 55.3lb fat loss at an average of 2.17lbs per week. I haven’t been this weight since my early 20s. And it’s so exciting to see muscles and lines that I haven’t seen in decades. Being able to see the outline of my abdominal muscles and obliques really gets me excited and pumped and motivated as well. It’s also really awesome to be able to wear a medium shirt just like this Nashville Soccer jersey that I’m wearing in size medium. And Soccer jerseys do not lie 😂 It is now time for me to reevaluate and readjust once again. My next goal now is to get as ripped as possible in order to see muscle fibers and chiseled abs. so with that said I am making my next goal official and I now have my eyes set on 190lbs as my next target. It is now time to lose 20 more pounds of fat. New Goal 🎯190lbs🎯 LETS GO!!! Overton Primary School is taking part in Walk to School Week from the 20th to 24th May. This event is designed to help pupils experience first-hand the importance of walking to school. Each pupil will be challenged to travel sustainably (walk, wheel, scoot, cycle or Park and Stride) to school every day for one week using the classroom wallchart to log their journeys. Each class will work collectively to make as many active journeys to school as possible across the week. In return, the children will earn a certificate. The importance of sleep and burning fat… So yesterday as usual I did about two hours of resistance training and starting at 9am I ate about every hour until about 5 o’clock and I consumed about 2300 cal and 200 g of protein and got in over 20,000 steps. I went to sleep last night weighing about 213.1lbs. After sleeping about 5 hours like I usually do, I had to force myself to go back to sleep because I was so determined to burn more fat. So I went back to sleep and woke up weighing 2.5lbs less. Progress Pic & Update; I’ve lost an approximate 220 pounds so far. Losing the first 100 pounds was fast, losing the second 70-80 pounds took a bit longer and losing the most recent 20-25 pounds has been tough. As my muscle to fat ratio improves, the scale doesn’t move as fast anymore, so the weight loss can feel tough; this is why I use a tape measure as well. 52.6lb total fat loss After 23 weeks from 265lbs when I started this journey and now down to 212.4lbs at 5’10”. l’m currently eating about 2200calories within an 8hr period every day and about 175-200g of protein and 120oz of water and lifting 5 days a week. And getting roughly 15k-20k steps per day for the last 8 weeks. This puts me at a total fat loss of 52.6lbs for a 2.29lbs per week average loss while building and maintaining muscle mass. On Friday 22nd March a group of Library volunteers led a walk from Hednesford Community Library across Cannock Chase, braving mud, floods and closed bridges, up to the Castle Ring Hillfort, returning to the library later that day for refreshments provided by the volunteer team who run the library. My weight this morning 217.6lbs, and now closer than ever to reaching my initial goal of 210lbs. So...yesterday marked exactly 28 days or (4 weeks) since implementing walking 15k + steps per day while eating around 2200cal per day and resistance training mon-fri and 16/8 fasting Here are the numbers the day after one month of me implementing 15k+ steps daily. So this morning I hit my lowest weight so far, and tomorrow marks one month of walking 15,000 steps per day while consuming around 2200 cal per day. The steps have helped me create even more of a caloric deficit than my diet does, which has aided tremendously in fat loss. One month ago when I started walking daily I was 225.3lbs so I’ve lost 5.7lbs of bodyfat in four weeks just by walking while in a caloric deficit. This is a great average when trying to maintain muscle mass. The easiest fat, I’ve ever lost. NO EXCUSES it's 2°C degrees, and it's bedtime. I feel rough. My exercise game has been poor in favour of studying in my spare time for my new job where I have a MSc to complete. It's not that I couldn't have found time, but it would be difficult. It is human nature to take the easy route, to not move, to stay in in the warm. Well my body has had enough. I don't do well when I haven't moved enough, I have dodgy joints that are weak and I am very injury prone. Movement is the key to keeping on top of that. So tonight, full of dinner and feeling bloated AF, at 9.30pm, I walked for an hour. I'm now home, cold, and feeling amazing. As part of the launch of the "Walking for Life" project, we walked in one of the most wonderful places that the soul and spirit can imagine and the eyes can enjoy, which are the water mills of Tannourine. Walking through this wonderful place is a blessing, but being in the company of friends and loved ones is a blessing added to a blessing. We experienced the adventure of walking for life with our dear friend the expert in hiking and mountain climbing Jihad Younes.
