The same but different……(pics taken almost a year apart) I started this journey ONLY 11 weeks ago. A journey that I didn’t ever think that I’d have the drive and determination to stick to. I was constantly binging on unhealthy foods and drinking more fizzy drinks than I ever have before. Reaching for foods for convenience rather than for foods that were going to fuel my body properly. . . I initially started to lose a few lbs because I had got to the point in my life where I had decided to do a few things for me. I had signed up to be in a show with Oliver, but I looked unfit and I felt unfit. At that point I don’t actually think I realised how unfit and unhealthy I had become. I was getting migraines, I was out of breath after a few minutes dancing and I felt so heavy. A few rehearsals in and I KNEW I had to do something. . . I knew that I couldn’t do this on my own and I needed some advice and guidance, so I contacted @jayvenables and I can tell you now, I have never ever looked back! She is worth her absolute weight in gold. She’s been there every single step of the way, checking in, advising, personalising my plan, making changes to my plan when needed and just being flipping amazing! . . 11 weeks in and I’m 17lbs down, back in a size 10 and feeling fitter than ever! I haven’t binged once, I have felt full, I have been consistent and the confidence boost this has given me is completely priceless. I feel amazing! I will NEVER EVER look back now and I will never have enough words to thank @jayvenables for her invaluable guidance! . . This is just the beginning! I will continue to be the best and fittest version of myself that I can be and I will NEVER look back! Getting into bad habits? Finding it difficult to break some of those bad habits that have crept up on you? It’s often tempting to start eating and drinking more whilst exercising less but this isn’t about body shaming; it’s about trying to stay healthy but this isn’t easy, particularly with a busy schedule, but you can change make some changes if you try some of these: • First of all, identify what triggers those habits – what makes you stay up late, having a drink or three too many? Once you’ve tracked what and when you do that, you can start to change things. • Now create a better habit – this needs to replace your old routine so instead of chocolate and biscuits near at hand, put some fruit out. If you switch on the television the minute you get in, put your trainers on straight away and head out for a run or an exercise class. • If you download the Daylio journal app (there are two versions - free and premum) it will help you to track the habits you want to break – how? 🐾 FOSTER CARER NEEDED 🐾 Recently, we did a callout for a carer for Caribou. Thankfully, an angel took him in temporarily so that we can find a more long-term solution, but we really need that solution! 🙏 Caribou can be a tricky dog. He has canine compulsive disorder, which causes him to be very stressed and overwhelmed when he feels overstimulated. When this occurs, he engages in repetitive behavior such as spinning. He is currently being treated for his CCD and will require a carer prepared to continue his behavioral modification. It is important to note that he is improving; however, his improvement is entirely dependent on consistency, stability, and a fully committed, long-term carer. We know this is a big ask, but he is worth it! 💕 Caribou needs quite the unicorn home that has the following: 🏡🦄 • Quiet home, no busy/hectic environments. • Preferably Victoria. • Carer able to stick to a very consistent routine and be willing to follow the behavioral plan provided to you. • Ability to commit to long-term care or even better, foster to adopt. 🌟 • No kids • No cats • No dogs or ability to fully separate. • No apartments Caribou's current temporary carer has made some progress with him, but he still has a very long way to go.
