It's all about positive affirmations, making good on resolutions if you're into that sorta thing, making moves and plans for the upcoming year. My chosen word for this year is DISCIPLINE. Why? Because I'm gonna need every OUNCE of it to get everything on my plate accomplished. I also learned to listen to my thoughts and my body and taking downtime when I need to. Although I wanna accomplish a lot of things that honestly will make me uncomfortable, I learned a while back that it's not at the risk of ME. My 2024 focus word is βfine-tuneβ, the idea being that I make small adjustments throughout the year in order to improve my efficiency and effectiveness. Among a number of things I have implemented, I am clearing out my email inbox by unsubscribing whenever an irrelevant email comes through. What is your word of the year, and how do you intend to instill it in your life? My word of the year this year is ONWARD (yes, like that one #Disney movie). I struggled to pick a word this year because it feels like no matter what I do, I canβt seem to put my word of the year into practice. My word in 2020 was DOMINATE, and we all know how that year wentβ¦ So bad that I actually didnβt pick a word (that I can find record of) for 2021. I think all I was thinking was βPlease be nice to us 2021,β and not much else. In 2022, my word was PROLIFERATE and I attempted my #HoldMyMonster2022 cycle. I did not succeed at much that year honestly. 2023 was another soft attempt at a Hold My Monster year, but between work and switching jobs (twice!), my heart wasn't in it, and it didnβt happen. Thatβs why I finally settled on ONWARD as my word of the year for 2024. Rather than looking back at my failings, I want to look toward the future and see where it leads me. Iβm looking forward to new opportunities and new experiences. Iβm setting my publishing career in forward motion and settling into my current job after switching shifts again. With the new year upon us, I thought I would suggest something that really worked for me this past year. Instead of writing a New Year's resolution that will be forgotten about by February, take on the new year with a FOCUS WORD. I'm not one to blindly recommend this to you. Happy 2024! My Word of the Year is RISE! When I began considering what my word would be the only thing I knew is I didn't want to just survive 2024. With the way last year went I didnβt even realize we had chosen a word until looking through some notes the other day. β β β β β β β β β The word for last year was consistency. What we had in mind for that word (build consistent habits) versus what 2023 had in mind for that word (consistent dumpster fires left and right)β¦ 2 totally different meanings. β β β β β β β β β So this year Iβm going with happiness. Itβs what I desired last year. Itβs what Iβll strive for in all things this year. β¨
