🍷Sometimes I describe my impression of a wine very precisely and simply. A single word is enough. 🍇🍷🖤 #black 💯✔️ You can always add more words and impress people with an expert description. Black fruit, black pepper, lsmoke, black ink, charcoal, carbon minerality (🤭), freshly worked black soil (🙈), black velvet tannins (🤩👍), etc etc etc… ✌️At the end, what matters is how the wine makes you feel. If its balance and harmony makes you feel good… like when in front of a fireplace, sharing the experience with people you really like. Ho incontrato, con immenso piacere, Daniele e Pierpaolo di @marengomaurovini, mancava solo @eliseechamps ✨✨ e ho scoperto che producono un Vermouth bianco e uno rosso che rispettano la storicità del #vermouthditorino, mantenendo le radici ben salde al loro territorio di origine, Novello, nel cuore di Langa. I really like vertical tasting, same variety, same winemaker… and this time different terroir and different approach. #chardonnay is a Grape Diva to me (I call it SHE). 🥂2017: grapes from Rúbaň (Southern Slovakia), silty loess with quaternary marine sediments👌 👉long cold soak, fermentation, malo and aging in oak. 👁️👃👄bright, golden yellow hues, intense exotic perfume on the nose, dry, bold, round and concentrated and multi layered on the palate, smooth finish, a serious, very New World style wine 9️⃣2️⃣✅ 🥂2021: grapes from Čachtice (Small Carpathians), sandy loam and loess with high limestone content🫶 👉short cold maceration, spontaneous fermentation, malo and aging in stainless steel and acacia vats, uncleared, unfiltered. 👁️👃🏻👄 Straw yellow with lemon hue, very floral and fruity perfume with minty notes, refreshingly dry with a steely acidity, sensation of sweetness coming from ripe juicy apple and pear on the palate, a lovely creamy finish 🔝 Definitely an Old World, cool climate style 9️⃣0️⃣ it’s best is yet to come 👏 @martin_pomfy_vinarstvo_mavin @rona5starglass #unitedbywine #defendingquality #wine #winetasting #wineinmoderation #wineisculture #oenologist #lovemyjob

Dry February vertical focused on my favourite dry Grüner Veltliner a.k.a. Veltlinske Zelene 🥂✨🟢 from two of my favourite winemakers 💯🔥with different approaches, different terroir, similar passion for wine 🧩 👉MARTIN POMFY: all three wines coming from Vinosady- Hauspereg, with loamy loess soils in Small Carpathians: 🟢the 2022 is light and fruity, easy drinking 🟢the 2021 “Selection” is very complex, juicy and spicy, lovely fruity aftertaste, faithful to the variety, still great potential 👏👏👏 🟢the 2019 “Special Selection” is completely unique, more neutral in aromatics, very elegant and classy in style, reminding some of the classic Burgundies 💯👍👌✅ 👉BOTT FRIGYES 2016, vineyards in Belá, alluvial soils with outcrops of marine sediments and volcanic rock in South Slovakia 🟢the 2016 is very original in style, bone-dry, austere with a steely acidity and noble texture, reminds of some Wachau’s best GruVe.
