Before the commercialization of detergent bar and powders, it was a part and parcel of the everyday life of the rural homes of our region Evey home had atleast one tree in the yard or agriculture lands. Nuts are harvested, sun dried, cleaned and stored in airtight bags for year long use. Traditionally soap nuts are used for cleaning basically anything, from washing clothes, heavy bedsheets, dishes, baby's clothes, nappies, as a liquid soap, cleaning silk and woollen clothes , shining silver and gold ornaments, stubborn oil cans and greasy vessels, household cleaning etc. Soapnut helps moisturize the skin and treats stubborn acne. Its antimicrobial properties help treat skin and scalp infections. In traditional and rural medicine soapnut is used to treat asthma, epilepsy, and migraines. It is also used as detergent, bio-surfactant and remedial for organic soil pollution in the modern science. Flowers attract all species of honeybees and scores of pollinators. Honey collected during the flowering season is known for it's medicinal value.Leaves are useful for mulching and compost. Unfortunately due to deforestation, monoculture farming, lack of awareness, easy availability of chemical detergents we have lost these trees. Harvesting, handpicking the berries, drying, cleaning is a labour intensive work. Continued in the comments .

SAHAJA FARMACY Know your food Know your farmer Continuing the pollinator flower series Honeybees and other beneficial pollinators never go hungry in our natural farm. Honeybees in our natural forest farm round the year collect nectar and pollen of various seasonal, perennial, annual trees, plants, shrubs, medicinal herbs and wild flowers. Worldwide there is an alarming decline in pollinator populations. Without pollinators, the human race and all of earth’s terrestrial ecosystems would not survive. Excessive use of pesticides and an ever-expanding conversion of landscapes to human use are the biggest culprits. The simple truth is that without them we can't live. In our cow based zero waste ,eco friendly, pollinator forest farm for nearly four decades we haven't used any pesticides or chemicals and we're happy we are doing our bit to a safe society and safe planet. Please check our previous posts on pollinator flowers. More about the importance of pollinators, pollinator flowers to come in our upcoming series on tree talk and pollinator flower series. SAHAJA FARMACY Liquid gold from our second harvest of the season Honey has been the part of Indian tradition, culture and medicine for centuries. Honey is the natural sweet substance produced by the honeybees. It is derived from the nectar of numerous species of flowers or blossoms, or secretion of living parts of plants which the bees collect, transform by combining the specific substances of their own , deposit, dehydrate, store, leave in honeycomb to ripen and mature. The bees add to the nectar, during its transformation in honey various enzymes and lactobacilli which are very important for the honey's therapeutic properties . The taste, aroma, flavor and the anti oxidant properties will vary from season to season, depending on which flowers are dominant at the time the nectar is collected. Honey is the healer. It may be considered as a medicine with nutritive value than simply being a food with nutritive value Natural, unprocessed , raw honey contains carbohydrates, trace enzymes, amino acids, antioxidants, B vitamins and minerals and contains more powerful health benefits, in terms of healing wounds and fighting infections The miraculous healing properties of honey can be claimed to prevent cancer and heart disease, reduce ulcers, ease digestive problems, regulate blood sugar, soothe coughs and sore throats, a healthy and glowing skin and hair and increase the over all performance of the person As our farm activities kept us busy, we could not check our one bee boxes it in time . SAHAJA FARMACY Post harvesting process of Black pepper Part- 3 Cleaning and segregating is one of the important post harvest process which enhances the quality and shelf life of the black pepper and the pepper corns turn into black gold We @sahaja_farms do it manually which requires a skilled worker and this lady Girija helped us in cleaning/winnowing process. By cleaning we remove the small, lighter corns, spent spikes, pinheads which ensures the best quality of stored peppper.- Black gold #naturefirst #sahajafarms #shefarmHer #shefarmer #harvest #blackpepper #blackgold #pipernigrum #postharvestprocess #cleaning #qualitypepper #kingofspices #indiamspice #farmproduct #farmHer

SAHAJA FARMACY Let food be thy medicine and the medicine be thy food We harvested the season's first multi floral honey (Liquid Gold) few days ago but we couldn't post updates immediately as summer has approached and this is the peak season of farm activities for us Removing the combs attached to the top of the box, checking for the sealed combs, uncapping the comb before extracting the honey untouched by hands, in the manual operated machine, filtering it with clean cotton cloth/strainer, placing the honey extracted combs in the bee box calls for time and patience. Next comes the processing work. Harnessing the power of sun 🌞 we process it naturally which ensures a year long shelf life if stored in airtight jars. Situated in the foot hills of Western ghats our zero waste, regenerative natural forest farm offers a rich flora for the Honeybees and other beneficial pollinators. Honeybees round the year collect nectar and pollen of various seasonal, perennial, annual forest trees trees, plants, shrubs, medicinal herbs and wild flowers. The taste, aroma, colour, flavor and the anti oxidant properties will vary from season to season, depending on which flowers are dominant at the time the nectar is collected but every time each drop of honey mesmerises us with the mother nature's touch. A lot of times, honey bought at the store is heavily processed, loaded with sugar syrup or pasturized. The process of pasturization exposes the honey to high temperatures which destroy or remove enzymes, amino acids, minerals and vitamins in the honey and this decreases the anti oxidants and nutritional value of honey. Most of the health benefits of honey can be attributed to its antioxidants and enzymes. If you want to be sure to get all the health benefits.of honey, it is always better choose unprocessed raw honey which comes straight from nature #knowyourfood #knowyourfarmer #naturefirst #sahajafarms #shefarmer #coloursofnature #coloursoflife #summerspecial #regenerativefarm #zerowastefarm #liquidgold #forestfood #forestfarming #pollinatorfarm #honey #naturalhoney #wildflowerhoney #unprocessedhoney #multifloralhoney

Pest and Pesticide Pests are organisms that are found where not needed and pose a threat to man, other organisms and their surroundings. Pesticides are chemicals intended to destroy, repel, and prevent pests. In the business of agriculture, it goes without saying that pests are farmers enemies. Note: All organisms are important and I hold them in great esteem. However when they become a pest it becomes an enemy. Pest infestation in a given farm could be managed or reduced to a minimum through Good Agricultural practices. However there's nothing like complete eradication of pest in a farm (I stand to be corrected). Think pest management and stop overusing pesticides in the name of complete Pest eradication. Simple tips to start PMP 🪰🔫Pay keen attention to your crops while scouting. It helps in controlling and preventing the spread of pests 🪰🔫Read on the pest. 🪰🔫Research on the best pest management practice applicable to the pest, crop affected and climatic condition of the location per time. 🪰🔫Read the labels and Strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions. 🪰🔫Ask questions. 🪰🔫Wear PPE. 🪰🔫Dispose used containers properly by burying. #Shefarmer #farmers_can_save_lives_too

SAHAJA FARMACY It's this season of the year the honeybees in our farm make honey(Liquid Gold) for us in the bee boxes and wait for us to harvest the honey 🍯 Honey in our bee boxes was ready to harvest 3-4 weeks ago.As our other farm activities kept us busy, we could not harvest it in time . Being very industrious the bees accumulated honey in combs without frames on the top cover of the box😊(swipe to see the pictures) From June to November is the monsoon season in our coastal Karnataka region.Though the farm offers rich and diverse flora for the bees, rains hinders their activity. So the new honey harvesting season starts only in January or february. Till then the bees enjoy the honey from.the hive in the boxes. Even while extracting, the major part of the honey is left in the bee hive for honeybees and a small portion is collected for our use More healthy colony and bees in the farm increase pollination and produce more yield of crops. Natural raw honey is the priceless gift of nature, it's known as "liquid gold" for its incredible health benefits. In this world of adulteration it's difficult to find the pure, raw honey in its purest form. Have you ever tasted the raw honey from the honeycomb? Please share your experience with us 🙏 We'll be sharing the information about the importance of honeybees and other pollinators to the ecosystem, natural extraction and processing of honey in our farm, it's health benefits of raw honey in the coming days. SAHAJA FARMACY Post harvest processing of black pepper We @sahaja_farms make the post harvest work manually which includes separating the corns from spikes, blanching and fermenting the berries in the sun. Like most good things, this takes labour and time, but it can be done without any expensive equipment. Blanching is the process of immersing the berries in hot water for few minutes. We repurposed the old cotton carry bags for this process which makes the work easy (swipe to see the picture).Blanching improves the flavour, colour, and scent of the pepper and can help the berries dry more quickly. Next comes the fermantation and drying process. Here the berries are fermented by laying them down in the sun. To maintain the quality of pepper we spread it on old cotton clothes or cane mats. The pepper must be revolved in order to obtain an uniform drying. This process enhances the shelf life of berries, prevents mold growth and improves the enzymatic reaction of the berries which turns them into a black gold We practice eco friendly natural farming methods to grow our crops free from chemicals and pesticides , minimise the waste in an efficient way(water used for blanching is fed for plants, removed spikes used for mulching the plants) by focusing primarily on the 3Rs, "reduce, "reuse" and "recycle. thus contributing to a healthy eco system and safe planet for our future generation #naturefirst #sahajafarms #shefarmer #pipernigrum #blackpepper #spice #indianspice #postharvest #blackgold #safeplanet #healrhyecosysyem More to come in our next post

Happy Monday SheFarmer fam! Welcome to Week Two of the ‘SheFarmer January Reset’. Building and scaling business and life is a continuous process rather than a one-time task, but you can amplify and accelerate the build, scale, and blur when you have the right plan and the right people.  This year, I’ve partnered with government and local organisations to facilitate and host a series of in-region weekly workshops during the school terms - you need to be here! Here’s why workshops are valuable:   1.Skill Development Workshops are designed to provide hands-on experience and practical knowledge in a specific area. Whether it’s learning a new software, honing your communication skills, or mastering a particular technique, workshops offer a focused and immersive environment for skill development.   2.Networking Opportunities Workshops often bring together people with shared interests or professional goals. Networking with fellow participant, as well as the workshop facilitators or speakers, can open doors to new opportunities, collaborations, and connections within your industry or field.   3.Interactive Learning Workshops are typically interactive and participatory, encouraging engagement and active learning. This format allows you to ask questions, receive immediate feedback, and apply the concepts you’re learning in real-time, enhancing your understanding and retention of the material.   4.Stay Current and Relevant In many industries, the landscape is constantly evolving. Workshops provide a platform to stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices. This can be crucial for professionals who want to remain competitive and adapt to changes in their industry.   5.Motivation and Inspiration Workshops often feature experienced and knowledgeable presenters who can inspire and motivate attendees. Exposure to new ideas, success stories, and different perspectives can provide you with a slip-stream and the next steps, reignite your passion for your work and provide a fresh perspective on challenges you may be facing. Delish right! I also have two weekly coaching spots left for 2024, DM me to find out more. #shefarmerjanuaryreset

SAHAJA FARMACY Continuing the pollinator flower series It's this season of the year the blossoms of soapnut trees in our farm bloom and offer rich pollen and nectar to the honeybees and other friendly pollinators .The season starts from late November to February . The buzzing of the bees is therapeutic. Not to mention honeybees make a enzyme and nutrient rich medicinal honey for us😊. The honey collected during this season is priced for its medicinal value. Soapnut or Sapindus emarginatus is very valuable honey source. All the Apis species collect its nectar and white pollen in large quantities. produce surplus of honey with pleasant aroma. During flowering periods bee colonies increase rapidly and develop swarming tendencies. Soapnut honey is much valued for its medicinal properties in India. Soapnut helps moisturize the skin and treats stubborn acne. Its antimicrobial properties help treat scalp infections. In traditional and rural medicine soapnut is used to treat asthma, epilepsy, and migraines. Note: Swipe to see the pictures. Over the past year since launching SheFarmer, one of the most heartwarming aspects has been the discovery of incredible women managing extraordinary businesses. As someone who places great emphasis on supporting local enterprises, especially during the festive season, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to some remarkable rural women in business. Their products and overall excellence have become indispensable in my life, and I can't help but share my enthusiasm with you. These are the businesses whose offerings I not only buy but also find myself continually encouraged and inspired by. 1. Bullys Meats – I bang on about Bullys all the time, founder and owner Robyn delivers and also pays it forward into by replicating and then gifting every purchase into vulnerable families. Bit (like a lot!) incredible hey! Bullys lamb salad is on high rotation in my household, she is making two deliveries between now and Christmas. 2. Zest Botanicals – founder and owner Angela created a 100% natural plant skincare range and this year when I decided to ‘up’ my skincare range as a thirtyish-fortyish-somethingish (43) woman I went straight to Zest. I use the serums, moisturiser and night cream and I’ve been loving myself sick ever since. 3. Even though I ate far too much cake during the pandemic (yes, there is such as thing as too much cake Rachel) I’m still here for Tilly’s cakes. I ordered her book before it was released, and its become in my forties what the ‘Women’s Weekly Birthday Cake’ book was when I was a child. Lots of page turning, dreaming and drooling. Im also prone to putting her content on my grid. 5. My girl Char (who was not ‘my girl Char’ this time last year) has brought a lot of sparkle and soul into community through her vocal gift and ‘Gospo’. I’m giddy that there ate two sleeps until Carols by Candelight AND that Fringe tickets went on sale yesterday! (I’ll schedule a date for us to go for Sisterhood.) 5. The WCH foundation is very close to my families heart and money spent here is definitely money well spent. Where are you spending your money this Christmas?

12/6/2023, 9:02:33 PM

All I want for Christmas is youuu 🎶 Just kidding… I want fourteen hours of sleep and then a buffet breakfast. Kiddddding! 🫣 Actually, I’m looking forward to Christmas Day, I spend the morning preparing food, travel to pick up my girls, and then have a house full of people for the afternoon and evening. I’ll end the day in my fave posi (well and truly collapsed) beside the Christmas tree lights. THEN it’s fourteen hours of sleep … and Boxing Day sales. Have you sorted your Christmas Day ‘fit? I’m taking my inspo from Flossy, but minus Santa’s hat. She pulls it and the pout off super well, noice, different, unusual, but it’s a no for me because it will flatten my pretty hair. 📸 @tracey_kruger #19sleeps

This week I had to adjust my attitude and remind myself of the privilege it is to have the world back ‘open’ post-pandemic and to attend Christmas festivities. I also simplified numerous things at home to ease the load during this Christmas season including: 1. I've streamlined meal prep by ordering a halfside of lamb from 'Bully's Meats' every two weeks. Bully’s is a South Australian based company that delivers to my door and upon delivery I 'batch cook' a stack of chops, keeping them in the fridge for easy reheating over the next few days. Paired with a simple salad including leaves (out of a bag), an orange juiced, avocado, nuts and seeds (also out of a bag), a dash of olive oil and salt salt salt, and a tray of oven-baked potatoes. Lamb and salad, and chicken and salad, will be on high-rotation during December. This dinner routine frees up considerable time and is delicious and nutritious, and Bully’s Meats ‘pays it forward’; with every lamb order purchased, the same order is gifted to a vulnerable family in the middle of Australia. 2. Christmas Pageants and Parades with reindeer face painting don’t happen much these days, but there is still plenty of festive fun to facilitate! To make this as smooth as possible I’m diligently managing my schedule, not just for work and social engagements but also for the multitude of activities involving my role as 'Mum's taxi'. 3. I've scheduled important meetings and appointments, including a chat with my wonderful accountant, Miriam from Fabtax Accounting, to ensure my business stays on track. Additionally, I've booked a GP appointment, car service, and had my girls list of their year-end appointments and checkups. 4. I've embraced the power of saying a gentle 'no' when needed, I don’t have to be everywhere, at every event or everything to everyone. 5. Lastly, I've reinforced the importance of personal habits and wellbeing (health, happiness and relationships) , recognising that nurturing health, happiness, and relationships is non-negotiable.   Today's agenda includes Lofty, Sisterhood, gingerbread house building and scrolling the sites of some of my SheFarmer businesses beside the Christmas tree lights. 🎄

What makes you laugh? Did you know that when we're flying solo, our laughter takes a nosedive, about thirty times less to be precise, compared to when we're in the company of others? Much like you, many of my days are spent submerged in the realms of writing, creating, curating, and navigating the administrative side of business, all on my lonesome. While I relish the autonomy and the control of managing the back-end of business, programs, and advocacy, dwelling in solitude constantly isn't the healthiest recipe and overtime, it becomes overwhelming. I worked from home for most of the pandemic and absolutely hated every minute, so to have freedom and mix up my days has been revolutionary. I've become a scheduling virtuoso, making sure to pencil in moments to nourish and nurture my wellbeing (health, happiness and relationships) and I’m telling you that laughter is a gamechanger. And its easy! I have teenage girls that laugh with me and at me, and I’ll take both. I also know Kath and Kim, not personally or verbatim, but I can spoike it quiet effluently, and watch several episodes a week and it gets funnier! I seek out Stepbrothers at least once a year and give me Will Ferral lipsyncing Beyonce any day of the week! There's something about Will Ferrell belting out Beyoncé with all the moves that sends me into fits of laughter like this pic, complete with closed eyes, a scrunched-up nose, and the unmistakable cackle of a content chook. Sure, it may not be the most glamorous sight, but after enduring seasons of grief, loss, and trauma, I've learned that your care factor for your appearance dwindles when you're reclaiming your laughter. Who or what brings all the funny to your days? Personally, I adore and may or may not relate slightly or a lot to 'Lyn' by Mel Buttle and the hilarious antics of Sooshi Mango are always irresistible and on reruns. Who else do I need to follow for all the funny?

SAHAJA FARMACY Blessings from our edible garden Lunch today was a salad bowl, long beans majjige huli(ಮಜ್ಜಿಗೆ ಹುಳಿ),ivy gourd+sprouted gram stir fry,Indian borage+nela nelli(phylantacea niruri) tambuli( both stir fry and tambuli are not in picture) Please swipe to see our rainbow harvest. Nature is so kind to us and we harvest these vegetables once in 2-3 days. Salad bowl consists of cucumber, onion, topped with foraged edible flowers- wild ixora and Senna auriculata and a dressing of cold pressed coconut oil and lemon juice. Both these flowers are rich in anti oxidants and high fibre content, known for their medicinal properties. Wild ixora (ಕೇಪುಳ) has a sweet, astringent note known for its prebiotic properties used to treat mouth and stomach ulcers and also white coating or fungal infection of mouth and tongue in toddlers and kids. Blooms and buds of senna auriculata also known as avarampoo(ಎಲವರಿಕೆ ಹೂವು) known to improve the glow and complexion of the skin when used on a regular basis and consuming it's tea has many health benefits. Majjige huli is a coconut, green chillies and buttermilk flavoured curry. The purple long beans when cooked added its mild colour to the curry(picture 4) Did you know that adding color to your meals will help you live a longer, healthier life? Colorful fruits and vegetables can paint a beautiful picture of health because they contain phytonutrients, compounds that give plants their rich colors as well as their distinctive tastes and aromas. When we eat plant foods, phytonutrients protect us from chronic diseases. Phytonutrients have potent anti-cancer and anti-heart disease effects. And research suggests that food patterns that include fruits and vegetables are associated with a reduced risk of many chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, and may be protective against certain types of cancers. Follow a good food habit, healthy lifestyle and try to include atleast 3-5 coloured fruits and vegetables in your daily diet for health and longevity #naturefirst #sahajafarms #shefarmer #planttoplate #gardentotable #farmtotable #simplejoysoflife #farmtotable #rainbowharvest #phytonutrients #humanswhogrowfood

Happy Monday SheFarmer fam! Today I’m celebrating you and your commitment to growth, development, learning and contributing – especially when times are tough, when you feel overwhelmed or if you’re facing personal struggles. I see those of you who invest time and effort to build something meaningful and the hard work and sacrifice that it takes to build something meaningful. This morning, I have the pleasure of participating in a workshop that encompasses all things ‘online’, and it’s being held in a gorgeous space beachside (stunning!) so I’m embracing all that’s in this opportunity to enhance my learning. It’s essential for me to lean in, actively listen, and absorb valuable insights that will empower both my business and my role in SheFarmer. Achieving my own significant goals requires effort, I too am committed to continuous improvement, closing-out this year well, and setting up my 2024 ‘little by little’. I am excited about delving into all things ‘online’, even though it’s not my niche and this is not the lane that I coach or facilitate workshops, its important for my business, I am determined to refine my skills to ensure that my contributions and communication are cute AND align seamlessly with the needs of my SheFarmer community. Above all, my aspiration is to achieve SUPERMUM status and engage in meaningful work and leave a lasting legacy. A big part of SheFarmer is online and so I have a lot of growth to do here to then disseminate my expertise. Lesssgo! 😮‍💨 #ruralwomeninbusiness

Gradually, over time, if you've spent more than a moment here, you've likely caught on to my three simple words that echo repeatedly, particularly in the midst of #SF7DC. Little by little. Why ‘little by little’? Because it wields incredible power, its achievable, its manageable, its sustainable, and it gives you the results you want. It's easy to look at others who further along the path, measuring the gap between their competence and our perceived incompetence, and want to quit. We envision their destination and fear we'll never arrive at 'that' place. Let me reassure you—'that' place is just a chapter in your unique story and journey. It's not the focal point you should fixate on. Instead, you need to direct your attention to your 'why.' Recently, as I made pivotal decisions for my 2024, the process was remarkably smooth, guided by the clarity of my 'why' and the wisdom I too find in embracing progress 'little by little.' On a personal note, I opted out of an opportunity because my daughter will be embarking on her Year 12 journey. My desire is to be fully present for her, both emotionally and physically and this opportunity would have whisked me away during critical moments for her. Knowing that her love language is quality time, I've chosen to be physically present so I can be that stabilising and nurturing presence during those crucial times because I know the profound impact it has on her sense of feeling happy and loved. In my professional sphere, I've turned down a few work opportunities, navigating toward a better-suited, more purposeful, and harmoniously aligned path. This new direction not only resonates with my 'why' but seamlessly integrates with my role as a mother. Moreover, it's worth noting that even when you reach 'that' place, you can lose yourself again with glimpses of 'another' place. Today is a the day for your to learn to find joy along the journey, celebrating the small and the big wins, to align and connect with your people (they are out there I promise!), and to derive fulfillment from aligning with your 'why’. Your ‘why’ is where its at. Promise. #ruralwomeninbusiness

SAHAJA FARMACY This festive season "Gift health" to yourself and your dear ones a creamy, buttery natural moisturizer inspired by mother nature and Grandmother. Yes you heard it right! Our elders knew the secret of protecting and nourishing the skin with natural, homemade skin care products. As a farm kid I have seen my Ajji(grandmother), Amma(mother) making virgin beeswax cream using cold pressed oils to keep their hands and feet smooth and soft. Post marriage when I started dirtying my hands and feet in the soil and dung i learnt to make it with the goodness of two secret herbs from our garden which are known for skin hydrating, moisturising, nourishing and healing properties. Later when my daughters went to the city to pursue their higher studies, the weather called for a regular use of moisturizer for the skin. When your farm is your laboratory, outside four walls you have sea of opportunities to explore in nature I started harnessing the power of seasonal aromatic flowers and herbs known for their unique skin softening, soothing, calming ,healing, exfoliating and nourishing properties. From ages cold pressed oils and virgin bee butter have been used by our elders for various skin conditions and are known to have exceptional healing properties due to its anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial, anti fungal benefits, are reputed for promoting hydration of skin, help neutralize free radicals and stimulate cell growth. The natural fragrance of aromatic herbs are reputed to relieve stress and instantly uplift the mood. If you are looking for a natural skin moisturizer, lip balm, toe butter which is free from chemicals, paraben, preservatives, artificial fragrance here's a natural skin care product made in the farm with love and care, safe for babies, pregnant women, aged and all age groups. Simply apply it on your chapped lips hands, heels, toes or onto the skin after every wash or at least twice a day and especially after getting out of the shower and let the power of nature work on your skin. We care for your skin #farmproduct DM us to place order

November marks a year of SheFarmer! While it’s only one year since the launch of 'SheFarmer', I registered the business name twelve years ago always knowing I would contribute to rural women in business. What you might not know is that ‘SheFarmer’ isn't my first rodeo, I've tried launching purposeful communities and resources as an entrepreneur twice before. Looking back, I've learned so much from those experiences, but I eventually outgrew them. They didn't quite align with my experience, expertise, and vision, and they lacked the focused niche that I needed to craft, create, curate, and contribute as purposefully and expertly as I can at SheFarmer. It's been a year since launching SheFarmer and its ‘successful’ because I have been able to utilise my previous and lived experiences; 1. this is my third attempt at building an online community, 2. I've been consulting in leadership and wellbeing for five years working as a coach, workshop facilitator, and more, 3. I've been a parent for seventeen years, 4. I’ve been in leadership roles for twenty-four years, and 5. I’ve been a champion and contributor to community for twenty-eight. These experiences have made me more self aware, aligned and have amplified and accelerated all that encompasses SheFarmer. I'm not one to quote others, but Warren Buffet's refusal to work with anyone who hasn't faced two failed businesses resonates with me. Failure has a unique way of teaching us things you can't find in books or observe from the sidelines. Failure equals growth, evolution, additional skills, knowledge, understanding, and compassion. It's a fast-track to success next time because, believe me, there will always be a next and a next time. So keep going! The right people already see you and darling you have important work to do! Now, to get ready for Crack Kitchen and cake! Rachel x

Ive just had a week away from social media to turn down the noise, recalibrate, realign, rest, reflect, reconcile how well I’m executing my vision, mission and goals and to reconnect with my loved ones. I never regret the time away. It’s also given me extra space to create and nurture new programmes and relationships and 2024 is taking shape beyond my wildest dreams! What’s my wildest dreams? Changing the lives of more people. It’s always always always all about people and purpose. Always. And can you believe … SheFarmer turns one this month! 👈🏻 Swipe for my first blurry soft launch pic on this account in Nov 2022. 🫶🏻 Time flies when you’re working hard, in your lane, fulfilling purpose and call, having fun, niched down and nestled in the best Sisterhood on earth! See you at Crack Kitchen tomorrow and let’s eat cake! 😮‍💨

I’d wrestle a bear in a tutu for those precious moments in my day that keep me sane and smiling. Like you, I’ve juggled massive days as a farmer, businessperson and entrepreneur, and for the past thirteen years I have been a superhero single mummy, as well as prioritising moments to sprinkle stardust in community. Over the years I’ve learned a few things: 1. I can’t be a superhero to everyone, but I’m like the secret sauce for a select few, 2. I can’t do everything at once, but when I focus, I can work wonders, and 3. I can’t take months off (my circus doesn’t run on autopilot), but I can steal precious moments and micro-moments like a ninja. The moments and micro-moments I take each day to nurture my wellbeing (health, happiness and relationships) include a mix of hiking, running, watching sunsets, messaging and phoning girlfriends, coffee (and more coffee please and thank you!) study, prayer, podcasts and books, Kath and Kim re-runs (I speak fluent Kath and Trude), journalling, blogging, cuddles with my girls and let me at an op-shop – I love a bargain! I’ve also learned how important laughter is, when you are on your own you laugh thirty times a day LESS than when you are surrounded by people. Laughter is like a magical elixir for your health, happiness, and relationships. It battles stress, boosts your mood, bonds you with your fellow humans, makes your immune system do the happy dance, relieves pain, keeps your heart in check, and helps you chill out while being a creativity ninja. It’s like a superhero power in disguise! So my mission is to find the funny every single day. How do you grab your daily doses of joy and snatch those precious moments in your life? #ruralwomeninbusiness #wellbeing #laughter
