The conclusion to “The Atlas” series follows Callum, Reina, Parisa, Libby, Nico, and Tristan as they fight to survive the lethal terms of their initiation and face the consequences of limitless power. The beginning of the “Atlas Complex” is so slow I nearly gave up on it, but if you find yourself in the same position, do NOT do it! Blake intentionally takes her time leading up to the novel’s explosive ending so as to focus on how the characters develop when they are given endless knowledge and power. I was gripped by each character’s point-of-view as they become corrupted by Atlas’ promise of making their wildest dreams come true—the cost of which was losing themselves and even then that proved to not be enough, a realization that came too late. Gone are the people they once were in “The Atlas Six”. Callum is consumed by obsession, Reina devotes herself to things she cannot control, Parisa sheds her vanity, Libby loses her moral compass, Nico becomes too trusting, and Tristan wants for too much. Their fates were sealed once the Society, the Archives, and the Forum became a part of their lives and this just goes to show that human beings will do anything to achieve greatness, even if that means compromising their goodness. Blake’s commentary is haunting and will make you reflect on your own choices and question what you would do and who you would betray for glory. The final chapters are an emotional overload as each character is confronted by the repercussions of their actions. It’s utter chaos…just as it should be. ✨ The Atlas Six review ✨ My rating with a book closely related with my experience reading them. I'm not exaggerating when I say TA6 audiobook is life changing. I tried to read it, and it just doesn't work😭😂 since I used to go through 17kms journey to my workplace, I started listening to audiobook a lot and TA6 AUDIOBOOK IS HEAVENLY and I FELL IN LOVE HARD WITH THE NARRATORS. SUDDENLY, THE STORY COMES TO LIFE 😭😭😭😭 I can picture them better and somehow everything else bcome better, too😭😭😭😂 the plot, the character development, the plot twist, the reasons behind the action, THE RELATIONSHIP. OMG THE RELATIONSHIP. I love how polymary they could be. I love the setting, the study. The magic system is quite wide-ranged. It involved both scientific comprehension, and emotional excellence. So, there's an empath, someone who talks to nature, a telepath, an Illusionist and Physicists. Kinda hard to grasp, but once u get it, get it. These are so extra but they are hands down the most beautiful editions of this trilogy I think! I’m in love with them so I really hope I’ll enjoy this book as well, because I’d like for this series to hold on to its home on my bookshelf for years to come ☺️ I’m still feeling unwell so I’m going to stay home all day — I wish I could say I’ll be staying home to read, but the truth is that I’ll probably have to do some cleaning and assist in exam prep a bit. The Atlas Six - Olivie Blake I have to preface this by saying that I struggled with a large majority of this book. I spent three-quarters of the book wondering when the action would and, to be fair to the author, I was suddenly hooked when the action did start. It just happened so late that I wasn’t gripped for most of the book and found myself easily confused and a little bit bored, but I think that might have to do with me not being able to wrap my head around the real scientific descriptions and understanding of their magic. I enjoyed the time I spent with all six characters, although Libby tended to get on my nerves more than anything else and I found myself really disliking Callum, although I think that was intended. Reina and Parisa were massively likeable characters to me, with interesting pasts and extremely powerful magic. They’re certainly characters that I would love to read more about in other contexts. I loved Nico, he was perhaps the only character that I found myself liking in his entirety, and then there was Tristan who was perpetually interesting with immense character depth and history that even he doesn’t fully understand. However, the twist and the way the action at the end unfolded was not something that I had anticipated AT ALL. From who the pivotal character was, to the plans and schemes that they had been building with other important characters, I was truly taken aback by the twist, I just wished that it had happened sooner as I don’t feel connected enough to the characters to read the sequel, unfortunately. Overall, I didn’t particularly enjoy this book, however the ending really pulled the rating up for me, I just wish the whole book had played out similarly. ☆☆☆☆ olivie blake sliced humanity open and left its bleeding heart on the page. my spoiler free thoughts: the atlas six are some of the most complex and incredibly nuanced characters i have encountered, and that holds true throughout the entirety of the atlas complex. what i love most about olivie’s characters is that the reader falls in love with them not in spite of, but because of, their absolutely flawed and vulnerable choices. they are all, in some way, bad people; yet they are also all, in some way, good. they are real. they are a mirror of what it is to be a part of humanity, and i don’t think i will ever have elegant enough words to express just how beautiful and intricate this story is. why four stars? i was very frustrated with the ending of the atlas trilogy. while i understand that, to a certain extent, the point is that life is unsatisfying and full of things to be angry about, i do feel that a few of the ending plot points felt unrealistic for the established character arcs. despite these things, i still adored a majority of this novel. spoilers from this point forward: it is very obvious that libby’s corruption arc has been building from the atlas six; however, i felt that her choice in directing the experiment’s power into nico and, in turn, killing him felt out of touch even for a corrupted libby. juxtaposed with their heart-to-heart only a few chapters prior, it felt even more so out of character for her. yes, i understand that this was the solidification of her arc/in choosing herself for once, but for her to sacrifice nico to so do was an interesting choice. i think it would have been more impactful for her to have killed tristan, especially given that he was the one who spurred her into making the decision to set off the nuclear explosion that returned her to the present time, and, thus, to him. i also didn’t feel that callum’s death really contributed much to the overall plot, which frustrated me as i have been rooting for him and tristan since book one. all this to say, i have very complicated feelings about the final installment of this trilogy, but olivie blake’s writing continues to be some of the best i have ever read.

You need to devote yourself to this story and trust the way things evolve. It is incredibly complex, from the way the characters themselves are built, but also from the intricacy of their relationships which changes drastically throughout the trilogy, to the mysteries of the universe it holds and the depth of every sentence. There is a spectre. You move from the best one liners you’ll probably hear in a good while to complete heartbreak. The Atlas Six is only the first layer you encounter and it seems to be your typical dark academia novel. Then the end breaks you and leaves you with a handful of questions. The Atlas Paradox searches answers, but releases chaos and The Atlas Complex makes peace with what you can and can’t control. The Atlas Complex is by far the saddest and the most heartbreaking one. Such an impactful and meaningful end to a series. You grow so fond of the six main characters and you end up pitying them. This is an ode to this universe, to the million questions these books present and to Olivie Blake, who managed to bring some powerful magic to our doubts. No spoilers in caption Dw okay now my thoughts on the entire trilogy I know some people say it’s so pretentious and can’t even get through the first book and I understand!! The Atlas Complex by Olivie Blake review ✨ I have to start this off by saying I absolutely ADORED this trilogy, I love the characters so so much and would read the first book 100 time again! this book made the jump from possible 5 stars, i love it, i breath it, i can’t think about anything else, to just… mid I love Olivie Blake’s writing, to this day I’ve never read anything quite like it and I don’t think I ever will, and the characters in the atlas trilogy are so complex, with so many little details about them, I just can’t help but adore the absolute hell out of them and this is about where the positives of this book end (kind of?) without jumping into spoilers I will say that the ending was disappointing to me, it felt like there wasn’t any closure (or I’m just not clever enough to get it, but we move), the one thing that will absolutely stay with me is the characters and how unique they were now onto spoilers!!! DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED THE ATLAS COMLEX: nico and callum’s deaths felt so bloody ridiculous to me, after nico died the book just went downhill and this is not me saying if you kill a character I will hate your book, it’s me saying it felt unnecessary and didn’t do shit to the story, the libby corruption arc was already in motion and nico dying didn’t really bring a whole lot to it and callum?? it felt so disappointing to see how his story ended, but his death I kind of understood more even if I wasn’t particularly pleased with it onto the other characters, it felt like reina just wasn’t in this book, like genuinely nothing much happened for her and the ending her and parisa got was just so disappointing, and tristan?? literally how did his story end, because im still trying to figure that one out, not to mention how bloody sad i was for gideon overall, the book is very cleverly written, as is the whole trilogy, but it shouldn’t take me 3-5 business days to figure out what I just read and how it ended with that said, I will still be reading everything Olivie Blake puts out, because I’ve absolutely adored every book of hers I’ve read so far, this one just wasn’t it

the atlas six 🕯️📖✨⏳🗡️ - review “knowledge is carnage. you can’t have it without sacrifice.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) my first thought when i started this was that i found olivie blake used a lot of big words just for the sake of it. i understand that the elevated language appeals to the dark academia genre and the fact that the MC’s are all academic scholars but as a reader it makes comprehension difficult at times. that being said i felt she let up on the quantity of big words as the story progressed. i also think that some of the story falls flat to the fact that the actual world this novel is set in isn’t really explained as much as it could have been. the magic system that the characters use is explained to be biased on laws of physics and quantum theory but if you know little to nothing about that, you’re kind of left in the dust. cons aside, i feel that the character’s and their interwinding relationships really made this book (yes, its a character driven book). despite the characters themselves not really being typically likeable, i found that their interactions were very interesting and made me feel more connected to the story. i found myself making my own theories about the characters relationships and almost wishing we just got more interactions. the concept of this novel was very intriguing and kept me interested in what was going to happen. the dark academia vibes were *chefs kiss* and i just absolutely loved the setting of the alexandrian society. it was so atmospheric and honestly a book lovers dream. last 70 pages or so is absolutely crazy and gave me high hopes for the next book! id definitely recommend this is you’re looking for a dark academia read that’s character driven, and that will make you feel smart while you’re reading it 📖💫

✧ Author + Book Appreciation Post ✧ @olivieblake <3 ~ The first ever book by @olivieblake that I ever read was "The Atlas Six" and I was instantly obsessed. The story, the characters, the way she writes plus the beautiful illustrations by @littlechmura make her books impossible not to like. She's easily one of my favorite authors even though I haven't read much by her. I do however plan on reading more of her books in the near future. Oggi parliamo di The Atlas Paradox di @olivieblake secondo libro di una trilogia iniziata con The Atlas Six So che a molte persone questo libro non è piaciuto e in parte posso capire le motivazioni ma io vado controcorrente. Questa è una serie che sto amando principalmente per i suoi personaggi, questo secondo libro mi è piaciuto moltissimo. Mentre il primo libro si concentra di più sul worldbuilding e il suo funzionamento il secondo volume ci porta a seguire di più lo sviluppo dei personaggi e la trama, infatti è meno complessa e più facile da seguire rendendo il libro molto più scorrevole e lineare. Penso che l'autrice sia riuscita a caratterizzare meglio i suoi protagonisti e a dare loro più forma, finalmente li vediamo mettersi in gioco e prendere delle decisioni importanti per le loro vite. Finalmente abbiamo il risveglio di Reina, per me rimane comunque il personaggio meno interessante per il momento, ma ho apprezzato vedere finalmente di che pasta è fatta (Le interazioni con le piante sono state esilaranti 😂). Parisa rimane sempre una dei miei personaggi preferiti, adoro il suo modo di affrontare le cose, è una badass e non si fa spaventare da nulla, si vede anche un suo momento di fragilità che me l'ha fatta amare ancora di più. Callum è sempre psicopatico (io amo gli psicopatici 😏), la cosa che mi è piaciuta di lui è che finalmente riesce a creare un rapporto con gli altri, inizialmente per necessità ma poi il rapporto si trasforma in vera amicizia. Tristan rimane il mio personaggio preferito, finalmente riesce a mettersi in gioco, ad essere meno spaventato, ad osare di più per arrivare al suo obiettivo. [ ↓↓↓ ] continua nei commenti

Meanwhile, Libby is stuck in the past and has to find a way home while surviving in her current timeline. Plot: The plot of this book was good, but it was insanely slow. Most of the characters POVs was of them discovering things, whether through their reading in the archives, their conversations with others, or their own introspection, so while it was interesting, it wasn’t particularly engaging. Characters: I definitely learned a lot more about each of the characters, but I felt like all of them were missing a little depth in this book. Because there were so many POV’s, I got a good glimpse of how all the characters were developing, but I felt like I never got the whole picture. My favorite character in this book was Libby, partially because I loved her personality and partially because she was in a different timeline so her perspective was more unique. Overall: A pretty good continuation, with plenty of interesting but slow monologues. Plot: The plot definitely dragged a little in the beginning, but I’m glad I chose to keep reading. The end of the book was full of plot twists, some that I could guess and others I couldn’t guess, which made up for the slow start. The worldbuilding was very interesting, although it wasn’t very clear to me in the beginning. I found the writing style to be a little hard to understand, but it did make the book feel more mystical. Characters: I found all of the characters fascinating. Having each of their POVs gave them more depth, and I found myself truly intrigued. I was surprised by how much my opinion of the characters changed over time, because although I hated Parisa at the beginning, I definitely liked her towards the end. My favorite character was probably Reina. Overall: A pretty good dark academia novel, with magic and betrayals. “rhodes, you’re a wildfire.” | ☆☆☆☆ this was a journey! i have so much i want to say and not enough space, so forgive me for the nonsense that will ensue this book suffers from “second book syndrome” imo in the first half. there’s not a lot of plot, more of a bunch of plotlines that come together in the end. the six are (obviously after book 1) not together much - or really, at all - which i didn’t like, bc i love me a good team up of not-friends-but-not-enemies. HOWEVER, the pay off in the end is so so so good. we get more ezra pov, more dalton pov, and gideon pov which i LOVED. my favorite was parisa’s story line & her relationship with love and being loved with dalton. i could go on for hours. all i’ll say is i’m very excited for her and dalton in book 3… 😏 callum was my least favorite character in book 1, but is now my second least because… reina? you good? her god complex was… certainly something. her and callum together is quite a dangerous pairing, but honestly, they both kinda knock each other down a peg when needed, so, good. and LIBBY!!! her entire character arc from book 1 to now. gosh i love her so much. i’m super excited to see her in book 3 (and do not blame everyone lusting over her at the end js) *spoilers!* now, i was rooting for nicoXgideon but was NOT EXPECTING THAT ENDING!!! Od początku byłam zaintrygowana tą książką. 6 kandydatów rywalizujących ze sobą, a tylko 5 miejsc. Każdy ze specyficznymi zdolnościami magicznymi. Opis po prostu zachęca. Pomimo 6 perspektyw, a nawet więcej odnalazłam się i to dosyć szybko, co było miłym zaskoczeniem, bo mogłoby się wydawać, że takie skakanie z postaci do postaci będzie męczące, a nie było. Wiadomo miałam swoje bardziej lubiane i te mniej, ale wszystkie się przenikały. Czasami książka zawierała w sobie dosyć trudne opisy, takie trochę naukowe albo psychologiczne, co nadaje jej specyficzny klimat. Nastrój robi też na pewno tajemniczość i nieufność. Ciężko odróżnić, co jest prawdą, a co ułudą. W pewnych momentach sama nie wiedziałam, czy mi się to podoba, czy nie, ale kurczę, to było ciekawe. Teraz potrafię przyjąć jednoznaczne stanowisko i przyznam, że mi się podobało, ale bardziej pasuje tu określenie intrygowało, którego chyba przez tę książkę zacznę nadużywać. [📚 REVIEW] The Atlas Six - 5🌟 Okay, so, this book. The hype and the premise intimidated me long before I started it but holy sht did I enjoy it so much. The plot was a little slow and I couldn’t fully wrap my head around the entire thing 100% (i never hyper fixate with those anyway 😂) but I got the gist and it’s interesting as hell. Magic system, great 💯👌 Writing, fan-fvcking-tastic! 👏 Now, the characters! 🤴👸 They are it. They make this story. They are the book. ✨ And I am SO attached to these imperfect little shts. 😍 Libby, the sweetheart but can also be not so sweet. Nico, he’s a closet softieee. Reina, mother earth (literally? 🙈). Kickass (literally). Tristan, rough around the edges but straight as an arrow at the same time. Conflicted af. Callum, master player, dominating too. Parisa, MY MOTHERFVCKIN QUEEN, badass extraordinaire, cunning af, complexities overload. Every single one of them slaps! Their POVs are awesome and their struggles I often see reflected mine. It is their complexities that draws me in, the realness and relatable conflict within one’s self. Callum and Parisa are the ultimates for me. A cut above the rest. They are so very alike that they repel each other. These two imo is the most interesting of the six like I would just love to pick their brains! Their scenes are compelling and electric and I always look forward to seeing them try to one up the other. I thought I saw a potential ship between those two initially but this rivalry was SO MUUUCH BETTER. I’m here for it. Parisa and Dalton, endgame or not, they STEAL MY FVCKIN BREATH AWAY. The tension is craaaazy. Ugh. I love them so much! I need my next Atlas Six book fix. On to Paradox! 🖤

Ich muss zugeben, ich lese eigentlich kein Fantasy, aber diese Bücher haben mich überzeugt. Ich hab bisher nur Band 1 gelesen und ich musste mir direkt Band 2 kaufen. Ich bin so gespannt, wie es weiter geht. Man kann sich sehr gut in das Buch und die Protagonisten/innen hineinversetzen. Ich muss sagen es ist sogar vielleicht ein Jahreshighlight für mich. 📜Reseña📜 Hola genteeeee, hoy traigo reseña de este tremendo libro🖤 "The Atlas six" en español "Los seis de Atlas" escrito por @olivieblake Este libro va de que los seis magos más poderosos y talentosos son convocados para competir por una plaza para estudiar en la sociedad secreta Alejandrina. Van a haber traiciones, alianzas, secretos, y unos plot twists que te dejan así 🤯 Es un dark academia con mucha fantasía, incluyendo una narrativa más adulta y "compleja" El sistema de magia es impresionante, cada uno tiene una habilidad diferente y en este libro te explican más o menos cómo funciona cada habilidad, aunque no termines de entender algo, vos seguí leyendo, que igual es hermoso todo jsja. El que tenga tantos puntos de vista diferentes me encantó, amo los libros que son así<3 y, dato aparte, yo lo escuché el audiolibro en inglés, y tener a todas las voces de los distintos personajes fué una experiencia increíble. Y también las distintas personalidades de cada uno es genial, todos a mí parecer tiene una forma de narrar diferente, y que pase eso en un libro con tantos personajes me encanta. Y en mi opinión, aunque tenga una narrativa más adulta, tiene sus toques juveniles, así que si no te gusta eso, no te lo recomiendo. Y los personajes ✨ moralmente grises✨ son geniales, las ilustraciones que contiene el libro de ellos son preciosas. Aclaro también que es un libro muy introductorio, ya que es principio de trilogía si mal no recuerdo, pero aunque no pasen tantas cosas me fascinó de igual manera, todo el desarrollo de los acontecimientos hasta el final que te deja picando para el segundo tomo, amé. Maybe you didn't have time to visit Japan, so we're bringing Japan to you! My good friend and all-around life spark, Reina Mori, is popping up at our beloved Rule of Thirds in Brooklyn (Greenpoint) this Wednesday through Friday. That's right, she's closing her izakaya (temporarily) in Kagoshima's legendary Tenmonkan district to share her energy and passion for all things shochu with us in New York City. Here's what we have in store for you: Wednesday (May 17) - Free shochu tasting with Reina and the team from Honkaku Spirits. Hosted by BinBin Sake (located on the Rule of Thirds premises). Reservations are required (via Eventbrite). Thursday (May 18) - Izakaya 017 Yokaban Popup - Day 1 Japan's premier camping brand, Snow Peak, is helping us set up a Yokaban Yatai where Reina can cook for 8 customers at a time--very much like sitting at the counter in her izakaya in Kagoshima City. Artwork by papercut artist, Emi Tomita, will also be on display. Reservations are required (via Resy), and seats are disappearing quickly! 🗡️Atlas Altılısı 🗡️ Sonunda kitabın incelemesini yazabiliyorum. Öncelikle bence kitap güzeldi. Konusu olsun, karakterler olsun, gerçekten güzeldi. Beğenmeyenler kitabı anlamamış olanlar. Kitabın çevirisi ve dili birçok kişinin söylemesinin aksine bence çok güzeldi. Ancak kitapta bilimle alakalı (daha doğrusu fizikle alakalı) baya konuşma ve betimleme vardı. Bu nedenle beğenmeyenler anlamamış olabilir. Sayısalcı olarak bence gayet basitti. Eğer bunu okumakta zorlanıyorsanız sizi wattpad'e alalım. Karakterler ve konu hakkında konuşmak gerekirse, öncelikle favorim net Libby'di. Neden bilmiyorum ama kendimle çok bağdaştırdım. Bayıldım karaktere. Daha sonra Nico... Nico'yu da çok sevdim açıkçası. Özellikle başlarda Libby ile o kadar shiplemiştim ki. İkisi de fizikçi. Academic rivals to lovers enerjisi almıştım onlardan çok. Hala shipliyorum ama Nico'yu ve Libby'yi aynı zamanda başkalarıyla da shipledim kitap içinde. Ama spoiler vermeyeceğim bu konuda. Reina'ya gelirsek, onun için çok sevdim ya da sevmedim diyemeyeceğim. Çok nötr bir karakterdi ama genel olarak sevdim diyebilirim. Tristan'ı çok sevdim. Onu da herkesle shipledim resmen. Parisa'yı aşırı sevdiğimi söyleyemem. Yetenekleri, manipülasyonu falan aşırı havalı kız. Ama çok ısınamadım. Callum da aynı şekilde. Ama genel olarak herkesi sevdim diyebilirim. Ana karakterlerde en azından nefret ettim diyebileceğim biri yok. Konuya gelirsek (sonunda) İskenderiye Cemiyeti diye bir şey var. Atlas diye bir adam da burada bir koruyucu. İngiltere'deki İskenderiye cemiyetinin savunması için altı özel güce sahip genç bulması gerek. Atlas da bu altılıyı seçiyor ancak içlerinden biri sene sonuna kadar elenecek.
