Le chanvre, fibre d’antan, comme solution pour demain ! Aujourd’hui je vous raconte pourquoi j’utilise le chanvre, une fibre naturelle et écologique, dans mes créations ☺ Le chanvre, Cannabis Sativa, de sa terminologie botanique latine, fait parti de la famille des Cannabaceae. Cette plante est cultivée pour un usage industriel non récréatif. Contrairement au chanvre indien, Cannabis indica, utilisé pour sa substance psychotrope. On garde donc le terme «chanvre» pour désigner la plante agricole et «cannabis» pour l’utilisation du THC. Le chanvre est une plante pouvant être cultivée sur toute la planète, sur tout type de sol, dans des climats de 7 à 30 degrés. Écologique par excellence, elle nécessite très peu d’eau, n’a aucun agresseur, donc n’a besoin d’aucun pesticide et s’intègre parfaitement dans l’agriculture biologique ! Elle favorise la pollinisation et structure les sols : 1 hectare de cette culture fixe 15 tonnes de CO2, lors de sa photosynthèse. Une grande partie est ensuite restituée au sol. Celui-ci est dépollué car elle réduit la concentration des métaux. Que dire d’autre… C’est une plante étonnante ! Toutes ses parties sont utilisables : racine, tige, fibre, chènevotte (= la pulpe de la tige), graines, fleurs et feuilles. Leurs utilisations sont infinies … Fil, ficelle, cordage, tissu, papier, litières, matériaux de construction et d'isolation (phonique et thermique), biocarburant, divers matériaux composites associés à des matières plastiques, produits alimentaires pour les hommes et les animaux, cosmétiques, médicaments… De plus le chanvre est capable de couvrir les 4 besoins vitaux de l’humanité.
