Transparent post: today is one of those days that I'm struggling with my own mental health. It's been awhile since I've struggled with it this bad. I keep asking myself what I'm doing wrong. I keep wondering why I feel like I can't do anything right, and I'm trying SO hard not to put myself down, but it's just... not that easy. If you know, you know. A popular jock and an outcast come to realize that appearances are not all they seem and love can come from the most unexpected people.  What I thought was going to be a generic sweet popularxoutcast story turned out to be somewhat darker. Mental health is a major focus throughout which wasn't unwelcome, just unexpected. I enjoyed the author recognizing the mental health issues that can occur from trauma and that it's okay to have those issues and that you're not alone. Respect to the FMC's best friend for sticking with her and helping her through her hard times. Also, gotta give a shout out to the MMC for growing up and handling the outcomes that were thrown at him.  I will say there were some discrepancies that appear in the story but not many (Asher’s party outfit changed from originally stated and Wren’s stolen ribbon became a different color). Overall, the story was a cute and quick love story that focuses on healing and overcoming tragedy and traumas. No spice, very YA with some funny moments and adult language. There are not many ‘must take’ supplements on my list. I actually think as long as your food is relatively decent then most supplements are a waste of money. In fact taking some supplements when there is no need to could have a negative effect on you. Not Vitamin D though!! I have changed my mind……⁠ ⁠ I have known the benefits of taking Creatine for a good many years now, but was never something I placed too much emphasis on.⁠ ⁠ I used to be of the opinion that all supplements were the last couple of per cent. The Protein intake step ladder⁠ ⁠ Step 1 - Aim to get 25–30 grams of protein per main meal. Particularly early in the day. And not just one day, EVERYDAY.⁠ ⁠ Step 2 - When consistency is creeping in with Step 1, your next aim is to get consistently nailing 100 grams per day. EVERYDAY.⁠ ⁠ Step 3 - is a crossover of getting 1.6 grams of your current body weight and 2 grams of your goal weight (be realistic). Work out those 2 numbers, meet somewhere in the middle, and you are golden.⁠ ⁠ Step 3 will come relatively straight forward if you nail step one and 2. EVERYDAY.⁠ ⁠ Bonus Tip: To increase your protein, look at the foods you are eating that are ‘high protein foods’ and just eat more of them. And actually high-protein foods, not the shit that some marketing genius from Kellogg's stuck a high-protein sticker on.⁠ ⁠ Bonus Bounus Tip: Eat your protein first in each meal; chances are you will feel fuller and therefore leave some calories on the plate. My 10 tips to help you navigate the 50 upcoming bank holiday weekends in the next 2 months…⁠ ⁠ 1 - Do not ‘save’ calories throughout the week leading up to a night out. By all means get extra steps, walking, and training in but do not skimp on food.⁠ ⁠ 2 - Eat your normal meals during the day of the night out. Even if you are going out for food.⁠ ⁠ 3 - Drink extra water. Slip in a hydration powder or 2.⁠ ⁠ 4 - Zero calorie mixers. If you are gonna drink calories make sure there is alcohol in them 🙈⁠ ⁠ 5 - Do not drink a lower-calorie alcoholic drink. Drink your favourite drink, you are on a night out, spending hard-earned money, your gonna have a hangover, might as well drink your favourite drink. Unless you're swapping pints for bottles.⁠ ⁠ 6 - Your first meal after the party is free. As in eat what you like (or what your fit ta🙈). Make sure that meal is not a Kebab on the way home or 10 ham and cheese toasties. Just go to bed.⁠ ⁠ 7 - Every meal thereafter gets 50% better. Not perfect but better.⁠ ⁠ 8 - The following evening as you finally feel you are gonna pull through, make it a fakeaway, NOT a takeaway.
