Generally, your indoor plants will need repotting every 12-18 months. Sometimes, because of one of these 5 reason, they’ll need repotting sooner. Get to know your indoor plants & you’ll notice when something isn’t quite right. Be sure to save this to refer back to later x #simplylifeoils #indoorplants #repottingplants

Jade Plant Care By following these simple care tips, you can enjoy a healthy and thriving jade plant in your home or garden. Light: Jade plants prefer bright, indirect light. They can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in the morning or late afternoon, but too much direct sun can scorch their leaves. Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's best to err on the side of underwatering. Water sparingly, especially during the winter months when the plant is dormant. Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix for planting your jade plant. This type of soil allows excess water to drain away quickly, preventing root rot. Temperature: Jade plants prefer temperatures between 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C). They can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures, but they are sensitive to frost and should be protected from freezing temperatures. Fertilizing: Feed your jade plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength during the growing season (spring and summer). Fertilize sparingly, as jade plants are not heavy feeders. Repotting: Repot your jade plant every 2-3 years, or when it outgrows its current pot. Choose a slightly larger pot with good drainage holes and fresh succulent soil. Pruning: Prune your jade plant to maintain its shape and encourage bushy growth. Remove any dead or yellowing leaves, as well as leggy growth to keep the plant looking neat. #jadeplantlove #jadeplants #jadeplantsucculent #indoorplants #indoorplants #indoorplantsdecor #indoorplanters #indoorplantdecor #indoorplantcare #indoorplantcare #indoorplantcaretips #indoorplantcaretip #plants #plantnook

Want your mini Monstera to thrive? Here are some watering tips to keep your little green friend happy and healthy! 💧💚 Mini Monsteras prefer their soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Stick your finger into the soil about an inch deep—if it's dry, it's time to water! Cold water can shock your plant's roots, so be sure to let your water sit out for a bit before giving it to your mini Monstera. Mini Monsteras are sensitive to soggy soil, which can lead to root rot. Only water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Make sure your pot has drainage holes to allow excess water to escape. This prevents waterlogged soil and keeps your plant's roots happy! Remember, every plant is unique, so keep an eye on your mini Monstera and adjust your watering schedule as needed. Elevate your plant care game with our Soil & Microbe Booster. Your plants will 🙏 you for it. And if you're not across it yet, our Soil & Microbe Booster is a Frass/Biochar dream team: 🌿Frass holds about 240 million microbial colony forming units per gram. Look how beautiful this Ficus shivereana 'Moonshine' is. Here is a basic guide if you want to nurture Ficus shivereana 'Moonshine' as your house plant. 1. Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. Tolerant of lower light conditions but may slow down growth. 2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Adjust watering frequency based on the season; reduce in winter when the plant is in a dormant phase. 3. Humidity: Prefers higher humidity levels. Mist the leaves regularly or use a humidity tray to maintain a humid environment. 4. Temperature: Maintain a warm environment between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Protect the plant from drafts and sudden temperature changes. 5. Soil: Use well-draining soil with a mix of peat, perlite, and pine bark. Repot if the plant outgrows its container. 6. Fertilization: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can lead to salt buildup in the soil. 7. Pruning: Trim leggy or unruly growth to maintain a bushy and compact shape. Remove any yellow or damaged leaves regularly. 8. Pests and Diseases: Keep an eye out for pests like spider mites and scale insects. Treat promptly if detected. Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues. 9. Support: Provide support if the plant grows tall and becomes top-heavy. Remember to observe your Ficus shivereana 'Moonshine' regularly and adjust care based on its specific needs. @sonia_plants' kitchen is full when it comes to watering day in her home. She shared with us an unusual houseplant fact that you can try out next time you're doing a watering session at home: "In some regions of the world, it’s not uncommon to give houseplant leaves a lasting shine by wiping them with milk. The proteins in milk are believed to break down residue, giving the leaves that glossy finish we all appreciate. When we first got into lockdown I was living with my Nan who I was convinced was utterly mad (or should I say udderly mad) when she would be polishing her Pothos leaves with a napkin and glass of milk on a weekly basis 😅🙈🪴🥛" #ypha #youngpeopleinhorticulture #horticulture #youngprofessionals #houseplants #houseplantweek #indoorplants #indoorplantcare #indoorplantcaretips #houseplantcaretips

Saved my Pink Lady (Callisia Repens/Pink Panther) from a root rot issue Here’s how: - Trimmed healthy stalks & removed rotten root mush - Disinfected the pot with a hydrogen peroxide solution (water + 2-3 drops of hydrogen peroxide) - Added fresh soil to the pot - Carefully planted trimmed stalks into fresh soil for new root growth - Watered the soil thoroughly. Fun fact: This one started off with only 4-5 stalks in a tiny pot and it’s now thriving in two pots! It’s super easy propagate this one. All you need to do is just gently push a healthy stalk into soil, keep it in indirect light! #PlantCare #GreenThumb #PlantPropagation #PinkLady #Call isiaRepens #indoorplants #indoorplantcaretips #indoorplantcare #savemyplant

💧WELCOME TO MAKURU 💧 Makuru is the indigenous winter season of June and July that are typically the coldest and wettest months of the year 🥶 Did you know that winter is the easiest time of year to kill house plants?! If you own indoor plants here are some top tips to keep them looking great throughout Makuru 💙 • Move your plants! - away from heater vents, fires or other heat sources - closer to windows TIP: Use a light meter to find them a spot they will love. • Don’t put your blinds down to allow the maximum amount of light in. • Clean dust off plant leaves with a soft cloth and neem oil or @wethewildofficial protect spray • If your house is dry and lacks humidity group plants together to create more humid conditions and mist them when you can. • Pull back on the watering! soil dries out less easily in winter so plants do not need as much water. TIP: Use a water meter to check your soil levels to avoid overwatering. • When you do water, put neem oil in it to prevent any fungus gnat outbreaks from wintery soil conditions. If you have any questions about indoor plants and keeping them alive please feel free to drop me a DM! Don't get discouraged if your indoor plants don't always thrive. It's normal for indoor plants to lose leaves or look a little sad from time to time. There are many factors that can affect a plant's health, including the amount of light, water, and humidity it receives. If you're new to indoor plant care, don't get discouraged if your plants don't always look perfect. Just keep learning and experimenting (I’m still learning each day), and you'll eventually find the right care routine for each plant. Here are a few tips to help you keep your indoor plants healthy: * 🫴🏻Choose plants that are suited to your environment. Some plants prefer bright, direct sunlight, while others prefer indirect light or even shade. * 💧Water your plants regularly, but don't overwater them. The best way to tell if your plant needs water is to stick your finger into the soil. If the top inch of soil is dry, it's time to water and if it’s feeling light when you pick it up it needs a good drink. * 💩Fertilize your plants regularly. This will help them grow strong and healthy. * 🌡️Keep your plants away from drafts, cold temperatures and radiators which can dry out your plants 🪴 over time. * 🔬Inspect your plants regularly for pests and diseases. If you see any problems, take steps to treat them immediately. With a little care ⛑️ and attention, you can enjoy the beauty of indoor plants for years to come.

Possible reasons your fiddle leaf fig is dropping leaves ⬇⁣ ⁣ 1. It's been overwatered. These plants prefer their soil to be on the drier side and hate soggy soil.⁣ ⁣ 2. It's close to an open window, frequently used door or radiator that's causing a draft.⁣ ⁣ 3. Lower leaves may drop if there isn't enough bright sunlight. ⁣ ⁣ 4. Bring dead plants to life ☘️We all face dead plants at home and it is so heartbreaking seeing these little plants die. Here are my 3 tips that can help you bring almost dead plants back to life.☘️ 🏵️Trim dead parts of your plants : If a plant is dying you must have come across those dry leaves and hardened brown stems. Chop them straight away. Why? Because they are weak/dead parts of the plant and plant puts all its resources to bring them back to life thats making other parts also weak. Its like our hair growth where we prefer to trim ends that have split ends else that creates weaker hair for human body. 🏵️Fertilise the plant: A plant often dies out of some nutritional deficiency and fertiliser can fulfil the nutrient requirement of the plant boosting them to grow back. However, before fertilising the plant you need to know what kind of fertiliser suits which plant. Vermicompost, chemical fertiliser, bio-compost, liquid fertiliser, leaf mould, cow-dung manure etc are many kinds of fertilisers available in the Indian market. You need to factor in the kind of fertiliser your plant needs depending on its condition. Providing fertiliser in an apt manner can bring the dead plant to life. 🏵️Propagate to a new Plant: Sometimes, the condition of the plant is too critical and most of it is dead. That time, taking the roots and a little of the stem, it can be propagated to a nes plant chopping off the rest of the plant. Also, for those plants who can grow back from other plant of the plant like a bulb available near roots or just a stem shall be repotted to another vase to get a new plant. ☘️Hope these tips would help all plant parents bringing back the plant from the dead. ☺️ #indoorplantlove #indoorplantcare #dikshabhutani #plantmom #plantparent #greengifting #indoorplantcaretips #plantedheaven #houseplants #tipsandtricks

I water regularly still my plant dies… Oh I move my plant in the sun on a daily basis still it dies…. We receive a lot of queries about this!! Really!! The plant dies of over caring too. A plant that doesn't require sun on a daily basis or needs water every 15 days, will likely die if you over care or over water them. Each plant has their own requirements and a plant care guide needs to be followed. A snake plant, for example, needs little sun every 15 days and they can stay without water for 15-20 days depending on the humidity. Always check their soil for their needs of water. Similarly ZZ plant have different requirements due to which we make sure to provide a plant care guide with every planter we send. Follow our plant care guide card to take care of your plants. If you have lost them, make sure you follow the highlights “Plant care” as a guidebook for all your plant care issues. Do you own a fickle … *ahem* … fiddle leaf fig? This ficus species is known for being a rather dramatic house plant – move it slightly to the left or look at it the wrong way and you’ll regret it! 😂😂😂 But there are a few simple tricks that will keep your FLF happy and healthy like mine pictured here. 🪴Water once a week on the same day – sounds crazy but they love it! My FLF wasn’t thriving but it’s grown by a third since I started doing this. Don’t overwater either; a moderate amount is perfect. 🪴Locate in a sheltered, warm spot – FLFs hate drafts so put them somewhere breeze-free and in a spot that stays a consistent temperature (between 15⁰ and 25⁰C is good). 🪴 Put it somewhere with consistent bright, filtered light – my FLF is in a west-facing window so never gets direct sun. I killed my last FLF by having it in a north-facing window where it baked, oops! 😬 ➡️ for a video of my FLF, which I got as a baby about 25cm tall. I’ve had it for around two years and even with regular fertilising, it really didn’t do much until I implemented these tips. It’s now nearly 40cm tall and thriving. Tell me about your fiddle leaf in the comments – I’d love to know how it’s going. 😄

Caring for indoor plants during hot weather is important to keep them healthy and thriving. Here are some tips to help you care for your indoor plants in the heat: ☀️ Provide proper lighting: During hot weather, it's important to make sure your indoor plants are getting the right amount of light. If the plants are in direct sunlight, move them to a spot where they receive indirect light. 💦 Water frequently: High temperatures can cause the soil to dry out quickly, so it's important to water your indoor plants more frequently. However, be careful not to overwater them as this can also cause problems. 🌿 Increase humidity: Indoor plants thrive in humid environments, so if the air is dry during hot weather, consider using a humidifier or placing a tray of water near your plants to increase humidity levels. 🪳Check for pests: High temperatures can also attract pests such as spider mites and mealybugs, so make sure to inspect your plants regularly and treat any infestations promptly. 💨 Consider air circulation: Good air circulation can help keep indoor plants healthy in hot weather. You can use a fan to circulate air or open windows and doors to allow for natural airflow. By following these tips, you can help your indoor plants survive and thrive even during the hottest months of the year. 👌🏼 #summerplantcare #summerplantcaretips #indoorplantcare #plantcare #plantcaretips #plantcareintheheat #perthplantcaretips #perthplants #perthplantcare #indoorplantssummer #caringforplants #indoorplantcaretips #howtocareforplantsinsummer #caringforplants #caringforplantsinside #keepingplantsaliveinsummer

BUNURU-The second summer 🔥 Feb & March The Noongar Season ‘Bunuru’ is represented by the colour orange and is the hottest time of the year with little to no rain. Hot easterly winds continue with a cooling sea breeze most afternoons – if you're close to the coast. In terms of indoor plant care it’s pretty much the same advice as for BIRAK. Things to do for your houseplants: • Check their moisture levels using a Brunnings 3 in 1 Soil Meter Moisture/pH/Light • If they need watering pop WE THE WILD Grow concentrate and Eco-Organic garden Eco-Neem concentrate 100ml into the water to provide nutrients and prevent fungus gnats. • Move plants from direct light if sun is hitting their leaves near windows • Dig WE THE WILD Support pellets 250g into the to soil to support long term growth and nutrition • Check plant moisture weekly/fortnightly as increased growth, light and warmth can dry them out more easily. Unless they are a moisture loving plant such as ferns, calatheas etc don’t water unless the meter reads 2-3. • Ensure plants aren’t left in sun facing window rooms without airflow as hot air can wilt and damage leaves. Keep doors open to the rest of the house or crack windows to allow the seabreeze in. Enjoy the sun ☀️ #bunuru #indigenous #indigenousseason #indigenousseasons #indoorgardencare #indoorplantcare #indoorplantcaretips #indoorplantadvice #indoorplants #howtolookafterindoorplants #indoorplantcaretip

HOW TO BOOST PLANT GROWTH The first point to note is that plants essentially only need 3 things: water, light and food and the second point to note is that if a plant isn’t feeling threatened and in survival mode it will flourish. Combine them together: If your plants are receiving optimal light, water and food then they will flourish. The biggest guessing game for many people is figuring each of those elements out. 1. Do your research-like you are now! and learn the light water and food needs of each plant you own. 2. Group plants of the same needs together. It makes it easier to keep track of when they all need watering and feeding and having them together creates a microclimate they love plus grouping for light needs makes sense too. 3. Trial and error! If a plant isn’t thriving and it has optimal water and food, it might need different light. Change its position and monitor. It should make a difference within 2 -4 weeks. 4. Don’t over do it-applying more fertiliser isn’t better and stronger varieties aren’t better either. At the most a @wethewildofficial grow tonic every 2 weeks-4 weeks is enough to support growth along with @wethewildofficial support pellets in the soil for sustained plant health. 5. If you are feeling lost with your plants, need advice and guidance in regards to plant placement, feeding, watering and light needs a consult with me could save you time (in research!) and money longer term (by not killing plants!!) Book an in-home consult today! DM me for details or stay tuned for more info about this new service i’m keen to offer!

Maybe it's a sign of getting older, but houseplants are the new candy for me! Never thought I would have a green thumb, but here I am with a living room full of plants! Well, some of them are also in my bathroom. So, in honor of National Houseplant Appreciation Day, I thought I'd reshare a blog I wrote about a few options for plants that can be grown in humid environments like bathrooms... https://disstudiodesigns.com/blog/small-houseplants-that-love-bathroom-humidity Photo by Diane M. Completely white leaves are so pretty but they also bring so many disadvantages to the plant🪴🤍 They don’t have any chlorophyll so they cannot help the plant grow and sadly all further white leaves did not make it :/ now a new green growth point started, so I am hopeful that the plant will start growing again 💪 Featuring my Tradescantia fluminensis green and white 💚🤍 #plants #plantcare #plantsonwhite #plantsonwhitecommunity #plantcare #plantcaretips #plantlady #studentwithplants #whiteleaves #variegatedplants #plantsofinstagram #plantstagram #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantlove #indoorplants #indoorplantcollection #indoorplantcaretips

KAMBARANG-Season of birth 🪴 Kambarang is known as the second spring, the spring we’ve all really been waiting for. Warmer temperatures and increased sunshine means animals and plants alike are getting busy. Newly planted plants in Djilba will really get their skates on and start to grow now with the right water and fertiliser levels. It’s also perfect for planting in October aswell as it’s not yet too warm to cause heat stress. Book Review! Indoor Plant Care 101 by Miche Ferret @mamamiche_ is a friendly book companion to plants and their caretakers! Especially, indoor plants! Many of us see cute plants or ogle at what our plant friends on FB’s plant groups are bragging about! But not all of us are educated on these plants. Anyone 🙋🏻‍♀️? Impulse buyers! We can also become impulse plant killers. A little education goes a long way, well, ‘help’ brownish thumbs graduate into a greener thumbs 😊. This book’s approach, POV, is like what you need, a friendly read from a person that knows a little, or a lot, more than you. The author is sharing good tips, but isn’t using encyclopedia terms you don’t understand. More like a blogger, but bookish! There’s tip like choosing the right plant for your life style: plant at a desk, low light, bright indirect light? What types of soil and how much water? Succulent much? Even ‘impossible to kill’ plants. I have a different view in that phrase, but that’s what’s floating around right? People like me, who own over 100 different types of indoor plants, who find the true botanical names more appealing than the common yet so vague names, can use some pointers. Who knows! Maybe we can all finally stroll down the plant isles and say “Hey!, that’s a Tradescantia Zebrina! And NOT “inch plant” or “wandering …!” #plantcaretip #plantcarebook #indoorplantcare #indoorplantcaretips

Today a client needed to add a little privacy to her home as a front window is easily accessible to passing onlookers and there are no options to plant an outside screen. She was lucky that we had Tom looking for a home. This beautiful big #scheffleraarboricola AKA dwarf umbrella tree was the perfect height for instant privacy and as they have an open growing habit Tom will stop any peeping but won't block all of the light. These fabulous shrubs can grow in most indoor conditions including low light and can reach 2-3 metres if required or pruned to fit their space. Note- lower light means slower growth. We have some lovely arboricolas in stock starting from $25. @greenerlifeinverloch Standard open hours 🌱Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 10-3 🌱Sat 9-3 🌿DM for appointments and watch for Sunday POP UPS 🌱Gift vouchers in store or online 🌱Expert advice, pots, plants, inspo #inverloch3996 #greenerlifeinverloch #inverloch #indoorplants #southgippslandsmallbusiness #basscoast #leongatha #koonwarra #capepaterson #meeniyan #tarwinlower #wonthaggi #kongwak #fishcreek #visitgippsland #inspiredbygippsland #capepatersonecovillage #visitcapepaterson #visitinverloch #basscoastbusiness #southgippsland #korrumburra #wonthaggi3995 #southgippslandshire #indoorplantcaretips #oodies #visitinverloch #greenerlifeinverloch

Did you hear the latest health advice - oodies recommended to be worn to work due to current 🥶🥶🥶 so we are just complying ! Ps we all know this is a staged photo ( I worked out how to set the timer on my new iPhone) we all know I am currently outside in my oodie and pj’s hosing frost off all the plants! If you do get frost overnight your plants , just like your windshield would like the freezing frost hoses off before the sun his it and it harms the plant’s foliage . Best advice is to move any precious plants, succulents, cactus somewhere out of the frost - we have a couple more freezing mornings to come ! greenerlifeinverloch Standard open hours 🌱Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 10-3 🌱Sat 9-3 🌿DM for appointments and watch for Sunday POP UPS 🌱Gift vouchers in store or online 🌱Expert advice, pots, plants, inspo #inverloch3996 #greenerlifeinverloch #inverloch #indoorplants #southgippslandsmallbusiness #basscoast #leongatha #koonwarra #capepaterson #meeniyan #tarwinlower #wonthaggi #kongwak #fishcreek #visitgippsland #inspiredbygippsland #capepatersonecovillage #visitcapepaterson #visitinverloch #basscoastbusiness #southgippsland #korrumburra #wonthaggi3995 #southgippslandshire #indoorplantcaretips #oodies @oodie_squad

THE CLASSIC HOUSEPLANT Ahhh the humble Peace Lily...she is an old school favourite, and (in my opinion) a must have addition to any collection 🌿 PEACE LILY CARE TIPS: ☀️ bright, indirect light is ideal but will tolerate lower light too 💧 water when leaves just start to droop or when top 5cm or so of soil is dry (check using a Soil Moisture Metre prior to watering) 🌱 propagate by splitting the plant as it clumps out 🌸 encourage flowers by placing in optimal light conditions 🪴 feed regularly to encourage new growth & lush foliage - I recommend Grow Plant Food & Tonic and Foliage Focus Plant Food 🍃 regularly wipe down those beautiful leaves with Protect Spray to avoid dust build up & pests. Peace lilies can sometimes have a bit of a diva reputation, but really they are pretty straight forward. The real key is to not over-water & provide nice bright light. What's your verdict on Peace Lilies - love them or not? Meet the sturdy Parlour Palm! 🌴 This miniature palm tree is the perfect indoor plant for beginners! It tends to thrive in environments where other plants struggle to survive. It has also been proven to help filter various pollutants from the air, keeping the air of your home clean and clear. Here are a few care tips for Parlour Palms... 💚 Keep out of direct sun, but lots of filtered natural light is fine. 💚 If you notice the Parlour Palm roots peeking through the bottom hole of your CUP O FLORA pot simply pick up a larger sized pot and repot. 💚 Brown leaves may mean you need to try a different fertiliser, remove your Parlour Palm from direct sunlight, pop it into a new spot with more filtered sunlight or mist every so often with demineralised water when it's dry. 💚 Check your Parlour Palm regularly for signs of insects or disease like withering or yellowed leaves as the best cure is always prevention. #cupoflora #selfwatering #selfwateringplanter #selfwateringpot #plantgifts #giftideas #plantlovers #plantlife #indoorplantlovers #plantstyle #plantdecor #plantlovers #plantsforbeginners #australianbusiness #plantaccessories #glassplanters #beautifulplants #sustainability #plantcare #plantsofinstagram #plantlove #urbanjungle #naturelovers #parlourpalm #indoorplantcare #plantcaretips #indoorplantcaretips #indoorpalm #glasspotplant #potplant
