Hallo Planties 🪴💚 meine Monstera variegata ist nicht so schön gewachsen 😮💨 und durch ihre Wuchsform auch sehr wackelig, weshalb sie zu einem Kandidat für den #PlantGlowUp wurde 😅 Gekauft hatte ich sie als einen sehr seltsam gewachsenen Ableger🌿 wie man auf dem zweiten Bild (habe es noch einmal ohne Rahmen mit angefügt) sehen kann. Das gefällt mir nun nicht mehr so. 🫣Hauptproblem ist allerdings die Instabilität. An drei Stellen moose ich sie zur Zeit ab, aber das dauert ewig. Bei einer Bestandsaufnahme musste ich soeben feststellen, dass dieser Vorgang nur langsam von Statten geht. ⌚️ Zunächst wollte ich sie mehrfach teilen, bis mir in den Sinn kam, dass ich auch unter der untersten abgemoosten Stelle schneiden und die anderen abgemoosten Wurzeln in den Moosstab einführen könnte. Dann hätte sie bereits Wurzeln, die sich in den Stab einfügen und ich habe nicht noch mehr Pflanzen, von denen ich mich irgendwann aufgrund des fehlenden Platzes trennen müsste. Am Ende will ich die Pflanze vollständig in Moos stehen haben, damit ich gerade bei ihr nicht mehr das Problem habe, dass beim Giessen des Moosstabes die Erde immer klatschnass wird und ich #wurzelfäule riskiere. Achso, die beiden Blätter ganz unten, werde ich nach dem Schneiden in Wasser bewurzeln und weitergeben an eine Freundin. Habt ihr vielleicht Tipps, wie ich das Abmoosen unterstützen kann, sodass das Wurzelwachstum beschleunigt wird? Und wann die Wurzeln lang genug sind, um überhaupt zu schneiden? 🌞🌿 There it is, the @growerschoice_lighting E420 🎉 420 watts of plant growing power. I certainly don't NEED all 420 watts to grow low and moderate light requirement plants... BUT, the reason I got it was because it can crank out tons of light, at a distance, over a large area. Like I've been saying on this page over the years, small, low-wattage grow lights might be fine for a small group of small plants, when the light is only a foot or so above the plant's leaves... ...but they aren't going to give your plants enough light, at a distance, over a large area. To do that you need a large light, that can produce DENSE light down at the plant's leaf surfaces, even when the light is high above the plants. It NEEDS to be high above the plants, in order to have a large light footprint down near the floor. (or table top, or whatever your plants are sitting on.) But in order for the light that reaches the leaf surfaces to BE dense with light photons, the light needs to use a lot MORE than just 10, or 20, or 40 watts... like all those cheap grow lights that are so popular and highly recommended on Amazon. ...which are the same ones you see all over social media from popular accounts who don't understand grow lights... who were approached by various light companies in an effort to sell more of their products. I explain why they're not worth your money, in the first 2 posts of my "Grow Lights" highlighted story... and you can watch me PROVE IT, in a video live-stream you'll find towards the end of that story. 🌞🌿 New grow light post coming soon. I was in need of a new light, seeing as how some of my plants are as tall (or taller) than I am. I needed something that could produce a large footprint, to cover as much area as possible... ..AND be able to put out around 50% of full sun, so that I can have it mounted close to the ceiling, while still providing ample light, from a distance. You'll never get this much light from small, low-wattage grow lights that you find on Amazon, ever. You'd end up having to pay a higher price, for 20+ individual, 20-watt "grow lights", and you wouldn't have enough electrical outlets in your room to plug them all in. Have you read all the posts in my "Grow Lights", "Light", and "Light Meters" highlighted stories? If not, go find those and read until your eyeballs can't take it any longer. I can almost guarantee you that you're not giving your plants enough light. (By that I mean, those of you who HAVEN'T read those posts yet... and those of you who are still using cheap, tiny grow lights) I've been teaching this stuff for years, and those of you out there who HAVE read those posts, and HAVE purchased a decent grow light, can attest that you saw a significant increase in your plant's growth and wellbeing. If I had to guess why your houseplant isn't thriving without looking at it, my first guess would be: overwatering 💧 Too much water can rot their roots, attracting mould and even pests. So how can you tell if you're overwatering? Strangely enough, the plant might respond by wilting. It might stop producing new leaves. Or its leaves could go yellow. Look out for mould on the surface of the soil too. Want to avoid overwatering? My best advice is to never water on a schedule. The other day I walked in my front door with this tray of plants and received THE look 😂 I finally scored on all my long time wish list plants I had put off buying for years, because I didn’t wanna cough up the big monies. While optics looks on the surface…uh not great, I had to explain why I actually saved money 😂 Why $5 for some dumb looking plant called a Scalprum or $10 for mid sized King Anthuriums is a market anomaly.
