I recently found this cute #hoyawayetiivariegata in the terrarium section at a nursery and had to get one 🥰. They only had a few in stock and I'm pretty sure they sold out quick, because they were only 3€. There are at least two plants/ cuttings in the planter. The #variegation is super pretty 😍 and I've wanted to get one for quite some time, but they were still pretty pricy for the size and condtion the plants were in. It seems that only recently the prices on these and a lot of other plants started coming down a bit, which I'm super happy about. The leaves on my #ficusshivereana are starting to size up again 🥳. There was a little bit of an adjustment period for this plant. Since I brought it home while it was still freezing temperatures outside and repotted it right away, the first view leaves it grew for me came in much smaller. But now I think it's finally done adjusting and the leaves are getting larger again 👍. Now that it has become warmer and sunnier, it is growing much faster as well. Not gonna lie…I already miss that little baby plant hanging off that Curly Spider Plant. I did have to cut it off though, I want babies from this plant! It’s such an easy plant and I love the way it looks, I want them everywhere! I always propagate spider plants in water, they root so fast for me this way. This one is the Bonnie Spider Plant or Curly Spider Plant, and I think I like it way more than the regular one. Something really crazy that I observed about this plant is that it gets pale green when it’s thirsty, then turns bright green when you water it. It of course also droops when it’s thirsty, which is why it’s a great beginner plant. It communicates its needs well. It also has thick roots that store a lot of water, so they can go a bit longer than other plants in between waterings. I have heard that these like bright light to stay curly, I don’t know if that’s true but I do have her on an east facing window. Gets bright direct sun in the morning, and bright indirect the rest of the day. Not gonna lie…I already miss that little baby plant hanging off that Curly Spider Plant. I did have to cut it off though, I want babies from this plant! It’s such an easy plant and I love the way it looks, I want them everywhere! I always propagate spider plants in water, they root so fast for me this way. This one is the Bonnie Spider Plant or Curly Spider Plant, and I think I like it way more than the regular one. Something really crazy that I observed about this plant is that it gets pale green when it’s thirsty, then turns bright green when you water it. It of course also droops when it’s thirsty, which is why it’s a great beginner plant. It communicates its needs well. It also has thick roots that store a lot of water, so they can go a bit longer than other plants in between waterings. I have heard that these like bright light to stay curly, I don’t know if that’s true but I do have her on an east facing window. Gets bright direct sun in the morning, and bright indirect the rest of the day. I was able to snag a #hoyalinearis on clearance at a garden center yesterday and it is in great condition 🥳. I've had a Linearis years ago, which ended up dying shortly after I bought it, because it was infested with pests 🪳 and I was pretty new to growing Hoyas. Usually when I find these, they are infested with mealy bugs 🤢.They aren't really that hard to come by here in Germany, but they usually aren't very happy. This one seems to be fine though 👍. But just to be sure, I immediately sprayed it down with water and followed up with one of my pesticide, to kill off any pests that might be on the plant, and to prevent them from spreading in my collection. I did hang it far away from my other plants and will repeat that process a few times. Just to be sure there isn't anything on it 🫣. Once it has adjusted to my home I will repott it and put it in my own Hoya soil mix. I didn't want to stress the plant out even more after being treated already. I think it was on clearance because they were getting in new plants soon and had to get rid of some older stock. Because really, there is nothing wrong with this plant at all, as far as I can tell 🤷🏻♀️. I'm glad I have a new Hoya Linearis in my collection 🥰. I've always wanted to get another one after the first one died, but was never able to find one I liked. I love the long vines with all those thin leaves and the fuzziness of the plant 😍. I'm also a little bit more experienced with growing #hoyas by now, so hopefully I am able to keep it happy and healthy 🤞.
