Prayer plant going asleep They are called prayer plants because they react to the amount of light by moving their leaves morning and night. This is typical of the Marantaceae family. Here is a Maranta leuconeura in daytime in the first picture and preparing to go asleep in the evening in the second picture. It moves its leaves upward in the evening and in daylight it lowers the leaves to a "normal" position. 雨季の始まり 一昨日の夜半から昨日未明にかなりの雨が来た。やっと来た！ 停電ももれなくついて来た。🤣 今年のようにsuper hotだと、雨乞いをしたい気持ち、よくわかりました。 大きな雨で山焼きからの煙害も一発霧散きれいな青空が広がります。 今週から午後はスコールがくるかな。 庭の鳳凰木はどんどん開花。プルメリアは満開。火焔樹も若葉を伸ばしている。 イタリアンバジル、4月の初めに小さな種を6粒蒔いて2苗はここまでもりもり茂っています。今回の種まきの後、水やりがちょっと乱暴だったか。。雨だよ〜とふざけてホースで雨のようにしてみたら、種4個はどこかへ飛ばされた模様。 YouTube先生から小さな芽は繊細なんですから〜と反省を促される。。すまん。 時間差攻撃であと2粒蒔いてごまかす。🤣 マンゴーは今20cm。10個は収穫できたらと祈ってます。 昨夜、マンゴーの品種R2E2の苗木と、マンゴスチンの苗木をRAZADAで見つけたので2本ずつポチりました。 チェンマイ在住のライター、mariさんからマンゴスチンの木は樹氷の木のように大きくなるよと聞き、調べたら7〜20mにもなれば一本の木で1000〜3000個は実るんだって。モンスターだわ。 小さな木でも100〜300個はいけるらしい。うひゃぁ〜。皮算用〜！ 昨年の柚子、マイヤーレモンの苗木は順調に育っていて、かなり自信をつけている我でした。🤣 庭は楽しいね。 ライチを屋台で販売しているZala嬢に連絡したら、今年は暑さでripe時期が遅れているらしい。でも多分甘いライチな気がするな。待ってるよ〜 #gardendiary #tropicalplants #mangolover #plumeria #tropicalflowers
